It was very disappointing to watch us blow a 24-7 lead with 5:12 left in the 3rd quarter to lose to USC 35-31. As a result, we lost 4 of our last 5 games and 4 consecutive games to Power 4 opponents after starting 7-1 (5-0 SEC and 5-1 Power 4) to finish 8-5 (5-3 SEC an 5-5 Power 4). This reminds me of 2016, when we started 6-0 (4-0 SEC) and 5-0 Power 4) before losing 5 of our last 7 games and 5 consecutive games to Power 4 teams to finish 8-5. I noticed a few more trends:

1. We have lost 2 consecutive bowl games (2023 Texas Bowl and 2024 Las Vegas Bowl since a 41-27 win over North Carolina in the 2021 Orange Bowl on 1/2/2021.

2. We have finished with 8 or fewer wins for the 9th time in 11 years. The only exceptions were when we finished 9-4 (5-3 SEC) in 2018 and 9-1 (8-1 SEC) in 2020.

3. We have not beaten a Power 4 team since a 38-23 home win over LSU on 10/26.

4. This is the 2nd time in 3 games we scored 31+ points in regulation and still lost.

5. After USC started 3-4, they won 4 of their last 6 games to finish 7-6 (4-5 Big 10).

6. USC went 2-0 against SEC teams, and they played both of those games in Las Vegas.

Even after the Dat Nguyen TD (when A&M was up 16-0 against the Bruins) I knew in my heart that UCLA would come back to win the game. The UCLA players did not seemed fazed at all despite the early deficit.

A&M dominated the first 42 minutes of tonights football game, but even when up 24-7 I knew that Southern California would make a comeback.
I did not see them ending the game on a 28-7 run.

If there was any positive I would state that Marcel Reed looked like he has the potential to be an all conference type of player.
Next years defense should be very good. They are returning a number of starters.

As I've always said, on the big stage, A&M will fold like a cheap tent every time. It's uncanny how predictable we are. Not sure what the fix is, but on a big stage with a name brand opponent, we will fold.

I was really hopeful that Elko would be the answer. He seems now to be more of a combination of Fran and Sherman. He's intelligent and a nice guy, but that never works at A&M. We need a Jackie Sherrill. We need a strong disciplinarian because these players get praised and babied whether they're good or bad. They know they are loved regardless of performance. This will never change. BAS is a real condition and I have it. There is no long term cure only brief stretches of relief. Jackie and RC gave relief, but was not sustainable. JFF brought back hope that we were done with this condition, but he didn't stay long enough. I was in the first grade when Bear Bryant was here, but I remember my Dad telling me how good we were and that we would be great again. God rest his soul but he had BAS and I guess it's contagious. Still waiting for next year to come.

Maybe the fact that the coaching staff didn't learn a single thing from their boneheaded decisions all season. They repeat the same mistakes with decision making and clock management.

I understand what you are trying to say but this was hardly "a big stage". It was a terrible 6-6 USC team. Game didn't even start until 9:30pm CT. I bet a lot of fans of the actual schools didn't stay up until 2am to watch the end.

Don't care if I'm missed or not. That's not the point. The point is I get my life back from spending money, time, energy, etc on nothing but am annually disappointing product for years.

Question: why do we even have bowl games any more. At one time, it was a reward for a good season. NIL is a reward in itself. IMO.

Need the additional revenue to make up for previous bad Hires.

We should request a second bowl for two reason...additional practice and additional revenue. Every team still in the CFP is getting better with extra practice and making extra money for NIL. It is a positive feedback loop.

I doubt seriously more practice will change anything this year…

Turned off the game after USC scored to start the 4th quarter. I have seen how this played out too many times before.
Woke up this morning and verified I was correct. Wish the Aggies could be this consistent in some other aspect of the game.
