Natty=happy. No conf championships since 1998.

Who should be happy with the Aggie football program at this time?

(Not you but pumpers) Stop projecting that some of us are miserable in our lives bc we see it in the first few games each season: nothing has changed.

I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

Defense is very questionable, but can't be worse than last year.

Offense looks pretty good. QB been very good. Not sure how the OL will play vs a good team like ND. We'll see.

7-5 record likely, 6-6 is becoming not so far fetched. The team's likely ceiling is 8-4, with 9-3 or better being well below a 5% chance.

lol. Oh, it's not becoming far-fetched? LMAO. Saying that would only make sense after we got done losing to ND by double digits.

This team is playing for 7-5 right now with a big L coming next weekend. We need to start clicking on defense asap, I'm surprised an Elko defense looks this discombobulated going into year 2. Hopefully it looks a little different next Saturday.

Post game observation - We know very little.
- Today was better but not good enough.
- The talent is there on O.
- Defense is mid.

We will find out what this team is about next week in South Bend.

It's a glorified scrimmage you dolt. Our qb1 had an injury scare as it was. Let's run up the score on wins that don't matter and potential cripple the team for the season, so middle aged men can feel happier about wearing their Aggie gear.

Didn't try a single run wide, most between tackles, one or two around tight end…. Must be the hidden play for ND

For all the "UTSA is legit! Gonna give everyone trouble!" posts last week.... they are LOSING at half to Texas St. 19-14.

Reed QB Rating was his 3rd best with at least 10 attempts. His top 3 QB Rating games are now

191.5 - 2024 Florida
174.9 - 2025 UTSA
169.2 - 2025 Utah State

150+ is considered great in college.

I did think he wasn't as sharp in this game but still better than last year.

It cracks me up how people like you continue to say this. Is your point that if we're not happy with a sloppy ass win over a bad team, we'll never be happy with anything? Why would ANYBODY here be happy with that?

I'll be happy with Aggie football when we win some kind of championship. I don't see why that's so hard for the pumpers to understand.

Texas State should win and is a better team.

Plus UTSA just took the lead

Interesting. I just saw UTSA was a 3.5 point favorite.

You need cupcake dominance and perfection of imperfections.

This team would get smoked by Ohio State, Georgia, and all in the top 10.

These victories should not be celebrated, imo.

You either want a natty or not. Sunshine pumpers need to pound sand.

Yeah, a team like last year's Notre Dame in the national championship wouldn't possibly have a poor showing against a cupcake.

I'll be happy when we make the playoffs. Once that is accomplished, I'll be happy when we win it all.

I don't see a playoff team on the field right now.

A win is a win. However, Reed is still a big question mark.

He's unable to throw the long ball and threw behind his WRs at least 3 times on potential big play catch & runs. This WR room, however, can make him look great if things start clicking.

Serves us right. We kicked out Wiggy before he became the next Tom Brady.
He will win the Heisman in some years.

They want old Kyle Field back. If you give them that, 7-5 or 8-4 is fine

I tried to stay off here until the game was over. We have to keep improving as the season wears on. Probably played down to our opponent at times.

My observations

Reed was really good at times. His delivery and accuracy is improved. He still makes a few questionable decisions. Statistically, he was awesome, but still room for improvement IMHO.

OL under performing so far, feel like they need some fire under their rear ends in short yardage. Maul those guys, come on.

RB Moss is a stud. The other RBs are good, but I would not trust them in short yardage situations

WRs actually get separation. I have complained about this for a while, but this year there is separation. Looks like we have a good WR group, best in a while.

Defense is sometimes great, other times dreadful. Tackling needs improvement.

Real game coming up, so we better fix things. Season is still in front of us to do well, but there are some concerns.

The thing that bothers me the most is the mentality of this team. Just low effort from all but a few guys. No apparent desire to dominate or even finish the game. They will make a good play, the entire team will pat themselves on the back and celebrate and then follow that up with 3 low effort plays.

Above is what an 8-4 team does, which explains why we are consistently average. Cupcakes for good plays. yay. we won.

This is what National Title contenders do. They are up by 4 possessions in the 4th quarter with 7 minutes to go in the National Championship game. Almost all of the upperclassmen on the field are headed to the NFL draft. And a miscommunication on the snap results in the quarterback getting furious with his center for not being on the same page, forcing him to call a timeout that he felt he shouldnt have needed to call.

Mediocre teams will shrug this off. National title teams will demand the standard every single snap of the season, even if they are 7 minutes away from being crowned National Champions.

aggie football related because JFF whipped this Alabama NC teams ass, and if the entire team had that same fight, we would have been playing in this game instead of ND.

Loved it when Elko went out there in 4th and chewed ass. Defense shaped up. Probably 2nd or 3rd string guys, but they listened

His Florida performance was impressive. Looking back at the 24 football season, it seems obvious they didnt have an answer or game plan for him because of how new he was. *insert LSU*

Fast forward weeks later, Auburn/South Carolina had him figured out. t.u, and then USCw used that tape and the rest is history.

