Ole Miss lost to Kentucky 20-17 at home on 9/28, and they turned out be the only Power 4 team to lose to 4-8 (1-7) Kentucky.

Why would he want to leave? He's already one of the highest paid coaches in college football. Compared to the big name programs of college football Ole' Miss is pretty low pressure. So long has he maintains what he's been doing, averaging 3.6 loses a year, he has pretty strong job security. This, and making a legit run for the playoffs every 5 or 6 years, and he's golden. He should just camp out in Oxford for as long as he can. Why risk all that going to a "big time" program where they will expect perfection on an almost continual basis?

Lane's had so many chances and never won it all anywhere. He's maxed out where he is.

I don't like him but no doubt he would do really well with our resources.

But his teams seem emotional like him and a bit Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. To crush Georgia and then lose to Florida was a bit of a head scratcher.

I was on the Lane train during our last hiring cycle. However, him not making the playoffs this year really knocked the shine off of him.

The guy won 1 more game in the regular season than we did.

He was expected to be in the playoff.

He lost to Florida, a team we beat. He lost to an LSU team we beat.

If we had Kiffin the only difference is you guys would pay attention to the losses instead of excusing them like you do since he isn't our coach.

Kiffin was at Tennessee and USC, how did he do there? They have resources.

Fact is he trips upward. They went all out for the playoff this year and he tripped again.

The Florida fan base has been pushing for Kiffin all year. They want him and they want rid of Napier.

It's interesting you state he would win here with our resources.

All 3 SEC games he lost this year was bc of coaching. Talent was not the reason. Their roster was plenty good enough to win the SEC. At least two of our losses were to playoff teams, two of them still playing.
