lol. Oh, it's not becoming far-fetched? LMAO. Saying that would only make sense after we got done losing to ND by double digits.Sgt. Schultz said:
7-5 record likely, 6-6 is becoming not so far fetched. The team's likely ceiling is 8-4, with 9-3 or better being well below a 5% chance.

For all the "UTSA is legit! Gonna give everyone trouble!" posts last week.... they are LOSING at half to Texas St. 19-14.

You need cupcake dominance and perfection of imperfections.
This team would get smoked by Ohio State, Georgia, and all in the top 10.
These victories should not be celebrated, imo.
You either want a natty or not. Sunshine pumpers need to pound sand.

A win is a win. However, Reed is still a big question mark.
He's unable to throw the long ball and threw behind his WRs at least 3 times on potential big play catch & runs. This WR room, however, can make him look great if things start clicking.

Some fans want to win something like a championship for the first time since 1998.
I don't know what the hell other fans want.

The thing that bothers me the most is the mentality of this team. Just low effort from all but a few guys. No apparent desire to dominate or even finish the game. They will make a good play, the entire team will pat themselves on the back and celebrate and then follow that up with 3 low effort plays.

Reed QB Rating was his 3rd best with at least 10 attempts. His top 3 QB Rating games are now
191.5 - 2024 Florida
174.9 - 2025 UTSA
169.2 - 2025 Utah State
150+ is considered great in college.
I did think he wasn't as sharp in this game but still better than last year.

Feel free to share your own.
Our offensive line is not terrible, but it's not good enough to go on a playoff run this year. We can cross that possibility off the list.
Marcel Reed is inconsistent, doesn't see the field very well, and is slow to deliver the ball downfield. He also ran in a few situations where there had to be an open receiver somewhere. O'Neill is a better passer, but less trustworthy to run the offense. Once again we don't have enough certainty or dependability at the most important position.
Our pass defense wasn't fixed last week, and it's not fixed this week either. Tackling and overall effort in coverage were still poor, and we let too many receivers get open by 5+ yards.
Run defense was mildly better in the middle, but we were barely tested there at all so I don't take anything away from that. We are still awful at stopping plays out on the perimeter.
A good mobile quarterback is going to kill us.
A good offense with tempo is going to kill us.
Any well-executed misdirection is going to kill us.
Our receivers are badass despite the drops. Frankly they are underutilized. It's hard to say Craver, Bussey, and KC shouldn't each get 8+ touches per game.
The sacks were good to see, but setting aside the flash plays, I don't think we are consistently collapsing the pocket enough on pass plays. We need more consistent pressure.
The run game on offense was more of an emphasis, and we found a rhythm at times, but there are still significant questions about how effective we can be against a team with a good front 7.
Our kicking game is not very good. What the ****. Just make kicks. It's your one job.
A win over Notre Dame would shock me. There is no reason to believe we will win that game.
I still feel ok about my 7-5 prediction for now, but I am starting to wonder if I should have gone with 6-6.