If Klein and the other coaches don't put their big boy pants on soon, its going to be a rough season when the SEC schedule starts

SO, the resident badasses on here complaining ad nauseum after ever damn game strike me as a poor man's version of Al Bundy from Polk High- PROVIDED y'all ever even played a snap on the field; IF 'all did play, it was probably b/c your Daddy constantly badgered the coach, complaining their son wasn't getting more snaps &/or opportunities to "showcase their talent"- LOL!! What's even more pathetic is most of y'all who did play definitely "peaked" while playing on the high school JV squad, or worse, in the 7th or 8th grade!!

I say this because y'all remind me & others of the "rah-rah" dip****s who gave "150%" effort at all times, not to improve your skill set, but to kiss the coaches' asses!! Those of us who did start & play in high school &/or at the collegiate level can spot your kind a mile away! If we weren't making fun of y'all, you can bet we HATED y'all for your reckless habit of tackling way too hard during routine drills or with complete disregard of a coach's command to only give 50% effort while the starters are learning to implement new plays or schemes! Plus, y'all only ever played in games during mop-up duty &/or in some benign role like kickoff or PATs. Meanwhile, y'all were ignorant that your gigantic ******bag antics were the source of ridicule; y'all were literally a Temu version of Notre Dame's "Rudy" (who BTW was a moronic idiot that was mocked & considered a JOKE by his teammates despite Hollywood's contradictory, fantasy portrayal of a 'never say quit' hero)!!!

Unfortunately, y'all still carry that inferiority complex to this Forum, as evident by your critiques & criticisms of the team's play, as y'all seem incapable of ever saying anything positive &/or criticizing a specific player or play when it's obvious to others your observations are unfounded & many times completely wrong!!

I'll go on the record that SOMETIMES y'all are 100% justified; for example, last year's South Carolina game was an absolute abortion, ESPECIALLY the tackling!! BUT, for these past 2 games, they meant absolutely NOTHING, but that didn't stop y'all from pot banging &/or accusing others of sunshine pumping when your assessments were proven erroneous!!! In fact, after week one's victory, A&M didn't even move up in the rankings! For tomorrow's rankings release, I bet we remain in the exact spot as the prior week (UNLESS we jump ONE spot if a team ahead of us should falter, although I bet we still stay at 19/22 while those teams that do falter drop down but still are ranked higher than A&M).

THEREFORE, why in the hell do y'all do the same schtick after each & every game, even when we win? Would y'all prefer Elko & staff expose our playbook before playing a road game against Rudy's alma mater simply to run-up the score? Further, applying a risk vs. benefit analysis, if our guys were flying around with reckless abandon on EVERY play trying to "Boom-Stick" the opposing team to create a highlight reel, but in the process, suffer a season-ending injury, was it actually worth it- ESPECIALLY since the team hasn't had a single season in the past 4 or 5 years where we didn't lose a key contributor to injury!!! In fact, we apparently have some dip****s on the team that do the same crap I mentioned above since we've lost most of our players during practices instead of injuries sustained in games!!!

So, for the love of all things holy, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE stop the 'Negative Nancy' posts; they aren't productive since Elko & staff damn sure aren't consulting TexAgs' resident 'Hall of Fame' athletes for ideas, & the chances a player &/or their family reading an uninformed criticism from our resident Uncle Ricos could actually negatively impact their confidence. Those kids are sacrificing A LOT for YOUR entertainment, so why in the hell do you want to tear them down?!?! Seriously, give it a rest, or better yet, go get laid or buy a puppy if you're truly that unhappy watching Aggie football!!

(RANT OVER; I APOLOGIZE FOR THE LONG DIATRIBE, BUT THIS TIRED TREND AFTER EVERY FREAKING GAME FINALLY TRIGGERED ME!!)

Feel free to share your own.

Our offensive line is not terrible, but it's not good enough to go on a playoff run this year. We can cross that possibility off the list.

Marcel Reed is inconsistent, doesn't see the field very well, and is slow to deliver the ball downfield. He also ran in a few situations where there had to be an open receiver somewhere. O'Neill is a better passer, but less trustworthy to run the offense. Once again we don't have enough certainty or dependability at the most important position.

Our pass defense wasn't fixed last week, and it's not fixed this week either. Tackling and overall effort in coverage were still poor, and we let too many receivers get open by 5+ yards.

Run defense was mildly better in the middle, but we were barely tested there at all so I don't take anything away from that. We are still awful at stopping plays out on the perimeter.

A good mobile quarterback is going to kill us.

A good offense with tempo is going to kill us.

Any well-executed misdirection is going to kill us.

Our receivers are badass despite the drops. Frankly they are underutilized. It's hard to say Craver, Bussey, and KC shouldn't each get 8+ touches per game.

The sacks were good to see, but setting aside the flash plays, I don't think we are consistently collapsing the pocket enough on pass plays. We need more consistent pressure.

The run game on offense was more of an emphasis, and we found a rhythm at times, but there are still significant questions about how effective we can be against a team with a good front 7.

Our kicking game is not very good. What the ****. Just make kicks. It's your one job.

A win over Notre Dame would shock me. There is no reason to believe we will win that game.

I still feel ok about my 7-5 prediction for now, but I am starting to wonder if I should have gone with 6-6.

First of all we need a field leader, I don't see anyone that will take charge and lead this team. We have players with ability, no doubt about it. I agree, O'Neil is a better passer and will get better with experience as an overall quarterback. Reed is same song same verse, he's about as good as he's going to get. At another position he can help this team. If this team ever makes up its mind to to put it all together they'll win a lot of ball games.
