I've been trying to get my wife to give up our FB tickets and do something fun in the fall with our weekends. The Texas game and this one have helped my cause tremendously.

Despite what some would have called an 8 win season a success in August, this season seems like a failure with a disgusting feel going into next season.

With speculation that next year's schedule will be harder, is an 8 win season seemingly out of reach?

Indeed. You should have known it was coming.

3 of those points were a gift from the defense, but it should have been 7. We forced 3 turnovers and could not get one more score after 24-7. Waaaay too many failed 3r down conversions.

We should have put 450+ yards and 35+ points on this USC team...

This game just reinforced the decision I made in November to stop tailgating and not renew season tickets. All hype, no substance. When it comes down to it, no fight! Terrible coaching. Terrible tackling. So many penalties. No killer instinct. Complete unwillingness to put the other team away.

You won't be missed. Tickets have a waiting list.

Perhaps that's part of the reason mediocrity is so acceptable.
As long as people are willing to part with thousands of dollars and stand in line for tickets, then why should anything change?

And people said we were an 8-4 team again. We sure showed them!

Seemingly? We'll be lucky to get to 6 with this joke of a program

I feel like there are maybe 5 people in the entire university system that understand this.

I've been extremely hopeful with Elko. But this game has tested my faith.

This game tonight reminded me of the 1998 Cotton Bowl loss against UCLA.

Even after the Dat Nguyen TD (when A&M was up 16-0 against the Bruins) I knew in my heart that UCLA would come back to win the game. The UCLA players did not seemed fazed at all despite the early deficit.

A&M dominated the first 42 minutes of tonights football game, but even when up 24-7 I knew that Southern California would make a comeback.
I did not see them ending the game on a 28-7 run.

If there was any positive I would state that Marcel Reed looked like he has the potential to be an all conference type of player.
Next years defense should be very good. They are returning a number of starters.

I hope no one gives these chokers another dime. Shut down the NIL for football. Spend the money on baseball, basketball, and track. We won't even know the difference. I promise.

Well. We went 1-4 in the second half of the season. As far as I'm concerned it's a miserable failure.

The D is missing 5 starters, this epic L is not on them. It is squarely on Klein. We have almost the entire starting offense. That last TD drive just shows how stupid and crappy he was for the majority of the game. I think we ran one other zone read the entire game, and when we needed it we run the ball w/ Reed and he scores.

After the INT Owens is running well and we don't counter with a zone-read when it's open. Too many fade passes to Noah Thomas. 3 times we had first and goal and kicked FGs. After the INT we could not get closer to kick a more makeable FG. Multiple 3rd and down and 4 or less and we throw the ball 20 yard downfield to our #4 WR, none of it makes any sense.

We had a 24-7 lead, and Klein could not put up one more point until after USC had taken the lead late in 4Q.

IMHO BOTH our coordinators need to be upgraded but at least Bateman has a personnel excuse this game.

Klein is too used to Big 12 defenses, he can't adjust during the game, his 3rd down and red zone play calling is f'ing terrible.

Total and complete collapse to lose that game and it was an embrassing loss. Not embarassing to lose to UC, but the manner in which we did is comical and just pure Aggie football. 9 wins is like climbing Mount Everest for us....

Klein deserves all the hate he's getting but that doesn't mean Bateman gets a pass (nor the man responsible for hiring both). The defensive issues tonight were not new because of players unavailable. They were the same issues we have seen since week one and I have seen nothing in terms of game plan adjustment to react.

We continued to put players in positions impossible to succeed on both sides of the ball. We saw it fail and continued to try without adjustment. We continued to put individuals in positions to be mocked and scapegoated because of the staffs unwillingness or inability to make changes.

This USC team was downright awful. There is no excuse to lose this game and trying to tie it to one group when Offensive/Defensive/Special Teams were all coached poorly enough to lose the game themselves let's some absolute frauds off the hook.

They blatantly hold without fear of punishment.

I think this is already Elkos. He came in to keep our defense together and then revamp the staff to make the team more well rounded. The defense part is a miserable fail. We totally suck in defense. We would struggle to win w Johnny at qb

Were still winning with less than 2:00 on the clock. Defense found a way to lose, the same way they did at Auburn.

How did a uni with a "prestigious" business school get into that dumbass contract with Jimbo....then extend it.

I said this last year we shouldn't have fired Jimbo but let the contract ride as a lesson to all Aggies. Everyone keeps saying fire Elko. You can't do that. We can't pay 3 coaches at once. Next year the schedule is tougher. 7-8 wins max.

Nah, it's about money. They love spending money, bragging about how much they pay the coaches and spent on the new facility. Bragging about where their seats are and how long the line is to sit where they sit. Etc, etc.

Despite the years without a title of any sort, there's a culture of satisfaction and celebration that does not display the expected hunger or accountability.

me too...sure looked ike the players were buying into his system early on and thought this would be a good season, esp. after the LSU win. But the 1-4 finish to the season has been just an all around **** show.

Although many would consider this complete hyperbole I agree. We went from two supposed offensive masterminds (debatable) to a supposed defensive genius. Yet with all our talent against inferior opponents the defense is getting smoked. I lost all faith in Elko after these games, he continues to loss in the same fashion and not adapt on what's supposed to be the strength on his side of the ball

He's got a lot to fix before that happens.

He panics a lot at the slightest pressure, he does not have good touch on long balls and flat out makes very poor decisions on some RPO reads.

Easiest SEC schedule we will likely ever face and end it 8-5. In no way is that a successful season.
