Yet, here you are - in the cesspool

He will "clarify" his comment when asked at the next press conference…He won't apologize. He doesn't need to win us back. He has to win a few more SEC games and beat the sips

If he is smart he won't try to claim he was saying "Billy Cesspool" like the white knight defenders on here are trying to spin. That would just make him look worse

Forced apologies are not real apologies.

Both he and Trev need to confess and repent. Power must die.
There is only one narrative: The ETs Farsight is in contact with are the good guys. Not so regarding the faction of et OUR military is in bed with.

Maybe so. But that's not why this team sucks. We had no control over the product he puts on the field. He should worry about that instead of us in the cesspool. Maybe if he wins, the cesspool will dry up

I don't think he ever said it was anyone else's fault.

It was a stupid comment that he shouldn't have made, but people demanding an apology or claiming he should be fired over it are exactly the kind of snowflakes that he is talking about.

His entire comment was basically that he cares about the fans that support the team, but not the ones that grumble and cry all the time.

Stupid comment, but this board is proving his point by all of this outrage.

Move on.

Hopefully he hasn't spent a second thinking about the comment since he made it.

No way does he owe anyone an apology.
Especially members of the cesspool formally known as the zoo.
He has a right to his opinion and he's spoken.
Make no mistake I'm disappointed in Elko and his unwillingness to make changes that are obviously needed.
That may very well cost him his job.
We shall see, but don't hold your breath on an apology.

I don't care if he apologies for all this cesspool bs but I sure hope he apologized to the defense for wasting their effort with a QB and offense that everyone with a modicum of functional brain cells knew was incapable of winning that game.

And if HE didn't know that then what he spews before, during and after a game is completely meaningless.

Public? I highly doubt it. Apologizing to a message board would look pretty damn weak. But to Billy? I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest. TexAgs is basically a PR arm of the program. Losing the core source of hopium wouldn't be a good move, unless Elko is in "**** this place" mode. I've already been surprised by the edge in Buchanan's game write up, and Buchanan is kinda a sing songy nice guy. That doesn't bode well for Elko.

If Elko is in the mode you suggest. Fire him now for cause and make him sue.

If Elko thinks we are bad, try being 1-3 SEC at LSU, Alabama, etc.

Elko is going to have to address his comments. Whether that comes in the form of an apology or a clarification is the question to be determined. The mistake was bringing the fanbase into this poor showing on the field that he is responsible for and somehow attempting to make them a part of the problem.

He should call Billy today and apologize. Then start with an apology at the press conference tomorrow saying it was unfair. If he does those two things, that's the end of the issue. Get out in front of it.

Episode 1 of Saban (great show, BTW) shows him making a couple of missteps at press conferences, and he talks about how he regretted it.

Now whether he can get this team playing good football is a different issue.

Also, I love how we whine as a fanbase for a coach that doesn't constantly give us coach speak, and then when someone calls it like he sees it, we get all pissed off.

Elko just needs to quit reading message boards. Or maybe he is getting emails he does not like. Here is an idea, WIN GD FOOTBALL GAMES FATSO.

The best form of apology would be to fire QB coach, OC, DC, and bench reed.

Cesspool Exhibit 1. This is the garbage Elko was referring to and what you want him to apologize to. I think "cesspool" was kind.

For the last month this board had been pretty much nothing but screaming personal attacks, and demands to stop supporting the team.

He's supposed to apologize for what now? Saying real fans show up, while trolls online scream about boycotting home games?

If you're gonna throw ****, you need to understand that it splatters. Elko needs to understand that. Texags posters need to understand that too.

We throw plenty of *****

Some got thrown back.

Oh no.

Anyway…

Welcome to every colkege football board in existence.

It's pretty simple, his team cant fkn score, and the first thing he does is call out the fanbase.

Is it really though? Does everyone truly understand the various definitions? Does Elko? Granted it's his version of Saban's 'rat poison' perspective, but Elko's timing and audience to deliver it too was wrong.

Key Meanings & Usage
  • Figurative Description: It is used as a harsh insult to describe a place or environment overrun by bad behavior, crime, or dishonesty (for example, calling a corrupt government or a toxic online platform a "cesspool of corruption").
  • Physical Origin: Literally, a cesspool is an underground pit or tank used to collect raw sewage and household wastewater.
  • Slang Tone: The term is informal and strongly derogatory. Calling someone or something a cesspool means you view it as completely rotten or disgusting. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
So, opinions that state the obvious about players play, coaching and the teams performances on the field are not really a 'cesspool' commentary. It's not bad behavior to not like what is seen on the football field and say it's unacceptable. He could say those posters posting bewb rallies, women of other schools, derogatory weight stmts. might fit cesspool, but those aren't about the team/players/coaches lackluster performances.

Would agree that those who choose to make derogatory stmts. regarding Elko's weight (happens way too much here as a bit childish in a way) and anyone attacking a player / coach on personal profiles X or Instagram would lean towards cesspool topics. I don't see that on rampantly on Texags per say (other than weight) nor threats against them. I'm sure Elko thinks comments to replace him, OC, the QB, etc. are cesspool because that's a 'rotten' perspective to have per his view.

Elko has played the ego card from the get-go. Lectured the fan base to get rid of BAS over the last 2 years and now has exacerbated it to the nth degree. He knows he's in a no win for this season and has no real optionality for QBs or coaches mid-season (but he's not going to allow fans dictate anything to him as he's the smartest football man in the room I'm told).

Last year was an anomaly with some sched luck and the team was stacked with experience to cover up a mediocre QB (who has regressed this year, but partly due to OL IMO as he's mentally sped up before the snap of the ball). Told many friends last season that we missed a real lifetime oppty. after losing to UM at Kyle with players he'd have to replace, OC/DC replacement, easier schedule last year, 1st rd. playoff game at Kyle, not beating tu, etc. and personally didn't see past 7-8 wins for this upcoming year (as a stretch).

I think Elko actually has a health problem. The upper part of his abdominal area looks swollen, not fat. He does not look healthy.

I would rather figure out how to put a team that can win on the field, than apologize. He wasn't wrong but he needs to figure it out before firing potshots at this part of the fan base.

Apologize for which, the comment, for leaving an inept quarterback in, for the team not scoring a touchdown in games or for losing ball games he was hired to win. He's got a lot to apologize for!!!!! I can understand when a team loses a ball game, however, the insanity is continuing the same thing over and over and not changing the problem!!!!

I don't think he should have to unless he voluntarily does.
However, if I was in charge I'd make him show a little more respect to the fans since they are paying his salary as well as the players
Make them show up at yell practice. Not only would it be goodwill they would learn something about Aggie culture which might motivate them more

Nobody is going to make him apologize.

If he refuses what are they going to do fire him? hes got a 100% guaranteed contract until 2030. 2030 and 2031 are at 85% guaranteed. you guys are stuck with him.
