ND playing maybe four teams with a winning record next year. They have no incentive to play any team with a pulse, just take their auto bid to CFP.

09/06 - vs Wisconsin (in Green Bay, WI)
09/12 - Rice
09/19 - Michigan State
09/26 - at Purdue
10/03 - at North Carolina
10/31 - vs Navy (in Foxborough, MA)
11/07 - Miami (FL)
11/21 - Boston College
TBA - SMU
TBA - Stanford
TBA - at Syracuse
TBA - vs USC

I think next year's home/away schedule is more balanced than this year's schedule.

1. We won't be playing road games on back-to-back weeks, and our road games at South Carolina on 10/24 and Alabama on 11/7 will be split with a bye week on 10/31.

2. We won't go for more than 4 weeks between home games against Citadel on 10/17 and Tennessee on 11/17.

3. We will get two SEC home games in November for the first time since 2022.

4. No November cupcake games for the first time since joining the SEC, outside of 2020.

However, there are 3 things I don't like about next year's schedule.

1. I don't like how we are going for 6 weeks between SEC home games against Arkansas on 10/3 and Tennessee on 11/17 because of a home game against Citadel on 10/17 and consecutive road games at South Carolina on 10/24 and Alabama on 11/7 split with a bye week.

2. Also, the last 5-game stretch is brutal because it includes our toughest games against Alabama (away), Tennessee (home), Oklahoma (away), and Texas (home). We must start 7-0 to have a realistic shot at making the playoffs because we will probably be road underdogs at Alabama and Oklahoma.

3. I wish we can play our cupcake game against Citadel on 9/19 and a home SEC game against Kentucky on 10/17. That would have meant 2 SEC home games in October and 2 SEC home games in November.

About as good as you could hope for honestly. Snakey's 9 game conference schedule is the dumbest thing ever, though. SEC teams will eat each other alive and we'll get only 2-3 teams in the playoffs as a result.

So 4 out of our top 5 games are played on the road?!

Enjoy the playoff we've got coming up. Soak it all in as much as you can.

This may be our only dance. I remember being a freshman in 1998 and winning the Big XIi. I thought we'd always be contenders. Just enjoy the moment Ags.

So get to play Bateman's defense in wk 3…nice. Lane will get a night game against us and he'll cream his pants over it.

Tough sched that definitely has 8-4 written all over it and don't like not having 2 bye wks.

FBS teams are reverting to one bye week because there will be 13 Saturdays between Labor Day and Thanksgiving weekends. Most FBS teams had two bye weeks in 2024 and 2025 because there were 14 Saturdays between Labor Day and Thanksgiving weekends.

Repeating the road trips to LSU and Mizzou has been known since the 2026-2029 opponents and locations were announced September 23rd.

Was it explained why we are not playing them at A&M?
I don't recall hearing an explanation.

It's just the way this year's schedule worked out with who our "permanent" rivals are (Mizzou, LSU, sips). We played each of those three away this year. If we don't double up on away games in 2026 for at least two of those teams, then we would play all of our rival games at home one year and all of them away the next. I'm just glad they didn't double us up on away games against the sips.

Starting to think Texas tech has a much more intelligent approach to this college football thing

One of our 3 weakest opponents is techs toughest opponent

& the idiot show Cfp will still put them in the top 4 if they lose to em....

I understand the consternation over 9 SEC games, and I agree it is tough, but it's going to create legitimate 9-3 playoff teams.

9-3 doesn't deserve a NC shot imo

Why does it feel like we only ever get 1, maybe 2 if we're lucky, marquee games at Kyle each season?

Seems like a solid home schedule to me!

Good non-conf game with ASU
Easier SEC start with UK
Arky (finally at home!)
Citadel (cool change of pace with a military academy)

And even if we do get 4 teams in, they likely will be seeded below 1 loss teams from the big10 and Big12 that played much weaker schedules

When we start seeing 2 loss sec teams getting seeded ahead of 1 loss teams from other leagues then we'll know they are taking sos seriously

Oh boy, 9 game SEC schedules. Teams going undefeated in SEC play will pretty much be non-existent moving forward.

The 9th game is huge. Records are going to be consistently worse. My fear is this plays into the hands of the B1G and Big12, who have really bad middle and low tier teams.

Here's the list so far...

9/5 Missouri State
9/12 Arizona State
9/19 Kentucky
9/26 at LSU
10/3 Arkansas
10/10 Mizzou
10/17 Citadel
10/24 at Alabama
10/31 Bye
11/7 at S Car
11/14 Tennessee
11/21 at Oklahoma
11/27 tu

Don't hate this overall but that final stretch is pretty tough

I think we need to start 7-0 if we want a realistic shot at making the playoffs

Only at lsu in those first 7 looks really tough

Go 7-0 then 3-2

Who arer we losing to in the last 5?

Welcome to the SEC that hates us. BS conference and only loyal to the sips, bama, and GA. That's the only reason why games btwn those three are entertaining.

**** refs.
**** schedules.
Blatant favoritism of programs.

Why are we still here?

Sips got a hard schedule next year. Only lessened by ole Miss losing their coach.

We are here for recruiting. Our recruiting sucked before the SEC. Same reason Sips chased after us into this tough conference. Recruiting.

Well with that schedule we will at least know what we are

By this time next year, Elko will have proven himself to be the next great college coach, or we will be talking about buyouts

SEC should never have expanded with cow and OU IMHO. Stick with 14 teams and 8 games in a 6-2 schedule, but move Vandy and Mizzou to the west and Bama and Auburn to the East. Protects all the old school SEC rivalries. Then require 1/2 P4 opponent and 3/2 G5 opponents, no FCS.

The 16 teams necessitated the 9 game schedule as there was way too much time between playing opposing division teams both home and away or at all (aTm - UGA case in point).

The problem was never 14 teams, it was the 6-1-1 format. Why did we need to play USCe 10 times and UGA once?!?!!

Having the pointless game be in October is better than having it in November, I guess.
Jarrin Jay
How long do you want to ignore this user?
That is stupid thinking and a ridiculous statement. If we go 8-4 or 7-5 smart fans will be talking about roster turnover and a tough schedule and looking forward to improves and seasoned OL and DL to improve the team. Only over reactionary idiots would be talking about a buyout.

Incorrect.

If the CFP has taught us anything its that early losses are weighed less than late losses. Rather lose to "bama" in w2 than w11
