Okay: being upset your team lost, the manner in which they lost, the timing of the losses, the location of the losses, and circumstances of the coaches of your team.

Not okay: allowing any of the above to impact how you show up for yourself, your family, your work

Where I come from, we don't get depressed over teams that finish 3rd or 4th in district/conference and can't beat their rival. We just expect the next class to step up and be better! And hire a new coach if they get out coached in the biggest games more than a few times.

People thinking you're a "man" because of a perceived stoicism in response to sports are comical.

Children can't regulate their emotions because they have not learned that life skill. Some here are still working through this. It's not a man thing so much as an adult thing.

Regulating emotions does not mean the absence of anger, frustration, or apathy. Nor does it mean never showing those traits. It's merely a state of not letting those emotions overtake psychological balance and wellbeing. To equate being critical of a football program with emotional immaturity is childishly out of touch.

That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the lashing out about how our players suck, our coaches suck we will never win, and other general boo hooing.

Remember that feeling the entire week after the Missouri game? 9-0, embarrassed both LSU and Mizzou in their houses, Ags getting some #1 votes, Heisman talk for Marcel and KC, best OL in the nation, Cassius leading the nation in sacks, Elko touted as the Savior, etc.

Just pause the movie there. Smile. Don't press play, don't fast forward. Yup thats it lol

Yeah let me rephrase. I've had a wonderful Christmas and am not literally depressed about college football.

But I catch myself flashing back to the game. And imagining Carson Beck preparing to play another game…. Imagining the smug whorn fans laughing.

Finishing 0-2 to tu and then the way we lost to a pedestrian Miami offense has me randomly shaking my head while driving in the truck.

The bolded is your problem. You have an obsession with sip. Let it go. It doesn't matter. It's a bunch of kids who don't know you exist. Your life doesn't have to be validated by their successes and failures.

Life validation??

I'm annoyed by losing to a rival and scoring 3 in a playoff game. I wish my team won but they lost. I like when my team wins.

You started a thread over a week after the game about how its still bugging you.

Step 1 is admitting you have a problem. Yours is the validation you seek of the mean longhorns who obviously verbally bully you because your team lost to theirs.

" What in the heck is this??? Elko makes $70M, our key players make more than most of us, and $500 a ticket isn't a little money."

Tv is free. Aggie fans continually paying for this product is part of the issue.

- Klein checked out and the offense lost confidence
- Marcel Reed regressed due to see above
- Elko flubbed the QB spot because he either had no NIL money to get a passable backup who could make up for Marcel's poor development or he really is too stubborn

But you know what they say, or at least what Randy Travis said:

lol exactly. Relative to the amount of time they put in, a four year full ride scholarship is more than enough compensation to play a game. Adding to that what they get now and I have absolutely no sympathy for any of them, players or coaches.

Missed opportunities and falling flat on the big stage are nothing new to this program.
Doesn't matter the players or who the head coach is.
8-4 is on the horizon next year and we will slide back into mediocrity and soon be looking for our 7th head coach in 25 or so years.

Get your licks in now

This is a real program

Nothing changes but the dates on the calendar and the name on the door with this program.
The more you understand that the better off you'll be.

Have you ever counted the amount of hours you've wasted in life as a t-shirt sip posing as an Aggie? It seems unhealthy and counterproductive, but then again, maybe that's all you have purpose wise!?

I am like others; more pissed and put off than depressed.

Not watching any of the bowl games or the rest of the playoffs. Just don't care.

Honestly no I don't care that much. It sucked for a few hours and then just shrugged it off. I was not playing and not coaching and none of them would have cared what I thought so I figured why be upset.

Until we go 7-5 or 8-4 next season.

you are really shocked about the how season ended? Have you been paying attention to Aggie football over the last 30 years?

Seriously. If you expected ANY other outcome than a shyt the bed type of performance, than your maroon colored glasses are tinted a little too dark.

Nope, I've gotten over it. It sucked, but at the end of the day we finished 11-2 with a second year head coach. Our program seems to be trending in the right direction, though I doubt we'll have more success next year with a harder schedule and a large loss of talent.

How are we trending in the right direction when we lost our last two games and you're already predicting that we don't do as well next year? Doesn't sound like a trend in the right direction.

Our program seems to be in better shape this year than last year. Losing the last two games sucked, but they were also against some of the most quality opponents we've played this season. In contrast to last year, where we lost to a bad Auburn and middling USC team.

A better program doesn't necessarily mean more wins though, especially with a tougher schedule. And though I don't expect us to be 11-2 or better next year, I also didn't expect it this year. So let's hope this program continues to raise expectations.

Manage your expectations. I could tell by halftime that the team was going to lose. Went took a shower after the 3rd quarter, got dressed, checked the TV (yep, we lost), and then went and had a wonderful evening with my wife. Emotional divestment is the key to watching Aggie football. Or you'll get kicked in the nuts, every time.

If the Tards lost to Oregon, there will be a loud outcry for why we ranked a team so high who played nobody nonconference, and who played in a joke of a league.

The sips you hear, you can just smile. It's all they have. They were irrelevant this year. But they won their Superbowl. Let them talk. Remember when we used to be the team just hoping to upset our rival while they went on to play for something meaningful? That's them now.

I think the problem is the team regressed to the point where you question hoping to get better. SC, TX, and Miami finished the season very poorly. The team had everything to play for. Makes you question everything.

It's one thing to get beat when the team plays well and it is hard fought. It is another when they just don't play well over the last three games of the season.

Depressed is a strong word but questioning everything is where I'm at.

That being said, if someone would have asked me at the start of the season, would you take 11-2 and making the playoffs, I would have resoundingly said yes!!!
