Meh… I didn't pay a dime. Spending money on cattle provides way more entertainment and ROI.
Oh what a late Christmas present that would be. Sadly it is lost in the mail.gigemags-99 said:MediocreAgs said:
There is no one to blame but us. Having all of these expectations and such. We might as well go back to the B12 or maybe a G5 conference and be happy when we go 8-4.
Will you come back when the sips lose to Arizona State?
incompetent administration...welp at least he will ruin LSU as well...may be OSU??? IDK they were all bad AD's...FJB said:
If Jimbo wasn't working and it was obvious, then why the extension?

To buy out a coach with a championship ring somewhere else, and a top 4 finish here, before his starting QB got injured 3 years in a row.
And replaced him with that.
Inept offense.
Inept defense.
Inept special teams.
Undisciplined behavior.
Truly pathetic.
But not to worry. We only have to keep paying Jimbo until 2031. Then we might free up some money to do something different.
Jimbo completely lost the locker room. He had to go.

Massive disappointment this season from Elko, but he outperformed Jimbo by a level you can't even comprehend. Jimbo wasn't even trying anymore. That's what happens when you hand someone the winning lottery ticket without any strings.

If Elko was the best you could do when putting out feelers, then you don't rush into firing Jimbo. That whole situation was handled so poorly. From the initial extension which was completely unnecessary, to the rushed firing and attempted hire of Stoops. Just complete clowns running this thing.
The truth has never been said better…

You saw 2021, 2022, and 2023 just like we did. Jimbo was not working. I'm not sure if Elko is better than an 8-4 journeyman, but firing Jimbo was the right move.
He won't see 8-4 ever again. Not here.
This was the easiest schedule we have had since we've been in the SEC.
We won't see another one this easy for a long time.
He was handed an SEC championship bid on a platter and pissed away
Bjork was headed out the door so either took a flyer and it worked or more likely Sharp was cleaning up Woodward's mess. Either way it was an awful decision and further demonstrates we have proved incapable of good ones.Leander - Ag said:OilManAg91 said:jeffdjohnson said:

This. We are lead by idiots
how do things operate behind the scenes?Agsrback12 said:mpaggie06 said:

Jimbo probably wanted to get fired when he saw how things operated behind the scenes. He was apparently tired of fighting it. It seemed like he intentionally ignored whoever was pulling strings so he could just get paid and be done with it.

Give it a rest, it's year one with a depleted roster and leftovers from a terrible Jimbo culture. Mike Elko is a good man and great defensive coach, he needs to run the defense and get a new OC.

Elko was never going to be the savior in Year 1.
But it was disappointing to have the same results with a new coach.
It takes a good coach 2-3 seasons to make a turn and 3-4 to reach it's potential.
Look what Sark did to Texas and what Prime has done at Colorado.
I'm not saying that Elko is going to follow those men, but it seems premature to take him to the train station now.

Imagine if texas fired Sark after his first season…..Give Elko a year and offseason to make adjustments

Jimbo needed to go. He had a losing season, losing players, lost to Appalachian State at home and had lost the fanbase as well.
We may have a Top 10 stadium, Top 10 facilities and a Top 10 fan base, but this year we only had a Top 25 roster.TAMUallen said:zephyr88 said:

Same old excuses we use every single time we hire bad coaches. Then we fire them and do the same things again. Coaches don't need 3 or 4 years when they come into a program with top 10 everything

Blue star. This is the root cause and why it re-occurs. Hang with me, but perhaps we should have an ongoing evaluation committee. Maybe former coaches, ADs, no BMAs as consultants. The way Bjork ran the search was so haphazard. I would have stuck with Jimbo another year if it meant a genuine search was underway.jeffdjohnson said:
