Very surprised lsu has completely given kiffin the keys and letting him burn it all down before even coaching a game.

I also don't see the sec refs helping them out much anymore.

Tigerdroppings seems to think that LSU will win this issue...boasting about the attorney etc....

If I read this right , the Federal suit filed by the SEC trumps the one filed by the state?

Regardless this whole thing is a clown show.

I think the bigger issue is if LSU "wins" and rosters the two professional players, they will have backed the SEC in a corner. I think it's clear the other members and the recent federal lawsuit by Sankey put the writing on the wall. Enough is enough and they are prepared to move on without LSU. No one is bigger than the conference and the other 15 have spoken.

The worst thing that could happen to LSU would be for them to actually win this round in court.

I agree...then they almost have to roster them because they're already too far down the road to back down. Too much pride.

Not saying they're wrong or right on that point as I'm not following the whole situation, but the posters on tigerdroppings have the IQ level of a first grader.

Half of them aren't even college educated and the other half went to LSU.

Once the big 12 filed in federal court, Texas Tech quit just a few days later, maybe the next day. There's a reason for that, the sham was up. Let's see if LSU is as smart as tech.

What a low, low, low bar to set.

Well

The bar is set extremely low.

And magic 8 ball is still unsure of the outcome.

I'm no lawyer but I think the SEC may have opened a door for LSU to crawl through and they already did.

The SEC said no pro from NFL, NBA or WNBA. They didn't say other sports. And LSU already fielded a pro soccer player back in school.

https://www.tigerrag.com/lsu-soccer-defender-jazmin-ferguson-plays-for-tigers-after-signing-with-pro-team/

So LSU may try and argue that the SEC is using discrimination based on sex and sport.

That would open a massive can of worms.

The SEC should have said "no pro in any sport".

The SEC mentioned NBA/G-League/WNBA and specifically left out international pro basketball. I understand the overseas players sign to leagues as teenagers, but they are still considered pros.

Wow maybe Kiffin @ tu would have been the real disaster here, seeing as how welcoming Slive's tonsils are to all things burnt orange. Thanks, Arch??

I'd be on the lookout too for sip to file an IP infringement suit against swamp kitty, they're really getting out-innovated in the field of "Destroying Athletic Conferences."

I think we will enjoy SEC Shorts not matter the outcome of the game, thanks to LSU antics but a Clemson win will elevate it to another level.

That attorney does not represent LSU, he represents the players trying to gain eligibility. The SEC created this mess by enforcing rules for some players and schools and not for others.

who did they not enforce the rules for?

The League followed the court order and allowed Charles Bediako to play for Alabama, they followed the court order allowing Diego Pavia an extra year at Vanderbilt, they followed a court order allowing Trinidad Chambless a medical sixth year. I don't care if Chambliss never declared for the NFL draft, he is making more money than any of the players filing a suit would've made this year. Cole Hutson attended rookie mini camp with the intention of becoming an NFL player. He was not good enough to make a team and he went back to Texas on August 6. Not a peep from the SEC, nor the media. They can't make a distinction that says it's OK for Hutson to play because he was not good enough to be offered UDFA contract. Call other players on SEC rosters who attended rookie mini camp with the same intention of being an NFL player.
The SEC can't follow all those court orders from players the NCAA declared ineligible, but choose not to follow this court order just because the players were in NFL training camp for a week.

Well to me it's clear. To be a professional you sign a contract. NCAA and SEC is squared on that. So those that did are out. Those that didn't - tested the waters - can come back. They were never professionals by the definition of signing an NFL contract.

The NCAA is also squared on players having a six year of eligibility which is why they declared Chambliss ineligible 3 times, but the SEC chose to do nothing about that.

This is awesome...Good for Sankey and the SEC.

It appears the swamp kitties poked the bear a bit too much. Kiffin and LSU are trash.

I wonder if Sankey will allow SEC members to cancel their games against LSU without penalty? Would love to see a 3-game LSU schedule, lmao.

No. That has TV money implications.

Good point. Or they could take the fines from LSU and pay that to the TV providers.
