From what I understand after having recently spoken to a cadet on campus, is that there is a series of interviews (wonder who) and a physical fitness consideration ( that part seems like a good idea ) to select those who will "run" for the position.
Then its a campaign called " 5 for yell". Where it seems more like a campaign to get to know the yell leaders vs an actual free election.
One block of candidates to vote "yes" for. If that's true then it's an inside selection for a mock "election". Like the democrat primary process has been.
If it were an actual election and the business school block voted then their candidate or candidates would easily outvote the 2,300 cadets. This is why it's rigged now.
If so then the image we have here falls squarely on the cronies on the selection committee.
Free election would yield better results. In my day we had some nonreg yell leaders. It seems to make the group better ( fair competition results in a better product)
