Reed has displayed some really weird accuracy issues this year. Several misses/wide throws on the easier passes, but can also thread the needle on other more difficult throws. Not consistent with the deep ball accuracy either.
Also appears to not see the whole field, and at times, he doesn't even look. Hope that's a fixable issue over one offseason.
Things seem to break down for him when he has to make more than 1 decision post-snap. Could be chalked up to him being young, but that absolutely must be fixed.
Definitely a warning sign that he and the offense were completely shut down for the 2nd half against SC and the whole game against Texas. Also not good that Reed hasn't displayed a high-end passing attack, even against NMSU when it appeared the coaches were trying to make that happen.
It's not all on Reed that we lost the games we did, but a few of them did come down to the wire. It's not hard to imagine that if he had been a little smarter with the ball, been ~20% more accurate, or would've scanned the whole field on a few key plays, we would've won a few more games.
All in all, I hope O'Neill has developed enough to give us a 3 way competition (Reed, O'Neill, and Zeno) for QB1 this spring. Let the best man win, and let's hope it's a guy that can help generate an explosive passing offense
