No, it was a nice play but not even in the top 10 all-time.

There's many great plays but how many game winners?

McNeil to Porter. Fantastic. Not the game winner but it certainly helped

If this team makes the playoffs, the importance of the play significantly increases.

Visiting with old Ags last night at the game we were recalling games going back to the early 70s and 5 of us agreed this was the biggest road game win at the buzzer ever. Now @Alabama 2012 was a defining win and probably bigger for the program. And we certainly have had a lot of big SEC and Big 12 wins, more big game wins but mostly at home.

It we still had Tamuhighlights whoop cutting highlight vids - I'm pretty sure this game might go down as the greatest.

It was a great play, but it didn't outright win us the only conference championship we've had in the last 30 years.

It's up there with JFFs play at Bama.

These are my top 2.

1979

The last time we did this. With an ending like that it will always be remembered.

JFF recovering his own bobble and throwing the TD against Bama.

SP for the Big XII title.

The game-winner against LSU, because we could finally go to bed.

The FG to win against Bama at home (still convinced the Spirit of Solari came and blew it back good).

THE Hit.

I was there for that game too on that side of the stadium saw it live. That is still one of the most fun plays I've ever seen from our team.

That one is pretty hard to beat considering the situation.

My vote is for the "Texas Special" (1965)
  • Context:
In 1965, Texas A&M, under coach Gene Stallings, pulled off a clever trick play against their archrival, the Texas Longhorns.
  • The Play:
The play involved quarterback Harry Ledbetter tossing a short flare pass to flanker Jim Kauffman. Kauffman let the ball hit the ground and skip, then caught it, appearing to be disgusted with what seemed like an incomplete pass.
  • The Deception:
The defenders, unaware the pass was a lateral, did not realize the play was still live. Texas coach Darrell Royal had been tipped off by Stallings, who alerted officials to be ready for an inadvertent whistle.
  • The Result:
Kauffman then sprinted downfield for the longest pass play in Texas A&M history at the time, a 91-yard touchdown.

It tied the game. Splitting hairs but I think that's where the poster was going. Interesting take
