BMA's are a blessing and a curse.

I am an Aggie, I pay for my seats. I will keep saying we if it makes small men like you mad. Wanna say something to my face next year at Kyle? We. We. We.LB12Diamond said:

You and the OP did nothing.
What consequences are you having to deal with. As I pointed out. The rich Ag who was involved paid most of the buyout. Not you.
…merely ok coach…remember…we play at least three cupcakes so that could have been 5-8…zephyr88 said:good man,DGrimesAg92 said:
Give it a rest, it's year one with a depleted roster and leftovers from a terrible Jimbo culture. Mike Elko is a good man and great defensive coach, he needs to run the defense and get a new OC.great goodcoach
This is a bunch of speculation of vague BS…agracer said:how do things operate behind the scenes?Agsrback12 said:mpaggie06 said:
Massive disappointment this season from Elko, but he outperformed Jimbo by a level you can't even comprehend. Jimbo wasn't even trying anymore. That's what happens when you hand someone the winning lottery ticket without any strings.
Jimbo probably wanted to get fired when he saw how things operated behind the scenes. He was apparently tired of fighting it. It seemed like he intentionally ignored whoever was pulling strings so he could just get paid and be done with it.

Jimbo deserved to be fired, but I'm not sure paying $75 million for a coach not to play is ever "the right move." Our university gave Jimbo that insane contract. They would be less likely to do something that stupid again if they actually had to live through more of the contract. Paying $75 million in buyout just makes us look like fools. Anyone involved in Jimbo's contract was a fool. I don't think it was a bad hire (it turned out bad, but was a reasonable thing to do at the time), but the contract was very bad and the risk of a contract like that should have been plain to see.HJack20 said:
You saw 2021, 2022, and 2023 just like we did. Jimbo was not working. I'm not sure if Elko is better than an 8-4 journeyman, but firing Jimbo was the right move.
To show the world that we could out-stupid the stupidity of the original contract.FJB said:

He had his best year in 2020 and received the extension because off that…one safe place said:To show the world that we could out-stupid the stupidity of the original contract.FJB said:

The highlighted areas are extremely vague terms. What do you mean when you say these things? Is there, in your mind, a season record associated with such statements?zephyr88 said:
Elko was never going to be the savior in Year 1.
But it was disappointing to have the same results with a new coach.
It takes a good coach 2-3 seasons to make a turn and 3-4 to reach it's potential.
Look what Sark did to Texas and what Prime has done at Colorado.
I'm not saying that Elko is going to follow those men, but it seems premature to take him to the train station now.
