Imagine his team in the SEC with that oline, and the lack of discipline!
His son is very overrated

His son (the one at QB) is a very good player.
Imagine what he could do when he's not running for his life behind that ****stack of an OLine they've got.

The kid can ball.
Except against a team with any semblance of a pass rush like a middle of the road Big 10 team. Then he sucks ass.

You can go back to last year. Once he got in his conference schedule, it was straight downhill. And that was against the Pac 12. He's completely reliant on two factors..

1. Terrible defenses that his bad OL can stack up with
2. Generational WR talent who might be the best of all time.

Either one of those stops working, Sanders is a piss poor QB.
There aren't many QB's....if any....that can be effective when they're under constant heavy pressure.
You should have also put in bold the part of my initial post where I referenced their ****ty OLine

If it was any coach besides Deion Sanders at Colorado that led the turnaround from the 1-11 debacle a couple of years ago, people would be singing his praises.

It's just human nature to be turned off by people that are brash and arrogant in all walks of life no matter their accomplishments.

Whatever Deion is doing at Colorado, it's working on and off the field. The TV numbers for Colorado games are pretty damn good.

Here's a list of all the teams Colorado has beaten the last 2 years with their defensive rankings.

On average, they have beaten the 79th ranked defense and 90th pass defense for two years.

Two wins in two years against good defenses, though Nebraska 2023 was merely a mediocre pass defense and Colorado doesn't run the ball. And Sanders did play well in those two games.

But overall, Colorado and Sanders look great against awful competition. When they play good defensive competition, their win rate drops to about 25%. That's flat out bad. They are a product of a weak schedule and nothing more.

assuming he sticks around, we'll see how good he is when he doesn't have his kid at QB and Travis Hunter on both sides of the ball. Personally, I think there's gonna be a big drop-off.

When someone is the GOAT at one position for sure and maybe two if you include punt returner as well as the only person ever to play in the World Series and Super Bowl I'm not sure it's bragging.

Arguably the best CB of all time.
9 years in MLB playing outfield
Successful at 2 places as coach

You can't name many others even close.

Lets be honest. If he was white, he would be the Caitlyn Clark of college football right now..

We should hire him. And he'll be hired by Dallas at the same time. Remember Reggie Herring?

Hes good but he's overrated. Still to this day he's not throwing the ball away when no one is open and everyone is covered. Instead, he's running from side like to sidline or even backwards trying to create plays. Often times taking sacks for huge losses or throwing carelessly. In the SEC or Big Ten he would have several more INTs

He's got a high ceiling but a clown for a coach/father

No, don't care about Deion, though I think he's a pretty good CFB coach.

What we should do is go and talk to Shedeur. Convince him now is not the time to go pro, but play at least 1 more year (e.g., don't be like JFF). Once you convince him, convince the BMAs to provide a huge NIL so he will come play for us.

Say what you want about Shedeur, he beats the hell outta our QBs !

The ONLY valid ANNUAL goal for ALL Aggie Sports is a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

then then Marcell goes to QB2 and immediately becomes the best QB on the team! I see what you did there!

People that don't like Deion or don't his style just keep shifting the narrative.

First he was deserting the previous school and he'd be gone from Colorado in a year.
Then he was practicing nepotism by having his own son be quarterback.
Then he the a-hole for being brash and not being old school

Now he's just lucky he has a Heisman-caliber player and he's in a weak conference.

If they make the playoff, it'll be because they got lucky.
If they win a playoff game, it will be a fluke.
The minute he takes another job, whether it's January 1st 2025 or January 1st 2030, we'll hear that he doesn't care about the kids.

You can say all you want about what he wouldn't do, his son wouldn't do, and the Buffs wouldn't do in this conference or that conference, but facts are facts. He's taken Colorado from straight garbage to 8-2 overall, 6-1 in the Big 12. You don't have to like the guy to be able to realize what he's done so far has been pretty remarkable.

Personally I would need to see him win without his son. His son is by far the best QB in the country
I'm assuming you said the same thing about Saban?

Because part of coaching, and especially being successful in it at the collegiate level, is - wait for it - having the ability to get good players. Shocking, I know.

I've always laughed at this type of argument - "well, if he didn't have XYZ, ABC and DEF, who are the best at their positions. I'd like to see him without those guys!" That's just dumb - because withotu those types of guys, odds are he wouldn't be anywhere as successful as a coach. A major part of college coaching is getting those guys.

Then there is the "well, he's not an X's and O's guy!". Most head football coaches in college arent anymore. Yet another major part of being a college coach is being the manager and not the nuts and bolts guy.
AggieOO
How long do you want to ignore this user?
coaches can get good talent and still suck as a coach. and that super talented QB can win them some games, even a National Championship. Look no further than Jimbo. Or take a look at Sumlin.

So while yes, you are correct that part of successful coaching is attracting great talent, a key player or two can really cover up bad/mediocre coaching. That's why I'll say, let's see how he does when he doesn't have one of the best QBs in the country and a second generational talent on both sides of the ball. If he can continue to elevate players and win games without those two, then I'll be convinced. Maybe it turns out that he's the next Saban, but I doubt it.

Well, according to this thread, any wins that Lewis gets for the Buffs won't count for Deion.

Well that just means that he can't get any credit for the next 4 years. I mean if he wins, then its just because the got the best QB in the country. can't be great unless he talks into a headset.

I am kind of surprised Ga didnt get him to stay in state or atleast another SEC team.
