Plus, the guy said Ole Miss isn't southern. Probably the most culturally southern school there is. Their mascot is a confederate soldier.

Every Techie is utterly obsessed with A&M and can't help but lie constantly when we are involved. "A&M came to us FIRST but then chickened out"
It's a story that satisfies their red headed step child jealous little brother syndrome at every level but when you ask the simple question of "why would A&M do that?" It completely falls apart from a lack of logic.
Plus it fails the other simple test: there's no way A&M obsessed Tech wouldn't have gone straight to the press and their fans with that story to try and get us to give in and play them. It's what they want more than anything else.
This post says a lot more about you than it does about Tech.
There was some discussion, we decided it wasn't a great move. Not a big deal.
If you don't understand why Joey is doing this in the media, you don't know a lot about this business of college football.
They did the same thing with Texas and they'll do it again if another big name passes.
Pipe down, lol.
They have zero to lose by using the media like this other than maybe a smaller P4 program takes a chance and it helps both sides.

Should Mississippi State receive the same harsh treatment Texas Tech received over the summer? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/ARw7f3fCQ2

Tech has been ridiculed for their laughably soft schedule. The sips coach called them out specifically for their laughably soft schedule. Which lead to the techtards doing the chihuahua yapping at great danes from behind a glass door bit, because they knew there was no way the door would ever open.
We do not have a soft schedule. In fact, we have a very hard schedule, with 8 or 9 opponents who could go 12-0 against tech's schedule.
But here's a good one for you. According to your "source"... The powers that be at A&M looked at tech's laughably soft schedule, and our big boy schedule, and said, "Hey, why don't we buy out and cancel a home game that's already under contract, so we can help tech out with their strength of schedule by playing them away from home in a game that would have no possible benefit for A&M".![]()

Lolol "trust me" is your source, as far as tech is concerned It's better for them to not play anyone worth a ***** Then go on social media tour and talk about how they'd whoop someone's ass in a hypothetical around playoff time, then it is for them to actually play someone and lose
As much as they want to believe it, they're not ND lol

Who knows
But you do look silly on this thread.
The reason you're in the minority is because you came here with a story where A&M was offering to play an 11th P4 game in 2027 after NC State cancelled on Tech 4 months ago. That did not happen.amg405 said:

Nobody is mad that A&M decides the game isn't worth playing in the future, because it isn't. All teams are moving away from tough OOC games if they can. They're mad at the absurd delusion that A&M should play 11 P4 games next year.

One perspective is on the actual Tech coaching staff… one is… you. lol. I look forward to your logical reasoning.
If you were stuck in a lower conference, creating a weaker strength of schedule, what would you do to try to improve your strength of schedule? What's the logical thing to do bud?
Sweet dog picture though man, really drives your point home.

Maybe I was unclear. Most of the original shots at me were questioning the authenticity of where my information was coming from (a Tech coach), while claiming "logic" was why A&M would never even discuss scheduling Tech because of some perceived conference superiority.
That's a separate point from the P4 total number of games argument you're making, which I don't disagree with. That is the salient point here and not one they were originally making.
Bottom line is if the operative assumption is the person I know on the inside is lying, agree to disagree and we'll see ya.

That's an easy answer. I wouldn't have scheduled my nonsense non conference schedule in the first place. I wouldn't wait until 2026 to work on my 2027 schedule and if I got caught with my pants down like Tech, I would be too embarrassed to call programs like A&M, Texas, and USC who handled their business years ago like adults. Why is this Tech Coach just now coming to the conclusion the B12 is weak? Their 2026 non conference schedule of ACU, Oregon St and Sam Houston? That was scheduled years ago? What does he have to say about that?

You went on a mini rant about how posters on an A&M message board feel the need to fall in line with with a A&M biased narrative, but can't seem to accept that maybe your tech coach friend might be guilty of falling in line with a tech narrative. Common sense will tell you that A&M didn't reach out to tech to schedule the game, just to say no
So…from a neutral fan like yourself, what do you believe the business case is for A&M to add Tech this year?amg405 said:Jimbo4win said:amg405 said:SunrayAg said:amg405 said:

Hate to hit you with facts here but conferences changing their total number of conference games has caused a number of schools to revisit 2027 in 2026, including Texas A&M and Texas Tech.

Truly pathetic.
