The hate has only hurt the Ags. Seriously, what good has it ever done? It's only held ATM back.

I'm class of 16 and hate them more than I like us.

This is one of the aspects of our rivalry with those hosers I've never quite understood, the desire from both sides to downplay the actual hatred and how much the game means. Aggies calling out other Aggies as being obsessed if they mention tu. Sips calling each other and us out, little brother, no one cares, etc. It's a big game, with heated rivalry from two of the top 20 winningest programs all time, been played for 100 years. Bama doesn't think Auburn fans are obsessed, they hate Auburn as much as Auburn hates them. Michigan and Ohio St, same thing. Florida/Florida State. Why is our rivalry so dead set on pretending it's not, from both sidelines?

Honestly hate the school, hate most tshirt fans, the actual graduates are hit and miss. The arrogance from them is mind boggling as outside of a couple eras with Mack and DKKKR, they're fairly mediocre. Even with Mack, they didn't dominate the Big 12 with conference championships.

Hopefully young ones come around.
Recruited a guy at Rice, who when he showed up said, "I'm signing with Texas, give me half of your entertainment money and I'll leave and go out with my girlfriend" . Only extended hatred from my Aggie upbringing. (I did tell him to eff off, and pocketed his money).

I agree with a lot of what you posted, Tex

Truthfully I don't hate any person or people group, including tu. I would label it more of a "healthy dislike".

I believe there is good that comes from competitive rivalries. I think they should be encouraged as much as possible. BUT when the "hate" for your rival exceeds your love & respect for yourself, you've hit an unhealthy level.

My love for & pride in A&M far exceeds any "hate" I have for any school. But I am damn happy to have this game back on our schedule.

This!

A little rivalry is fun, don't get me wrong. But there is something wrong between Texas v Texas ATM.

Quite frankly, Texas doesn't deserve a rivalry, from anyone.

This guy doesn't get it.

If I had it within my power I would wipe that school from the earth and salt the ground. They're an affront to all things texas, an embarrassment to our people. Their success is our failure.

This is good vs evil. I dont want a friendly rivalry with evil. I want evil annihilated.

I read this quote from Bucky in the ESPN article this morning and thought it needed to be shared!

BTHO tu
It was so great not playing Texas all those years. Really nice living without the irrationality about UT.

Now TexAga trying to drum up the hatred for UT, prior to this game, in people who were in elementary school when TAMU last played UT. Manufactured Hatred. The truth is many of us have relatives and in-laws we love and respect who went to UT. And we don't hate UT. We do hate that UT is more of a Left leaning faculty and student body than A&M.

It's done nothing beneficial for Texas ATM. The "hate" is holding the Aggies back.

I know I won't change anyone's mind here, but do consider it What has "hating Texas" ever done for Texas ATM?

And, like it or not, that arrogant bravado is a part of the psyche of being Texan.

Texas doesn't deserve a rivalry with ATM. They deserve Oklahoma.

Used to go to church with a guy who was consistently giving me a hard time about being an Aggie and denigrating A&M. I took it for quite a while and finally tried to extend an olive branch by asking him when he was in Austin for school since we were about the same age and likely knew some of the same people. He hung his head and admitted he went to UTA, as in Arlington. I suppressed a smile and said "oh, ok." He never said another word to me about A&M.

This kind of stuff is not out of the ordinary.

I follow the lead of an Old Ag Class of '68:

He asks when they graduated. If they did in fact graduate he says he'll take their crap. If not, he tells them when they go there, pays their dues and graduate he'll take it, Until then he will not take the t-shirt fan garbage.

I want to beat them but fans of both schools who can't hold a conversation without referencing it need to get a life. My tu friends who only bring it up in the context of an approaching game are fine as we all appreciate a bit of banter. But, if it's someone I barely know or introduced to and it comes up, I won't engage as it just seems stupid.
If it's part of your identity, and you have to reference it just as part of regular life you are a loser.

Pretty much this. I'm getting on near 60 years old and I personally know a grand total of 3 people who actually attended the place. Only one who graduated. And he's a really cool old dude. Yet my FB is littered with sh**-talking t shirts. It's kinda funny to me, I treat them like I would a pro sports fan since none of us actually has any skin in the NFL. If you're a college football fan and you don't hate your rival school you're weird and missing a fun aspect of the game itself. Stop trying to downplay it because you feel self important.

Go with it. It's fun.
