Notre Dame is in a real pickle

if BYU wins...they are out

if BYU loses...then does the Miami-Notre Dame head-to-head finally come into play?

Just win the rest of them. Simple as that.

BEAT THE HELL, AGS!

The Notre Dame matchup is undesirable. You never want to play a comparable team you've already beaten a second time. Plus, with Love on a tear, I don't like the matchup with our defense.

In short, we play #13 on the road…if we win, we stay undefeated and #3…if we lose we become the worst 11-1 team. Give me a break!

Meanwhile, the ******* sits there with a straight face justifying moving Bama because they beat Auburn. What a sham.

yes, the Notre Dame rushing attack vs. the A&M run defense is a very, very bad matchup for the Ags
Correct. Things will likely change, however, A&M still is most likely to play ND. If so, ND deserves to be about a 6pt favorite at Kyle. There is no reason to think this version of ND won't run for 250.

Have visioned a Norte Dame rematch, the powers that be don't think we earned the first win.

I feel sorry for you guys that have not accepted what committees do.

Once you accept it, you gain so much more peace in your life.

Instead of complaining and worrying with the 7 seed, I'm looking forward to prime-time matchup at Kyle.

And a quarterfinal game closer to home than the Orange Bowl!

The scenario where A&M doesn't even host is alive and well.

No it's not.

Let me guess. You have BAS.

No playoff team that could realistically come to Kyle for a playoff game will be 6 point favorites against the Ags.

How come us loosing our star running back has nothing to do with the "eye test". Such utter bull crap. The committee is like our government…. total FUBAR.

Yurachek just said ilde teams can be moved down or up for the final rankings after tonight.

FURK!

Of course that will happen. There's a lot of shock on this board right now related to our current placement or where we might end up next week. But come on guys, none of you are new to CFB or "committees" playing god with the fate of teams in the rankings and postseason.

We'll never be considered a cinderella team. Nor will we ever be considered a blue blood. Nor a flashy team of the moment nor one that "brings eyeballs".

So, A&M has no, absolutely NO, wiggle room. Ever. We have to win our games by larger margins than other teams do in order to impress these "committees". And we can't lose, ever. This committee has been waiting since the beginning to drop us. They'd love nothing more than to drop us completely out of the rankings. While that won't be feasible with just the one loss on our record, they will absolutely drop us as far as they dare.

Wow - this is a very interesting point - would love to see BYU drop after the loss. That would put miami and ND right next to each other. They would have to put miami ahead OR they would either keep ND ahead of Miami and be complete liars with no justification for keeping teams with same record in reverse order of who beat who - and be in complete opposition to tu/vandy ranking (even thought vandy has better record).

At this point - it is is almost like the formula is 10% weighting on the season everyone played as a whole, 10% on who has good wins, 1% on who you lost to and 71% on whatever the group of idiots personally feels is the ranking with no substance of support behind it.

it's wild

and moving Alabama up to #9 tonight was to protect the Tide if BYU pulls the upset (and Alabama loses)

I'm not sure why they made that switch. I was thinking last week they did not want a rematch of OU and Bama. But now they flip them and we two rematches.

They should try to avoid rematches in the first round.

We get the Indiana side of the bracket!

Infians plays ODU on Saturday. Either Indiana wins and more up or loses and moves down. I don't see how they stay at 2

That's why Oregon is at 5. They're the road block to how far they'd drop Indiana with a loss to osu. It's too justify keeping two b10 teams in the top 4 so there won't be 2 SEC teams in the top 4.

Didn't say they would, said they deserve to be. A&M and Texas are historically overpriced because their fans often bet them blindly. ND's run game, as constituted this moment, is likely the single worst unit matchup A&M could possibly face. Even Ohio State's defense against Marcel Reed is likely better for A&M than A&M's front seven against ND's OL, Love, and Price.

They ran for like 135 at 4.6 per carry at HOME.

Per Josh Pate about an hour ago, ND vs A&M would be a pickem per fanduel tonight.

If you really believe this, you should make a killing. if you really think Vegas overvalues A&M and tu by a 6 point margin, you could retire in a few years.

I think you're just venting though.

Y'all are real cry babies. We're number seven and in the playoffs. We lost the game we shouldn't have. It is what it is but most of y'all wouldn't have predicted this at the beginning of the year. Try to be happy once in a while.

The love affair with with Oregon and Texas Tech make no sense. Both us and Ole Miss have better wins . And stronger schedule.

Kinda like 2020. Lots of people don't like A&M. We get the short end of the stick 99 out of 100 times.

Elko needs to blast them or force the SEC commissioner to do it but that guy is a eunuch.

Oregon has played 3 ranked teams and 3 other p4 teams with winning records.

Tech has played 3 ranked teams and beat them all.

Now compare that to us. 2 ranked teams and 2 other teams p4 teams with winning records.

The only argument we'd have to suggest that the majority of our under .500 garbage on the schedule is actually good is compositive talent. Objectively and nationally that is a laughable claim.

The schedule was light. It's ok to admit it. If we're as good as we think, we'll win a home game. If not, this teams wasn't really that good anyway.

Sagarin, espn fei, and many other efficiency metrics suggest our strength of schedule was tougher than theirs.

It's not laughable by any means. I mean, if you are truly being objective.

Tech has done a good job dominating most of their games outside Arizona state. But Texas would go 11-1 if they played techs schedule. Maybe 12-0. I don't see a team that would likely beat us, either.

Florida would probably win 10. Not joking

I'm thrilled we made the playoffs. This is a good, not great team.

We played one team this year with more talent than us, and we lost. So it would have been nice to get a game in the playoffs that we should win on paper. As it stands now the most likely outcome is ending our best season in 30 years with back to back losses

My God, we didn't handle our business and something bad resulted again.

You're twisting words. I didn't say they were overvalued by six, I said ND is effectively 6 pts better. And, indeed, I've made a lot betting against A&M, historically. I also spent 25 years running a book.

Yep. Agree. It's BS.
So we play 30 minutes of bad football and lose by just 10 points and the messiah committee puts us at the bottom of all the other 11-1 teams. Pure horse *****.
