I disagree that it's set in stone that we always will be bad. All it takes is some semi smart people running the football program that demand more than the current crop of clowns do.

firethewagonup may not be an Aggie. But is he wrong? I used to think so, but after about 50 years I'm not so sure.

We are a tier 2 program, as much as we hate it.

This year was bipolar. Elite-inspired play by national contenders then sloppy play for large swaths of time. When we clicked watch out, when we looked like a #18 team lord have mercy.

We never played a complete game and struggled against some weak teams. The hope was that we'd click eventually but finally ran out of luck.

Year 3 of Elko is where we get a 100% taste of where we stand as a program. Yes, as of right now we are not a tier 1 program but we are going to see what Elko made out of his first recruiting class next year.

We had a good season. We are top of the middle tier pack in the SEC. There are tons of teams at the bottom who would love to be in our position.

No conf titles in almost 30 years.
No natty in almost 90
We average ~7 wins a season historically.

What is the argument we are not a tier 2 program when it comes to results?

NO! There were times today when we were in scoring yardage but found a way to ef it up!!! The score should have been A&M 20/ Miami 3 at half time. We had the ability to win this game, however, a wrong play called or player lapse of concentration or execution stopped it. It seemed the only way A&M truly moved the ball was in the air. The OC was bound and determined to run the ball. Unfortunately, we were stopped many times close to the line of scrimmage, whether it be behind or beyond. That should at least told a hardheaded OC something ain't working plus it got Moss hurt again today. Maybe the change of the OC will help.
BTW- Moss is a great back up quarterback!

This team was good. They were not great. This take is terrible. Emotional and terrible. Enjoy the season, it was a success. Let's see what Elko cooks up over the summer. Gig-em Ags!

This team is just OK. They beat the teams they were supposed to beat. But when faced with equal competition and athleticism they failed.

Then we are improved from previous years. Because every season we ALWAYS drop at least one game against an inferior team. Maybe did this year against tu though

Defense and especially 3 rd down defense is that good and we are better on offense and no reason to think we can't be better next year

We paid Jimbo almost 100,000,000 to go away
Elko inherited program with lots of issues and he is fixing them

If the #7 isn't a 'tier 1 program,' is 'tier 1' only the top 6? Or maybe top 4 or 3?

The frustration is that, considering all of the funding our program gets, no Ag alive has seen the team reach their full potential. But Elko's full season results are trending upward.

Let's give the man some time. When the trend line regresses, that's when we start raising cane.

We ain't Georgia so I guess that makes us tier 2 in the SEC

We went 1-2 vs teams we were relatively equal to.

We usually go 8-4/7-5, because we face 5-6 of those teams.

This schedule was historically bad.

We weren't really any better this year.

Here is google's definition of top tier 1 program.

A top-tier, elite program consistently contending for national championships, boasting massive resources, national brand recognition, and a history of high-level success, often defined by winning conference titles or making playoff runs, with teams like Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, Michigan, and Notre Dame frequently cited as examples by fans and analysts.

So only a handful of tier 1 teams yet you are complaining since we went 11-2 this year (beat one of those tier 1 examples).

Seriously, what did you expect this year? Did you come into the season expecting a natty?

Probably wants to hang "CFB Playoffs 2025" on the wall inside Kyle Field.

Just sitting here wondering how nice it would be with a gifted night game against the bottom seeded playoff team which happens to be G5. Or even a mid-afternoon game against the second lowest seeded playoff team, also G5. These have been incredibly intriguing match-ups.

yes they are. Last years Aggies would have lost a few.

sips, LSU and Notre Dame were 17-0 at home this year excluding Ag games. Yet we gave 2 of them their only home loss.

I mean as bad as it sucks we were definitely better this year.

Those crying the most are the same ones that predicted an 8-4 season this year.
