Someone said this recently… I can't remember where I heard it but I think it rings true. Arkansas hates Texas more than they like themselves. Blame their inept secondary but they didn't dive.
Arkansas fans may hate Texas that badly, but the Arkansas players probably don't care. They're all at Arkansas not because of the love of the school or the hatred for another school, but because of opportunities and NIL payments. With the athletes being strictly (and legally) professional these days, kids aren't picking schools because of where their parents went or because of rooting interest. They're picking based on where they can get the best financial situation. Something like two-thirds of the Arkansas roster has played football at some other school that has nothing to do with animosity toward the Longhorns.
And this isn't unique to the Hogs. It's consistent across the board from school to school. Rivalries these days are strictly for the fans. They players just want to perform, get paid, and prep themselves for the NFL.
But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
