Because BMAs wives beat them.

FYI

You and the OP did nothing.

What consequences are you having to deal with. As I pointed out. The rich Ag who was involved paid most of the buyout. Not you.
I am an Aggie, I pay for my seats. I will keep saying we if it makes small men like you mad. Wanna say something to my face next year at Kyle? We. We. We.

Give it a rest, it's year one with a depleted roster and leftovers from a terrible Jimbo culture. Mike Elko is a good man and great defensive coach, he needs to run the defense and get a new OC.

good man, great goodcoach
…merely ok coach…remember…we play at least three cupcakes so that could have been 5-8…

Massive disappointment this season from Elko, but he outperformed Jimbo by a level you can't even comprehend. Jimbo wasn't even trying anymore. That's what happens when you hand someone the winning lottery ticket without any strings.

Jimbo probably wanted to get fired when he saw how things operated behind the scenes. He was apparently tired of fighting it. It seemed like he intentionally ignored whoever was pulling strings so he could just get paid and be done with it.
how do things operate behind the scenes?
This is a bunch of speculation of vague BS…

This.

Everyone who makes donations and pays for tickets, overpriced concessions, and overpriced parking is paying for it. A cut of every penny brought in until 2031 is paying for it.

It's true my annual donation has never been 8 digits. But after the **** show of the last 2 years it is going to zero digits. Maybe I will look at sending a few bucks in 2032 to help with our next rebuild…

LOL

You did not pay the buyout. It was paid by other means.

But keep saying WE if it helps you justify acting like a child on here.

I will just keep laughing at you.

You saw 2021, 2022, and 2023 just like we did. Jimbo was not working. I'm not sure if Elko is better than an 8-4 journeyman, but firing Jimbo was the right move.
Jimbo deserved to be fired, but I'm not sure paying $75 million for a coach not to play is ever "the right move." Our university gave Jimbo that insane contract. They would be less likely to do something that stupid again if they actually had to live through more of the contract. Paying $75 million in buyout just makes us look like fools. Anyone involved in Jimbo's contract was a fool. I don't think it was a bad hire (it turned out bad, but was a reasonable thing to do at the time), but the contract was very bad and the risk of a contract like that should have been plain to see.

Amazed by three things regarding coaches on here.

1) There were people who thought Jimbo was the answer and hired him.

2) We thought he was worth 10 million per year and EVEN gave him an extension.

3) There are STILL people on here who thought he was the coach is funny or very sad.

He had his best year in 2020 and received the extension because off that…

Elko was never going to be the savior in Year 1.

But it was disappointing to have the same results with a new coach.

It takes a good coach 2-3 seasons to make a turn and 3-4 to reach it's potential.

Look what Sark did to Texas and what Prime has done at Colorado.

I'm not saying that Elko is going to follow those men, but it seems premature to take him to the train station now.
The highlighted areas are extremely vague terms. What do you mean when you say these things? Is there, in your mind, a season record associated with such statements?

Is "making the turn" in the realm of 8-4 and 9-3 or something better? I ask because when you look at the records of coaches who made it to the playoffs this season they all have, by year two and three, very similar records. Basically, gone are the days of taking years, five to six seasons, to build a winner. Success has come quickly for the teams in this year's playoffs, save Dabo at Clemson who didn't see great success until season four/five depending on how you judge such things.

He turned out like his record at Duke suggested he would. Could he get better? Someone in the admin better hope so or his grave plan to retire before he gets blamed is an utter failure:

Good grief you people are stupid... You don't deserve a good coach and wouldn't know one if he was right in front of you. So much bluster against a coach who had a mildly disappointing year 1. Compared to other HC's year one he was a genius.
