All good points, but encouraging and excited are not two words I'd use for a guy who's never been an OC.

Lots of Maroon Koolaid there. Any if they you're just making up because you want it to be true?

Don't discount another year of maturity and experience. He's heard all off-season how he needs to protect the ball better. I imagine that almost every film session he's had since Miami he's looked for ways to protect the ball better.

I crossed out everything that could have been said almost the exact same way last off season.

Not saying it will, but I'm not putting any real hope in this basket. Wiggins could be the next great OC in College Football, but I expect there will be some growing pains. There will probably be some head scratchers in some big moments.

While we said it last year too, this is probably the strongest reason to expect improvement. Old fashioned hard work & more experience makes you better.

Cracks me up you complained about games we won and Reed actually played great at times in winning them.

You're right he has no chance of improving.

I liked Klein's overall approach but there were some serious head scratchers wrt his play calling . The one that comes to mind particularly was Reed pitching the ball to Morrow and Morrow attempting to throw back to Reed … thinking it was late in the game against SCAR . It wasn't just the play call but Morrrow was also our least experienced rb. That was an all time head scratcher imo. Even experienced OC's have their wtf moments.

Agreed. Players get better year to year and so will Marcel. Experience is a great teacher. You can quote that last sentence if you'd like.

You should have left off the part about the WR position being better even though KC is gone. That is a huge assumption and if you end up being right you'll look like Nostradamus2.0

KC was one of three parts that helped Reed. Two of the three are now missing. No KC, and essentially a brand new and unproven OL.

He will not be. He will be the same.

Marcel Reed was not the difference maker in our games, but he performed very well in a handful. The games we won were the result of having a good team all around, and playing a favorable SEC schedule.

If we have another good team across the board this year, and the circumstances/breaks in the game fall out way more often than not, we can win a lot of games again. Just don't expect to win a trophy.

You didn't watch these games objectively, thats for sure. There were 3 huge drops against SCar and we couldn't run the ball to save our lives. Not sure how you came away blaming the QB.

Marcel isn't going to magically become a better passer this year. We did this with Kellen Mond too. "will he take the next step?".

The answer is no. He is what he is. Hole Man is going to have to play call to this dudes strengths. Have no idea what our offense is going to look like under Wiggins. Marcel is going to make some throws, miss some wide open ones that will cost us games, and he'll probably win us several games because of his running ability.

Jimbo stuck with Mond, and Elko is sticking with Reed. Hopefully it will turn out just as good or better.

The biggest leap for players is the year after being the full-time starter. Yes, I know he started a lot the year before, but he was no the guy all in all year.

But Mond did improve year by year. Dramatically.

His deep ball was always weak, but he was solid his senior year and he led us to a strong finish.

I believe that Reed may well improve more than Mond this year. I always thought he had more ceiling than Mond showed at A&M and is a more elusive runner..

My "attitude" is realistic, as it has been since 1977 (when I started watching Aggie football). I asked a simple question. It's been rationally answered by some. By others … like you … it was not.

If I remember right in the USC game he could have had 5 pics in the 1st half. Had 2, 3 were dropped and 2 of those thrown right at someone. Sometimes he just doesn't see the coverage. Then in the 2nd half he plays like the Heisman winner. 2nd half against sips was awful as well. I give Miami a pass as the wind in that game was unreal and Miami had the hammers in the D line to stifle a running game.

Jayde Daniels and Joe Burrow say hello. Is that objective enough?

Players make a huge jump from their 2nd to 3rd year. Maybe Reed makes the same jump, maybe he doesnt. To say it doesnt happen is ridiculous at best.
