Hardly hopeless if you just consider the A&M team this season to be "Meh" and all on the Head Coach. Had faith he would adapt but Elko shows he's unwilling on offense and the QB. Just frustrating TAMU is paying millions of dollars for "Meh" of a Head Coach.

Jimbo's last year felt the most hopeless. The payout was enormous, he wouldn't make changes, our coordinators were crap, our line coach was an unequivocal disaster, the team was out of control and it felt like there was no way we could get out of it. And this feels exactly the same.

We didn't know how crazy our BMAs were in Jimbo's last year but I don't think they are going to go to the well again to fix the exact same problem three years later. We're fooked.

I have been checked out on this season since Kentucky. I hope to see a couple more wins but I do not expect any. That is my definition of hopeless. I haven't felt like this since Sherman in his first year, or oretty much any of Fran's years. I was spoiled with my years at A&M, 85-89, never losing to sip and winning 2-of-3 Cotton Bowls. And the following decade was mostly solid although ultimately frustrating.

IMO, we wiffed in the portal on Edge rushers, Oline, and Horton had been a disappointment - perhaps because of Reed. And Reed has been bad.
Bright spots are kicking game and young RBs. To a lessor extend some of the young receivers.
I lived thru Fran. Doesn't feel hopeless.

It's astounding that these guys look like they don't practice together, the on field result is last bizarre.
I've been watching since 1984 and don't ever recall being so hopeless that we could win the next game. We had off years and epic second half collapses, but before kickoff, I always had some hope we could pull something off. Not this year.
Unless we blitz, we have absolutely no pass rush. Many of Russell's long passes wouldn't have happened with a real pass rush.
I was in shock that Elko trotted Marcel out there after the second interception. Stubborn mule.

After the loss to app state I quit watching games live and would check the score after the game, if we won't, I'd watch.

Only difference in 2026 and 2022 was Devon Achane. He gave us some hope each game. He also single handedly beat LSU to end the season.
Jimbo's offense in 2022 would have been just as bad without Achane. 2023 was actually looking up with Weigman until he got hurt against Auburn.
Before 2022, the 2011 year where you just knew Sherman was going to blow it by going conservative.

It took until year four and five. He was unquestionably the worst coach of the last 30 years. It's bonkers to me he even got to year 5 here.
All you need to know is that the "smartest guy in CFB" thought it was a good idea to put a rookie OC in charge of his offense.
One of the wealthiest programs in the country and decided he couldn't do better than a rookie.

It's an insult to the team, the program, the fans and the university. A&M is not where a coach cuts their teeth as a coordinator.
Tom Wilson & Fran both beat cow. Elko is 0 - 2 and not likely to change that this season.

This, EXACTLY. Fran held us hostage to his stubborness- both with Reggie and then McGee. It was absolutely maddening- like knowing your driver is heading straight for a cliff and u cant do a damn thing about it.
