I think this is one example of why his using his legs more in 2026 will eventually lead him and this Aggie football team to more success.

And I also think OC Wiggins (and Coach Elko) is smart enough to take advantage of that part of a skill set that is the "scariest part" to opposing coaches and players.

I think it was Klein that thought he was a true QB and not necessarily Marcel.

No, not ability to run, but the DECISION(S) to run. He needs to run more when needed to pick up chunk plays, move the chains, and avoid negative plays. That comes down to decision making and know when to pull it and run. His best games he has been as dangerous on the ground as passing from the pocket.

I wish offseason could last forever

Klein tried to make Reed too much of a pocket passer last season and forced the long ball at the wrong times.

Reed needs to be running the RPO more, more quick passes and roll out a lot more.

Something tells me Wiggins will utilize Reeds strengths.

Except Johnny met expectations and could pass the ball accurately. He won back to back Heismans, but it was stolen from him the second year.

Reed's a string bean and it's a long season. If he gets hurt, we're done. As frustrating as it is, limiting his running likely gives us the best shot at making the playoffs.

I'm hoping we see a big progression from him from last year to this year. His biggest place where he needs to develop is in the minimal aspect of the position. It's his third year of playing, and if he progresses exponentially like he did last year from the previous year and he takes that bigger exponential step for this year like you should, and really grasp the mental aspect of it, he's gonna have a pretty high ceiling. He needs to be a better overall rounded quarterback and boost his NFL stock up because he's gone after this year. The only other factor that could hold him back is of our old line is really a lot worse than what all of us are hoping for.

I say cut him loose and see what happens. Multi year starter with ability to hurt opponents with his feet. Trust in him and see where it goes. Can't worry about him getting hurt . He's been durable and just like every other team if he goes down it's next man up. If you get good leads in early season games pull him and get the young QB's some game experience but other than that let the man eat. He has the potential to be very effective. If he burns teams with his feet it's going to open up the passing game . If his passing game is effective it's going to open up opportunities for the running game by both him and the rest of the rushing cadre'. If the OL develops and you can run the ball without him running then that's great But history says the extra qb rushing threat is definitely a nice option to have against better defenses.

If the OL develops reasonably quickly I believe there is a ton of potential here. Jmo , the floor is a serviceable offense and the ceiling is a kick ass offense. I think the defense will be good as well. Team could be better than last year's team. Record may or may not reflect that . Schedule appears to be tougher on paper .
