The people that actually believe there might be a legit responsible reason. Bruh.

But that's an assumption. Once again, not defending him but assumptions are not necessarily reality.

I can't see his Instagram, maybe someone can imbed it. But one of our great journalistic institutions quoted the text:

Quote:

"I will have plenty more to say about what transpired yesterday. There is almost nothing on this earth that would have made me miss that game. To all the people that genuinely reached out and checked in on me I cannot thank you enough," Manziel wrote on Instagram.

"To ESPN, Pat (McAfee), Coach (Nick Saban), Desmond (Howard), and the entire crew on GameDay, I apologize it was out of my control. To the Aggies and A&M fan base, I'm sorry. I will continue to let everyone out there run with a fake narrative and at the end of the day, perception always wins over reality. I love all of you who genuinely support me through (the) good and bad like you've all done for years. I have no doubt Texas A&M and the Aggie football program will be in that position again. I'm recovering and feeling about a 3/10, going to rest up and try to and get back to normal."

Is this actually the story, or just speculation from our "fans"? Not defending the guy, just haven't seen anything of substance to confirm.

Yes, Manziel really didn't show up. Yes, he really was in Miami the night before.

If his flight were delayed, he would have 100% said that. So it's only reasonable to assume he partied to hard to make his obligation.

Plus if your flight is delayed, you call the ESPN producer and they come set you up with a live remote literally anywhere so you can be on - your hotel room, an airport lounge, the local ABC station - it's not like technology doesn't exist. I'd be surprised if he was even awake when gameday was on.

So he still never gave a reason as to why he missed it? Seems like if it was his flight getting cancelled he would have said so.

ESPN had the private jet in Miami for him ready to go and he didn't show up.

Sad but true.

Dude peaked at 20 and has been a disappointment ever since. I'm surprised he even still gets invited to the cool clubs and parties

Dude may have washed out as an NFL QB, but it appears he's a world class partier…. ; /

If you look at the bottom of his message, he said he's feeling like a 3 out of 10 and is resting up to get back to normal. So he is insinuating he was beset by a sudden illness or health emergency between the Jake Paul fight (10pm the night before) and his flight.

We don't know what actually happened, but he's overdone it and missed commitments many times before. If I could bet on this on polymarket, that's where I'd put my money this time too.

The funny thing is that there are people who will actually believe that bull*****

He's an addict. His behavior is textbook. And completely transparent.

He's a POS human being and only cares about A&M when it benefits him personally or financially. Been obvious for years. I was done with him a while back.
Even if he had a 100% legitimate reason for missing Gameday, he's got a long enough history of flaking and screwing people over that it wouldn't matter.

He's an embarrassment to our school and to all of us who work so hard to perpetuate the Aggie legacy handed down to us through the generations.

Johnny was in Dallas on Thursday night with his family for his sister's birthday.

Johnny was at the Jake Paul fight in Miami on Friday night. That fight ended around midnight.

How do I know this? Because he posted it himself on his instagram.

So rather than staying in Texas on Friday - he flew to Miami, where he knew he'd be out late for the fight. Maybe he had arrangements with a private jet - regardless, he knew any plans he had would be cutting it close, plus he'd have to appear on television with the effects of the night before lingering.

But because Johnny is an idiot and couldn't turn down a single night of partying (when literally its his entire life)... he missed a chance to appear in a massive television spot with Pat McAfee and Gameday to a gigantic audience. Since his only income comes from things like endorsements and influencer status - i.e. relevance... what would've been the smarter move to make?

But that's who he is. He's selfish, has zero awareness or accountability, and he's also a moron. Now he's trying to manipulate people with some bull**** excuse and trying to garner sympathy claiming he's sick or something... the fact is he was 3 hours away from College Station and couldn't help himself by going to Miami and partying. And it probably cost him the last bit of goodwill he had with A&M as well as burning the bridge at ESPN.

I'll always appreciate him for his run at A&M, but his bull**** has worn thin.

This sums it up. He's a completely self centered hedonist and behaves exactly like you'd expect one to behave. At this point, if you rely on him for something important, that's on you.

It's his life, but it's a shame that somebody with as much talent as he had wasted it because he decided that partying was the be all end all.

He's diseased.

It isn't an excuse but it is a constant struggle.

Some will hate it because it constantly disappoints and none more than those suffering from it. It'd be nice if all things in life were easy decisions that were followed through as originally decided.

More like he got wasted the night before, had a massive hangover, and missed his flight.

The guy missed because he's an irresponsible manchild who doesn't care about how his decisions and actions impact others.

I hope the program discretely asks him to stay away from Aggie football after this. It's time

You hope it is something like he got the flu or whatever- but it's hard to see why if that was true, he would have just said that.

His very wordy statement, plus his history, sure seems like he had another bender.

I truly think he was one of the top five most spectacular college players to watch, and he by himself probably got Sumlin and Kingsbury 10s of extra millions.

But it's sad to see what his life has become. Pretty soon the rest of the Browns money is going to be gone.
