Tech brings nothing to the SEC

Summary of reasons for Tech joining SEC

1. NIL expenditure
2. Regional rivalries = huuuge television ratings = increase value (i.e., tceh increases the value of the SEC)
3. The SEC is passionate - tceh is passionate
4. They have basketball, baseball, and T&F too
5. Locks down the Panhandle market

The Panhandle market? Borger and Pampa..
Hard pass. The list of schools that would be vastly superior before having to stomach a phone call to Texas Freaking Tech: Florida State, Clemson, Miami, Duke, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Virginia just for starters..

You can't be serious.

Tech has nothing to offer. That's why they are in the big left behind conference to start with.

Nil expenditure does not increase their value to a conference.

The sec has plenty of regional rivalries.

We already have LSU fans. We don't need anymore violent *******s.

And as someone who lives in the panhandle, I can guarantee you that our market is statistically insignificant.

Tech knows once the SCSA passes they are locked up in the L10 for all eternity and the transfer and NIL rules will destroy their newfound success of being the tallest midget.

They know their only chance is to try and somehow convince one of the P2 that somehow they're a better choice than all those juicy ACC schools with real academics and real national followings

But trying to say that locking down the Muleshoe and Plainview markets is somehow better than locking down Florida is just embarrassing even by a place like Tech where everyone minors in being an embarrassment

Truly pathetic.

The team, its coach, and its one mega-wealthy are worthy of scorn. If Tech is the most hated football program, one can conclude that it earned that dubious distinction. The school is also POS. Everyone knows that it's this state's LSU.

1. tceh doesn't expect to get the games scheduled. If it happens, then OK but it's not the reason for them coming after us or tu.

2. tceh has a problem with their Charmin schedule this year and the foreseeable future. They can't reasonably expect to get that fixed for this year or next.

3. With that schedule, they will be left out of the playoff with 2 losses, possibly even with 1 , especially if it somehow kept them out of the BDF Conference Championship. (With 16 teams and the ability to miss playing certain teams this is now possible).

4. tceh needs an argument to distract from their horrible schedule.

Being able to shout out how the Ags and tu were scared to play them, even though they tried, helps give them cover for the crap schedule. Not one bit of that is true but it's all they have.

tceh being tceh

There is an old joke that applies here...

How many Aggies does it take to change a lightbulb? Five. One to hold the lightbulb, and 4 to spin the ladder.

How many longhorns does it take to change a lightbulb? One. He just holds it up and waits for the world to revolve around him.

How many red raiders does it take to change a lightbulb? Nobody cares. You have to be relevant to get lightbulb jokes made about you.

1) We are playing 10 P4 games in 2027 already. Adding one more does nothing for us

2) wether you like it or not, the committee doesn't reward playing a 12 game schedule of nothing but night games at Georgia. It rewards minimizing losses at all costs no matter who your wins were against. They will not reward 3 losses even if they're to #1, #2 and #3 all on the road.

Lol. I hope it is true. **** those dumb dirt buzzards. Anything other than a home game against them is a nonstarter for me. If they really want to play us, they can play a true away game at Kyle Field with an allotment of 7500 tickets for there ****ty fans, and not as a home and home. If we have to go to Lubbock for a playoff game at some point, then whatever, but we should never voluntarily agree to play them in Lubbock or at a neutral site ever again. They should not get to make any money off of our brand and our fanbase.

The SEC is doing well with 16 members at this point. There is no real need to expand.

That being stated, if the SEC expands it should NOT be to BFE in the Texas Panhandle.

Any SEC expansion should be to pick up two more schools: one school each from North Carolina and Virginia. I personally would prefer to have the University of North Carolina and Virginia Tech University. That would then lock up major southeastern United States television markets and give the SEC a solid national brand.

With 9 SEC games there is no benefit to playing a non-conference opponent that has a decent chance to beat you. The 3 non-conference games need to have a win chance of +75%.

Even with the 9-game conference schedule, every SEC team is still required to play one Power 4 nonconference opponent.

I'm willing to schedule Tech under the same guidelines as Texas State or tu San Antonio or Rice or UTEP. One game at Kyle Field. That's it. This year we play 7 teams currently ranked in the top 25 recruiting rankings. WE played 10 games in the last 2 years against them. Tech plays NONE this year and was shut out by the only ONE they played over the last 2 seasons. No logical reason to travel to play Tech or to drop Arizona State game for Tech.

How did we leave them behind? Are they a dependent we're required by law to nurture?

When their AD was asked if they'd be willing to schedule A&M in the future his response was "Yes, so long as it's in every sport." That's tantamount to saying, only if A&M stays in the Big12. We didn't leave them behind, they didn't have what it takes to come with us.

Additionally, from a cultural standpoint, I'm not sure Tech really belongs anywhere other than the Big12 or possibly the Mountain West. There's almost nothing "Southern" about Lubbock, church-to-resident ratio being an exception.

If the SEC expands, I highly doubt it will be to add schools already in the footprint.
