Let's just face it, we aren't that good. Sure, we have our fleeting moments and make good plays and score points from time to time, but when the rubber meets the road, we just suck and we just need to face the facts that we are mediocre at best and always will be. We always have and we always will be. That's just the way Aggie's are.

I disagree that it's set in stone that we always will be bad. All it takes is some semi smart people running the football program that demand more than the current crop of clowns do.

1939 says hi!!! No conference championships since a 2OT upset in 1998 also give its regards.

You little pansies are just being ridiculous at this point.

He's literally quoting the statistics, and he's the pansy. Wow. Our fanbase collectively has no idea.

Anyone able to show any statistics as to how we should be considered a tier 1 program?

Here is google's definition of top tier 1 program.

A top-tier, elite program consistently contending for national championships, boasting massive resources, national brand recognition, and a history of high-level success, often defined by winning conference titles or making playoff runs, with teams like Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, Michigan, and Notre Dame frequently cited as examples by fans and analysts.

So only a handful of tier 1 teams yet you are complaining since we went 11-2 this year (beat one of those tier 1 examples).

Seriously, what did you expect this year? Did you come into the season expecting a natty?

No obviously I expected 8-4. We had a good year, unfortunately our record is not indicative off our level of play. Period.

I expect to get better as the season moves forward. We did not, again.

Oh and Elko is currently 0-4 against Sark. That is gonna have to get fixed. Quickly, like next year.

How cute of Google. Notre Dame hasn't won a title since Lou Holz at the helm almost 40 years ago. They have ZERO conference championships. But hey, they have a bunch of Catholic t-shirt fans, so yeah, tier 1. Georgia had 1 title in 42 and one in 88 before Kirby arrived. So is it the case you can move in and out of tier 1 status?

We were definitely overrated. If it weren't for the softest schedule we've had since joining the SEC we wouldn't have been in the CFP. Our defense is great but Miami's is better. We have a good offense and Marcel > threat than Beck and yet they held us to three f'ing points.

sips, LSU and Notre Dame were 17-0 at home this year excluding Ag games. Yet we gave 2 of them their only home loss.

I mean as bad as it sucks we were definitely better this year.

Those crying the most are the same ones that predicted an 8-4 season this year.

Most years this same team would be 9-4. We had a big break with ND kicker missing that PAT and Reed slinging it for the comeback against SCe. 8 or 9 years out of 10, we loose those two games and a bowl game to finish with 9-4 record. So, we had a great year. Enjoy it. But don't fool yourself into believing this is a better than 4 loss team most years. And next year will be most years.

Moss was our run game. Once he was injured, our offense never looked the same. We had a few games early on when Reed struggled, but Moss put the load on his shoulders. Without Moss, Reed's weaknesses couldn't be hidden, and our offense was exposed.

We've gotten better, but we're nowhere near championship level. We need more consistent OL and QB play and a complete overhaul on special teams. We have ****ed up so many field goals and punts this year it is unreal.

I had the honor of meeting John David Crow (RIP) when he visited the MSC during the JFF days. He was a hero of my mom and in our home. When there was a moment to shake his hand, I let slip my disappointment in what I thought the direction, politically and culturally, our university was heading and that these New Army Aggies seem to be growing not understand nor care for our traditions and what makes Aggies Aggies. He told me if I ever saw a NA 2% boot licking libtard whine about being an Aggie, to figuratively (not literally folks), give them a good wallop with the back of you hand across their air hole to get the ingrate weakling to shut TH up.

So as a promise to the great JDC, this is the problem we Aggies have. "Oh, we're not 'good' (whatever that means) - this football stuff is tooooo hard. I'm gonna just going to go to the library on Saturday and do my meta-feminism cross-sectional comparative literature paper on furries" instead of keeping the traditions that make Aggieland a special place. Don't be a p*$$!e brah. That wasn't the attitude of the 1939 National Champions. Was this the outcome we wanted? Not for this game. But a CFP birth is a good building block for something special here. The sips, whining like babies whose lollipops were stole because they couldn't bribe their way into the playoffs for once, were sitting on their a$$e$ jealous watching us in a marquee game. And EVERYONE saw we were ROBBED by that small xii referee crew. If you're ashamed because we lost, don't blame being an Aggie...BLAME THE REFs. Are you blind???

If you can't unf#@k your attitude and just be a wet blanket, then you might be right. We may not be that good ever, but that would be an outcome of craven self-fulfilling NA 2% loser attitude.

This **** right from our fan base is exactly why we will always be 8&4 except that 1/10 year. The whole 2% thing has the opposite effect than what you think.

But you do you, boo. You wanna support mediocrity so who am i to stop you.

I love the mindset that if Aggie fans were only mad enough about things on a game-to-game success it would eventually push us to greater things.

The same standard could apply to a number of CFP teams. A few had arguably easier schedules.

Dude we are tier 2. The last time we won a national championship was 1939. The last time we won a conference championship was 1998. From a success standpoint what about us screams tier 1?

Very true! The line between good and great has never been more clear than right now. We are a 11-2 and still not great. How crappy is that? A good 11-2 team, sounds like a colossal waste of time…HOWEVER, if Elko can turn this into a raging inferno and build off of it, that line between great and good can get erased.

We had a good season. We are top of the middle tier pack in the SEC. There are tons of teams at the bottom who would love to be in our position.

The teams at the bottom don't have your resources is the difference. The fanbases also tend to be completely different.

The issue is:

1. We had a veteran OL. We won't have that next year.
2. We had an easy schedule. We won't have that most years.

That was the main difference. If we had last years schedule, we probably still go at most 9-3.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

I feel pretty sure that the relative strength of conference schedules is what slotted Ole Miss ahead of us. It's not anything that could be helped, but only 1 of the 8 SEC teams we played ended up with a winning conference record (Missouri was 4-4). Of the 7 teams that had a losing conference record, we played 6, including all 4 of the teams that were 1-7 or 0-8.

The likelihood of our schedule being that (relatively) soft again is pretty damned low. We will have to be significantly better next year to even get close to an 11-1 mark…guess we'll see.

Mike Elko has a lot of serious work to do to make sure we progress next season and not go back into the 8-4 middle and be the best looking horse in the glue factory !
