Florida football: Since Urban Meyer left after the 2010 season, Florida is 106-71 (64-50 SEC), but they made SEC Championship Games appearances in 2015, 2016, and 2020. Also, Florida finished with 10+ win seasons in 2012, 2015, 2018, and 2019. Will Muschamp, Jim McElwain, and Dan Mullen have all posted at least one 10+ win season at Florida and beaten Georgia at least once, but Billy Napier has never won more than 8 games or beaten Georgia. Since Billy Napier arrived in 2022, Florida is 19-19 (10-14 SEC), including 1-1 in bowl games.
Florida basketball: Under Billy Donovan from 1996 to 2014, Florida won back-to-back national championships in 2006 and 2007, was runner-up in 2000, reached the Final Four in 2014, and the Elite 8 in 2011, 2012, and 2013. Under Mike White from 2015-2022, Florida reached the Elite 8 once in 2017. Since Todd Golden arrived, Florida has gone from 16-17 (9-9 SEC) and NIT tournament to 24-12 (11-7 SEC) and first round loss to 36-4 (14-4 SEC) and national champions.
Florida baseball: Since Kevin O'Sullivan arrived in 2008, Florida has reached the College World Series in 9 of 16 seasons, excluding the canceled 2020 Covid season. Florida reached the College World Series in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2023, and 2024, and they won it all in 2017.
It takes a combination of the right coach and players to compete at the elite level. Hopefully, we got the football hire right in Mike Elko and the basketball hire right in Bucky McMillan. Even after a 2-1 series win over Tennessee, Michael Earley has not looked good so far because of 3-9 SEC record and 6 nonconference losses before conference play began against Alabama on 3/14.
