People have been assuring us he'll play for the last several games, so clearly nobody knows what they're talking about. At this point, I'm not expecting him to play. People won't want to hear this, but even if he comes back, we saw with Owens last year that he likely won't be himself yet anyway.,

Last several? That is not true. Nobody expected him to Play against Samford. South Carolina would have been too soon. The thought was maybe he could be ready for Texas but obviously he wasn't. We were guaranteed a playoff spot going into that game so maybe Elko figured why risk it then.

Championship mentalities don't play to lose. You honestly think Coach and the team just said "F it! We don't want a conference championship? F it, we don't want a first round bye!"

Maybe that's it. Moss's NIL is a cut of local business. The Chamber of Commerce is cutting him in on the hotel take from an extra weekend of previously unplanned hotel stays. I bet all the waiters and waitresses in town are cutting him in on tip share too!

I didn't say Elko played to lose...I said he didn't think it was worth the risk to play Moss in a game that did not end our season if we lost. The game this weekend is literally an elimination game, that is when you are more likely to risk it.

Don't get me wrong. I really like Moss, and he has shown to be really good when healthy. But I don't get all the hyperbolic speculation about his impact on the game. He IS a good college RB. But he's not a game-changing type like Reggie Bush, McCaffrey, or Barkley.

He is quite literally a game changer for us. He's not top 5 in the country but he's the only one on our team with size and speed that can also run through linebackers on short yardage. Without him we are not in the playoffs because we lose at ND. So yes, he is a game changer.

There's no way a guy that's forgoing the playoffs for the draft would be practicing. He's either playing or is still unwell enough to play.

Nah. Both are most definitely evaluating his draft status.

If he plays again and gets hurt again, his stock will drop like a rock. If he sits out and dazzles at his pro day, it can mean millions $$$. Depends on if scouts feel if they have enough game tape to get him in the early rounds.

Yup. Think about this scenario as if you are his dad or mom. Gives a very different perspective.

Without Moss Klein is going to have to be better than he has been to this point. Going to have to get creative to create any kind of running game.

Figure out how to run with KC, maybe Bussey, and definitely Marcel. Can't put all your eggs in clumsy Ruben's basket.

What a stupid thing to say. He's either playing and Elko is being strategically cagey, or the injury was much more serious originally.

Or he's saving himself for the NFL. Tell us what you think is more logical?

The guy is not going to be a very high draft pick. He hasn't played a full healthy season. Much more to gain for him playing and showing he's healthy than sitting and letting the narrative be he's always hurt and never there by the end of the season. Any one advising him telling him different is a moron.

Playing one more game will do nothing but risk another injury. He'll use the combine to show he's healthy.

Big Money's NIL dollars well spent...

This is what happens when there are no rules.

That's straight Bevo Bull ____.
So Elko kept a viable player benched because beating our most hated rival, going 12-0 in regular season, and not getting to play for a conference championship (and a first round bye) wasn't playoff necessary.

Sorry, not sorry, but I'll repeat, that's a loser mentality.

If Moss was ready to go he would have suited up. Then it's a decision of putting the best 11 players on the field. So is he no longer a starter or even 2nd string? Or was he not medically ready? Tell you what, if you're so confident in your "we didn't need to win that game, march down to Rudy's on Wednesday night and tell Coach you've got it all figured out.

I'm saying he wasn't ready to go you nimrod, I literally said that in my first statement that you responded to. Elko didn't want to risk him until either he was 100% ready to go or if it's an elimination game like this weekend.

Talk about reading what you want to and not actually understanding my point.

The combine is the most stupid exercise in all of sport. Don't get hurt playing football so you can save yourself for non football exercises to prove you can play football.

Go tell that to the NFL. They're only the most popular and successful league ever created. When the NFL invites you or wants to evaluate you at your pro day, thst player betterdamn well take it seriously.

If Moss runs a 4.3 at the combine or pro day and his knees check out healthy, his draft stock will go up significantly.

Heck Isaiah Spillar went in the 4th round and hes not in the same class as Moss talent wise.

Moss if he doesn't play is just not healthy enough yet.

There is a 0% chance if he was planning on sitting out to save himself that he'd be practicing. You can easily hurt an ankle in practice to. Just in that video clip the little spin he does to catch the swing pass someone could roll a hurt ankle. If he's participating in practice he's trying to play. Period.

Those of you who thought Moss wasn't going to play, fell for the old banana in the tailpipe routine from Elko. He's been practicing on the field for a week now. He will have 2 weeks of full practices under his belt by the Miami game.

Watch the last 20 seconds of this video. Marcel says he's been practicing with the team. Video is from a week ago.
