To have 4 SEC home games in 2026 when we have ASU at home and 5 SEC home games in 2027 when we are on the road at ASU. Also to split up LSU and tu from being the same year.

Yes. It's to even the schedule out so we wouldn't have Mizzou/LSU/Texas all away or all home every year.

Had to do it to duplicate some matchups to make long term schedule work. The league didn't want to involve a rivalry game, so it was necessary to keep rotating venues with t.u. This happened early on in the SEC and in the Big 12 as well. Realignment plays a role as does the naming of the recurring opponents. horns host Hogs again next year.

Don't hate this overall but that final stretch is pretty tough

I think we need to start 7-0 if we want a realistic shot at making the playoffs

Only at lsu in those first 7 looks really tough

Go 7-0 then 3-2

Tech has been gifted a weak conference to dominate

But honestly we need to stop scheduling Power team OOC games because there's just no incentive to not take the easy win since that's all the committee cares about

If this year is any indication of the committee's view on late season losses, losing 2 of your last 5 really puts you at the mercy of the committee/hoping other teams are also losing. Miami went 4-1 in their last 5 and only made it in because they had a head-to-head win over ND immediately above him.

What a terrible home schedule

So get to play Bateman's defense in wk 3…nice. Lane will get a night game against us and he'll cream his pants over it.

Tough sched that definitely has 8-4 written all over it and don't like not having 2 bye wks.

I knew we would play 4 SEC home games in even years and 5 SEC home games in odd years because we have home games against Power 4 nonconference opponents in even years and road games against Power 4 nonconference opponents in odd years. Playing 4 SEC home games resulted in playing road games at LSU and Missouri in back-to-back years to evenly split the 6 rotating SEC opponents, but I am glad we are not playing a road game at Texas in back-to-back years. This means splitting home and away games with LSU and Texas every year instead of playing road games in both Baton Rouge and Austin every odd year.

I don't think the committee has any continuity from one year to the next on their criteria… which is obviously part of the problem. Who knows what will happen next season.
