What's he going to apologize for? He was asked a question and he gave an honest/correct answer. This place is a cesspool.
Yet, here you are - in the cesspool

Maybe so. But that's not why this team sucks. We had no control over the product he puts on the field. He should worry about that instead of us in the cesspool. Maybe if he wins, the cesspool will dry up

Public? I highly doubt it. Apologizing to a message board would look pretty damn weak. But to Billy? I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest. TexAgs is basically a PR arm of the program. Losing the core source of hopium wouldn't be a good move, unless Elko is in "**** this place" mode. I've already been surprised by the edge in Buchanan's game write up, and Buchanan is kinda a sing songy nice guy. That doesn't bode well for Elko.

No way does he owe anyone an apology.
Especially members of the cesspool formally known as the zoo.
Cesspool Exhibit 1. This is the garbage Elko was referring to and what you want him to apologize to. I think "cesspool" was kind.MagnumLoad said:

For the last month this board had been pretty much nothing but screaming personal attacks, and demands to stop supporting the team.
He's supposed to apologize for what now? Saying real fans show up, while trolls online scream about boycotting home games?
If you're gonna throw ****, you need to understand that it splatters. Elko needs to understand that. Texags posters need to understand that too.
We throw plenty of *****
Some got thrown back.
Oh no.
Anywayā¦

The best form of apology would be to fire QB coach, OC, DC, and bench reed.

I'd rather him just shut the **** up, stop whining and blaming everyone else, and ****ing win games like he is being paid millions of dollars to do.

He was obvisously talking about Premium.
LOL if you think I'm reading that.90ags said:
Is it really though? Does everyone truly understand the various definitions? Does Elko? Granted it's his version of Saban's 'rat poison' perspective, but Elko's timing and audience to deliver it too was wrong.
Key Meanings & UsageSo, opinions that state the obvious about players play, coaching and the teams performances on the field are not really a 'cesspool' commentary. It's not bad behavior to not like what is seen on the football field and say it's unacceptable. He could say those posters posting bewb rallies, women of other schools, derogatory weight stmts. might fit cesspool, but those aren't about the team/players/coaches lackluster performances.
- Figurative Description: It is used as a harsh insult to describe a place or environment overrun by bad behavior, crime, or dishonesty (for example, calling a corrupt government or a toxic online platform a "cesspool of corruption").
- Physical Origin: Literally, a cesspool is an underground pit or tank used to collect raw sewage and household wastewater.
- Slang Tone: The term is informal and strongly derogatory. Calling someone or something a cesspool means you view it as completely rotten or disgusting. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Would agree that those who choose to make derogatory stmts. regarding Elko's weight (happens way too much here as a bit childish in a way) and anyone attacking a player / coach on personal profiles X or Instagram would lean towards cesspool topics. I don't see that on rampantly on Texags per say (other than weight) nor threats against them. I'm sure Elko thinks comments to replace him, OC, the QB, etc. are cesspool because that's a 'rotten' perspective to have per his view.
Elko has played the ego card from the get-go. Lectured the fan base to get rid of BAS over the last 2 years and now has exacerbated it to the nth degree. He knows he's in a no win for this season and has no real optionality for QBs or coaches mid-season (but he's not going to allow fans dictate anything to him as he's the smartest football man in the room I'm told).
Last year was an anomaly with some sched luck and the team was stacked with experience to cover up a mediocre QB (who has regressed this year, but partly due to OL IMO as he's mentally sped up before the snap of the ball). Told many friends last season that we missed a real lifetime oppty. after losing to UM at Kyle with players he'd have to replace, OC/DC replacement, easier schedule last year, 1st rd. playoff game at Kyle, not beating tu, etc. and personally didn't see past 7-8 wins for this upcoming year (as a stretch).
