I have been watching Sports Talk J and a few other pod casts and they been point out that LSU is spending way more money than the cap allows and they are massing a very talented roster.

Seems like a lot of teams are upset with LSU.

What is this cap? Who enforces it?

Guarantee you Texas and Tech are paying just as much if not more in NIL

ETA - I agree that they're going to be good for the foreseeable future

There is no cap. There is revenue sharing and a clearinghouse. There's also loads of lawsuits waiting in case schools try to enforce this without a CBA.

LSU has some big money donors. Todd Graves (founder of Raising Cane's) is a big donor and has a net worth of $22 billion, yes with a B…)

Kiffin coming to Baton Rouge has re-energized that donor base. One of the biggest reasons Kiffin went there was because of the guaranteed annual NIL money for the players. They're going to be a problem for the foreseeable future.

Very true. The last couple of days he has consistently rattled off 5 college who Tennessee can't keep up with ….because Tennessee is following the rules. His claim is that Tennessee will not be able to compete with LSU, TT, Miami, Texas and Texas A&M's of the world.


Yep. He has been saying that a lot. Mainly because Tennessee has no QB lined up to go this year.

LSU and the state of Louisiana are broke, but the LSU football program is not. They have some big money donors and they are going all in with Lane

And for every Fernando Mendoza there are a handful of very expensive portal QBs that only make their new team marginally better
Of course I could be wrong but I don't think IU won a bidding war for FM. Cignetti got his guy very likely Beck was the highest paid portal QB and not sure where FM ranked in cost

I'm going to assume you're joking, but if not, feel free to go to the 247 transfer portal tracker and look for yourself. If you don't think that several of those guys would not have been an immediate upgrade, then you're either lying to yourself or just being obstinate.

They can have all the QBS they want.. But they have an inflatable dummy and a mop and bucket playing OL right now.
They had the same issue last year. PLenty of talent at skill positions and no OL.. They'll be average. Defense will suck.

Yep, and don't get me wrong. I'm highly critical of Reed and I think he single handedly lost the Texas and Miami games. BUT the cold hard reality is there's no bullet proof clear better QB than him that's available. They all have flaws.
