Sounds like poor decisions by the coaching staff by not screening the players better and having more options (you can't be dependent on one player).

He never really started with A&M (this would have been his first semester which literally just started), we don't know if he will return (or should I say begin) and if he does we don't know what state he will be in.

Coaches needed to upgrade the WR core this off-season. It's all about results, not excuses. Now maybe they get lucky with a WR from a playoff team at the last minute (getting bailed out), but currently we are set to lose net talent with our departures (especially losing Noah Thomas).

Not impressed with the direction, leadership nor the results this far.

From a player perspective, I wish him the best regardless and hope things get better. From a team focus (which is the focus of the forum / site), they need to assume he will never return (if he does great) and focus on upgrading the WR core (thus far I see downgrades).

It baffles me that there are so many people that stared this. Not trying to pick a fight with you but this take is not really accurate. We don't have elite talent playing at elite levels. We are having kids move on that at not producing other places. With the exception of King and Nolan who else has really done anything with a level of elite play. I don't think we're in disarray. We're just not very good yet. We need to keep taking kids from the portal that had potential to be better than the kids we have on campus. We can't control everybody that leaves for grass they think it greener on the other side. Noah Thomas left, but he's probably a number three wide receiver. He wanted number one wide receiver money. He wasn't worth it. Even Walter Nolan left because he wanted more money that we weren't willing to pay him. In my opinion, the defensive line underachieve this year, so he probably would've helped us but I'm not sure you would've helped us that much. We need to develop the guys that are here which is what we were doing. Our offensive line will be better next year. Our quarterback situation will be better next year. Our wide receiver situation will be better next year. Defensively we need to find some other lineman or develop the young guys we have. I trust that Eli will do what's needed there. Linebacker solid potential for a player to be all conference. Secondary should also be solid with some elite players. We are improving. It take consistency and we have to stop being one of the younger teams. We need an all senior offensive line with talent. We are headed that direction. We need a qb that is not in year one. It sure would be nice to have a consistent quarterback. It's a junior or senior and has been in the system for more than a year. One final thing. I don't wanna do anything like LSU. I just want to keep beating them!
