He's incompetent. Big making way more per school, and we gained nothing from adding schools because he botched that provision. He needs to be fired asap.

Going all in with ESPN was status quo thinking. The B1G thought bigger and brought multiple media outlets tot he table, getting a much bigger payout as a result.
Unless he is fired and replaced with someone capable of winning ALL of the major ACC pieces over to the SEC, then the B1G will decide how that eventual "merger" goes
My loyalty is to A&M not the SEC. If we are not playing for the national championship then I could not care less if the SEC has a school in the game. Of course I never want to see t.u. There so that's my in exception.

Yet I read somewhere that Sankey was belly aching about not enough SEC teams getting into the playoffs just before kickoff last night. He's been a joke for years but keeps pouring it on. He doesn't give a hoot about the competitiveness of the conference, only dollars and how it might affect his salary. Terrible selection when compared to his visionary predecessors.

Big picture chess, and as much as we hate the short term, I don't think we can deny the long term given the B1G power play and newly compiled national footprint.
All the people claiming it's purely an anti-A&M move are not seeing the forest because of all the trees.
Our university should be exploring our options of joining the big10.

I think the point was Snakey has destroyed the SEC to where it is no longer the preeminent conference that commands top broadcast dollars that are used to fund championship programs. You need the strong, well run conference to get the money to buy championships.
The BIG has figured it out and is running circles around Snakey because all he cares about is the fact that he got paid.

Exactly. Sankey wants to be commish of the merger. B1G guy wants to be commish of the merger. It's ABA and NBA. NFL and AFL. The one in power stays in power when the merger happens. They get to dictate which teams don't get to come as part of the deal. THAT is what is at stake, and the SEC is several steps behind right now. We need a clean sweep of the key ACC teams or it's over with for the SEC. It may be a slow death, but it will die.

Exactly. It's not about running from Texas or any of that other crap. I thought this idea was stupid just three years ago, but sankey doesn't seem to be the right guy. Maybe I'm wrong and the SEC runs the table on the key ACC teams, then I'll take it back but I don't see it happening. Maybe if we keep winning championships, but we're not even doing that now.

Sankey chose to get in bed with Texas and now the conference is dying of AIDS. Hope it implodes quickly.
The razorbacks, Mizzou tigers, Aggies and here of late the Ga bulldogs have already had a belly full of the sips. We've had reduced media payouts to accommodate them. The rest of the conference is taking a similar financial hit while the Big 10 adds playoff Media payoffs to its already flush Fox media payouts. And now the playoff teams are wanting are wanting larger payouts at the expense of the other conference members. It's a recipe for destruction of the conference
It won't take long for schools like Miss st, ole miss, Vandy, Kentucky etc to feel the pinch. No one wants their school to assume the position of perennial bottom feeders. Another couple of the other schools will fall to that level.
Look for more recruits to head west and north to play in the Big10 in coming years. ND is back on top thanks to the riches reaped from the 12 team playoff. They will contend for southern 5 star recruits. Needless to say only the top teams in the SEC will be able to play the NIL game with the big10.
