Hello fellow Ags! I have had season tickets for a few years now and am trying (hoping) to move from 343 to upper west (401-408) rows 15 or lower. Looking to get 3 or 4 together and have a question as I have been through the seat selection in previous Aprils to not much success.

My rank and 12th Man point total has never been super high to be able to select early enough for those sections. This year I have given more in hopes it will help move me up in the process. I have jumped from rank 13,000 with 100 or so points to rank about 10,000 and over 350 points.

Last year, my selection was May 1st. Typically, it starts around April 8th and goes about four weeks.

I am hoping my "boost" in rank will get me up about 10 days or so as I think around April 21st should still have some availability.

I know there is no guaranty the extra donations will get me where I want to be but it's a good cause and worth a shot.

Do any of you that may have selected April 20-25 last year know your rank or points? I am trying to determine if a rank of 10,000 will get me in early enough.

Thanks for any insight. Good luck to all of those going through the process this year!

Thank you for being a good Ag I hope it is enough to get you where you would like to sit

In a few years the original "lease" term expires from the the new west side re-seat

It seems likely to get a group of really good seats together you might have to wait for a re-seating

Which is why I am of the opinion a new reseat will happen because TMF needs new donors giving significant gifts , new donors want good seats and most of those seats are leased to people who aren't likely giving up their seats in significant numbers

The only place people are talking about a reseating is Texags. They can do another capital campaign without doing a reseating, and the case for needing to shake loose seats for big donors at Kyle is much weaker than at Olsen -- you'd be pissing off a whole lot of heavy hitters to do it.

I have 400 points and it hasn't been enough to move seats. I am in section 414. Trying to move anywhere on the former students side instead of north end zone. There have been zero options. I am trying to move 4 tix, but there aren't even 2 together when I have logged in to check.

1. For tickets to become available, the current ticket holder has to NOT renew them or someone has to die.
1A. Since we have t.u. at home this year, low probability of non-renewals this year.
1B. Probably need another Covid to kill off enough old ags to move the needle.
2. For the people that die and have donated less than $35,000,000 and cannot transfer the tickets to their children, the people with 3-digit priority point rankings often scoop their tickets up.
3. Since prices went up this year, TMF is expecting very few non-renewals.

I know it's too late now, but if anyone is considering making a large donation to try to increase their points, start up an account for your kid and make the donation in their name. That way when you kick the bucket, they will be able to keep the tickets and buy a gulfstream with the $35 million you saved them.

You have the right idea to move up the best you can on points. After that, it's a year by year availability crpshoot. There ARE seats where you can move up, but you may have to be flexible. At least you can keep your current seats as a worst case.

I'm in the 8000 range and last year got two seats in a better section than you're seeking.

Yep, the idea of another reseating is only alive and well here on Texags, and mostly among 4-5 posters. They won't reseat again unless they do another major tear down and rebuild. It's just not necessary. They can levy capital campaign donation requirements as often as they like when seating terms expire, so there is no need to reseat. Capital campaign donation requirements are all they need to shuffle good seats. Levy high enough campaign donations and they will free up good blocks of tickets everywhere except the suites.

I would wager that at least 30% of the people with seats on the upper west side did not pay the last capital campaign, because after 2015, you could move sections without having to pay the campaign donation. I know because I originally paid the campaign to get 3 seats in the upper middle sections. After the first or second year I added a 4th when a block of 4 became available, and I now have 9 seats in 404. All based on paying the campaign for 3 way back in 2013.

So throw a campaign donation out there and a bunch of people who have never had to pay one before are going to think twice about paying $8-10k for the right to keep buying their seats at the full donation and ticket prices.

And people looking to get into suites understand that they are a scarce commodity that do not turn over quickly so a waiting game for them is expected.
