The OP was covered in a commercial.

The OP's a casual!

Casual what? This forum or Aggie football?

I'm on the football form quite often.

I've been attending Aggie football games for 41 years, season ticket holder for 37.

I've seen it all. I even go to a many away games. Notre Dame was fun this year.

But sure. I'm casual.

Downplaying the importance of winning a national championship. Some Aggies just can't help but to Agggy This must be the BAS version 2.0 where we now pretend winning it all isn't all that important. Some of you define special.

Some of us would like the team not to show its ass every single time the lights get bright.

No one's down playing the importance of national championship, but without looking it up, who won it three years ago seven years ago, you probably can't tell me. And even if you can so what, all starts over each year anyway. You're only as good as last year's news.

Programs laud their national championships over other teams, and good for them for winning it, but does it even help with the recruiting in the end? Especially the way everything is now with NIL, they're going to transfer in and out anyway. Dynasties are gone. Which that's a good part of it.

I truly enjoy watching college football even when it's not my team. Now people are so hyper-focused if a game is not completely perfect and you don't become the ONE team that wins the national championship it's garbage. I truly don't know why some of you even watch Aggie football anymore if that's the way you feel.

People can want both a national championship and still enjoy supporting Aggie football and a winning season. This isn't even hard. But if you want to pretend that we're not wanting to win you are sadly mistaken, and focused on your own narrow-mindedness. But that was not the point of this thread.

People have been upset the last few years at our 75, 85 seasons we get an 11-1 season, are one of 12 teams that go to the CFP and you're still not happy. And Saturday sucked as far as the football went, I wish we were advancing but you're pretending that winning is ALL that is important. There's a difference.

Some of you will just never be happy. And that's on you.

How very zen of you….. let's just work on being concise.

Going 11-0 was amazing. Ending the season 11-2 with an embarrassing loss at home? Pathetic. To not grasp how this upsets people indicates, as was mentioned earlier a somewhat casual view of A&M football.

It was great to make the playoffs but the lasf two games ruined it. If history is any indicator, it'll be years before we get another opportunity in the playoffs. This was the shot and it was wasted. Next year we're likely not winning 11 with the schedule we have.

Also, I'll always think Klein screwed this up a lot like Schloss. You can't be distracted at this level without risk of missing something.

I posted this on another thread here, but I'm gonna give it its own. And all of you can come at me with whatever you have. I really don't give a flipping floop. Of course everyone's entitled to their opinion, So sick of the whining and self-pity.

I don't get the obsession with the national championship. I mean yes ONE team a year gets to reach that point and it would be lovely if we did, but I watch Aggie football for so many more reasons than just a national championship and I don't define my life around it even though we've had season tickets for 40 years.

People are so hyper-focused on it these days. It's like nothing else matters. How about enjoying football and college football for the sake of it in addition to wanting to win. Of course it's the goal same with any sport, but it isn't all or nothing.

To each their own, but your lives would be a lot less miserable if you just enjoyed supporting your team and football and if we win one again someday that would be awesome. Honestly, the hunt for it to me is almost just as exciting. We never know a week a week which teams will play well which teams will play badly.

Why do you think you guys keep coming back every year? Because of the hope that we may get there in addition to supporting our Aggies.

Some of you may just need to quit watching the Aggies. Just go do something else with your life because it's short enough as it is it's not worth getting this upset over. Take it from me, I've lost several loved ones in my life recently. All y'all do is come on here and whine and ***** and moan about something that is not going to change your life at all.

That said I was extremely disappointed yesterday. It was not a good performance. They are not mutually exclusive.

And I know here come all the posts about it's mediocrity and we demand better and you don't understand and it's this attitude that has us where we are blah blah blah enough already ****ing enough.

A sport such as football, especially college football should not make you this miserable. Enjoy it for what it is as well.

12 teams get into the CFP. We were one of them.
11 of them will not win the championship.

I will always support my Aggies. For those of you that don't want to, fine, see ya.

It's not about winning or losing. It's about representing well. And what we all saw Saturday was not A&M football. That's what should bother you. If you lose that's fine. If you look like you weren't prepared, that's far worse than a loss.
