The stench of how this season ended. I thought I'd be over it by now. Anybody else?

Like…… Miami isn't even good! 3 points at home. I still can't get over it.

you are really shocked about the how season ended? Have you been paying attention to Aggie football over the last 30 years?

Seek help or find a new hobby. Shouldn't be hard to get over what happened a week ago.

Nope, I've gotten over it. It sucked, but at the end of the day we finished 11-2 with a second year head coach. Our program seems to be trending in the right direction, though I doubt we'll have more success next year with a harder schedule and a large loss of talent.

Honestly no I don't care that much. It sucked for a few hours and then just shrugged it off. I was not playing and not coaching and none of them would have cared what I thought so I figured why be upset.

I am still irritated, not depressed. Usually I get over them quickly. I am questioning Klein remaining on board...QB with turnover issues two games in a row....and an Oline that underperformed mightily.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda, I know, but I expected us to at least get to the Cotton Bowl.

This. This is how I feel. Not depressed but it still irritates me HOW it all ended

How are we trending in the right direction when we lost our last two games and you're already predicting that we don't do as well next year? Doesn't sound like a trend in the right direction.

Yeah let me rephrase. I've had a wonderful Christmas and am not literally depressed about college football.

But I catch myself flashing back to the game. And imagining Carson Beck preparing to play another game…. Imagining the smug whorn fans laughing.

Finishing 0-2 to tu and then the way we lost to a pedestrian Miami offense has me randomly shaking my head while driving in the truck.

The players and coaches invest their time, their bodies, their families, and their reputations. Fans invest some time and a little money. Turn the page.

And they are rewarded handsomely for their effort. Kinda left that important aspect out of your description.

Kills me. Getting punked by TU and then the embarrassment of 3 points.
Three freakin points.

Nope, but I was a 40 year,? HS coach in Texas. Rewarded yes, but not millions. It was our lives, not a hobby. There is a difference.

What in the heck is this??? Elko makes $70M, our key players make more than most of us, and $500 a ticket isn't a little money.

The stench of pre game fear coming to fruition is still in the air.
But a Volleyball national title and their lack of fear sure helped dilute the acidic football's year end

Missed opportunities and falling flat on the big stage are nothing new to this program.
Doesn't matter the players or who the head coach is.
8-4 is on the horizon next year and we will slide back into mediocrity and soon be looking for our 7th head coach in 25 or so years.

Get your licks in now
We run this state
It ain't gonna be like it used to be
This is a real program

Nothing changes but the dates on the calendar and the name on the door with this program.
The more you understand that the better off you'll be.

Kinda weird angle to take regarding fans not putting work in. lol okay I wanted a win for them and my school. I thought rooting and caring about a team's outcomes on the field was part of being a fan/supporter.

Just bums me out. And now I want week 1 to get here asap. But there's still football left this season.

I dunno. I'm a glass case of emotion. Really wanted more for this team.

I called it. After having watched Aggie football for the last few decades, I wrote that after the texas loss we'd be one and done in the playoffs. It's a tradition now to fall flat on our faces at critical moments. I just don't care anymore. The football program has beaten the care out of me. Now I just laugh at the embarrassment.

I used to get really upset and I'd be unbearable to be around. Then I realized that even if we had won, heck even if we won the championship, what's that to me other than water cooler talk at work. It's not my accomplishment. I put in no blood, sweat or tears for it. There's more to care about in life, things you have actual control over than what a bunch of overpaid mercenaries do who happen to wear the name of your alma mater for a season.

Coach Elko won 11 games with an 8-4 team.

People thinking you're a "man" because of a perceived stoicism in response to sports are comical.

Children can't regulate their emotions because they have not learned that life skill. Some here are still working through this. It's not a man thing so much as an adult thing.

More pissed than upset.

It could have and should have ended differently, but we had a lot of people- staff and players, going through the motions.

F 'em.

If you get depression over performance of some 18 year old kids, you should probably seek medical attention

Regulating emotions does not mean the absence of anger, frustration, or apathy. Nor does it mean never showing those traits. It's merely a state of not letting those emotions overtake psychological balance and wellbeing. To equate being critical of a football program with emotional immaturity is childishly out of touch.

This Old Ag agrees 100% with the team issues you mentioned. And MyAgBros and I are now not going to the Cotton Bowl…no interest in convicts v. tOSU.

Depressed? No

Annoyed? Yes

But not because our football team **** the bed..... I pretty much knew that was a foregone conclusion

I'm annoyed bc all the dorky sunshine pumpers were super obnoxious this year

They've gone from being semi******ed ultra-positive cheerleaders into some kind of hive mind wannabe internet tough guy brigade

They cry & bleed all over every thread & all the while they accuse people having actual discussion of crying

Truly a very strange phenomenon

You should be used to it by now.

We always wait until the biggest possible stage and then promptly urinate down our leg.

The more we won the more I knew we would even crash harder.

Losing to the only team that it's unacceptable to lose to in Austin…. then embarrassed at home in the playoffs with our "high flying" offense doing absolutely nothing.

That's exactly according to script.
