Is he really a great coach or…
1. Has the best QB in the country
2. Has the best non QB in the country
3. Plays in a joke conference

And if you've noticed he NEVER talks into his headset. Is he a great figurehead? Absolutely, but coach?

He has 2 & 3. I'd take Gabriel or Ward over Sanders at QB

So you're saying we should hire him?

Or that he should head to Dallas to continue the cowgirls streak of irrelevance?

I won't knock him as a bad coach or praise him as a good one. What I will say is that their schedule is a joke. They could easily make the playoffs, and the committee will love the ratings, but his team isn't on the level of any of the big dogs in the B1G or SEC

Personally I would need to see him win without his son. His son is by far the best QB in the country

This. They were demolished by a .500 Big 10 team. It was never competitive after the open kick. Since then, they've gotten to stick in their world playing against 2 star OL and DL. Against a team with a pulse, Sanders never has one play to set his feet and throw and is probably sacked 10 times.

Proof is in the results. He turned Jack state around and became elite. He turned CU which was a dead program for 2 decades into potentially winning the Big 12 and CFP.

Who care if he is an XO guy or whatever he does. He is a winner as a player and now a winner as a coach. Not many coaches could turn CU into a winner and potentially conference title.

Say what you want about the big 12, but when we were in the big 12 we won exactly one in 16 years. He will match this in 2 years if he can pull this off.

He's an excellent coach. Turned around two programs and CU was one of the worst when he took over.

Umm, the Big 12 is very different than when we were there…

People always bring up some excuse for his success. He is a winner and has won everywhere he has gone. As a player, as a coach.

Give the man his due. Not many coaches could turn CU into a winner. Cu went through 7-8 coaches who could barely make a bowl game in a similarly crappy Pac 12.

Your "best player" is just a made up excuse. You can say the same about Saban. He almost always had the best players against everyone.

College is all about recruiting and development. He has done both.

Both teams he has coached have gone from historically bad to really good.

It's time to quit the Deion hate. Recruiting is a part of the coaches responsibilities in college football…no? So stop holding "the best player" argument against him.

There are plenty of other coaches that are far less deserving of accolades and far more deserving of criticism than Deion Sanders.

Why do we care? Are you asking should we hire him?

But I'll answer that question; he helped focus Colorado and CLEARLY changed the alumni culture to contribute more and the staff and team has been traded out avd is arguably successful for such a huge change.

I definitely think he was motivated by getting him sons more exposure than Jacksonville State but also himself.

I see zero reason to complain about or downplay what he is doing. It is very interesting. If successful can help promote Colorado in the next conference reswizzle.

Can't argue with what he has accomplished. I think he will always be a flight risk though. I think he ultimately wants to coach in the NFL and would be shocked if he isn't as soon as next year. It won't be the Cowboys though. It will be a team with a top 3 pick because it would be a package deal. Think NYG, Vegas, nyj, browns. All need a QB and will have a top 5 pick in draft

How is this even relevant when Texas A&M, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Nebraska have all left the conference making it appreciably worse than it was in the past?

I too believe Deion is a good coach according to several metrics, but you utterly destroyed your argument with your moronic last paragraph; not only was the BigXII 'different', it was the premier conference for most of its life when it had #1 Nebraska, #1 Oklahoma, & #1 t.u.

WOW!

If you look at draft boards Shadeur is lukewarm with half the league and the people that like him only focus on pedigree and mentality, not being afraid of NFL ball. Nearly every outlet admits he is not physically great, and his arm is simply 'good enough'

Every QB I mentioned is generally in the top 5 with Shadeur on draft boards with Nuss slipping down after the last few games

So it's not insane, it's just reading what the professionals are saying

Hes got a Charmin soft schedule
Hes got a heisman player that plays both sides of the ball

Imagine his team in the SEC with that oline, and the lack of discipline!
His son is very overrated

Imagine what he could do when he's not running for his life behind that ****stack of an OLine they've got.

Draft boards <> Great college quarterback

Johnny Football, Tim Tebow, and a cast of thousands more are a testament to this.

FWIW Archie is better than Ewers but won't be in the draft. The post is more indicative of how overrated Shadeur is, less about how good other QBs are

I mean Will Howard at Ohio State and Drew Allar at Penn Sate are probably better than Shadeur too, especially considering quarterback rating

....and on the other end of that spectrum are the late rounders that the professionals weren't impressed with.
Tom Brady is likely the biggest example, but there are several others.

what's he's done with a horrible program is remarkable, and I've been very surprised by their success, and competence this year. (*literally bet against it)

That said, they are similar to tu, in that they have played the dregs of the Big 12.

In the big 12, CU is #2

They have not played #1, #3, #4, #7.

Beat #5 Baylor (6-4),
LOST to #6 K State.
Got POUNDED by a mediocre Nebraska team early this season.

Baylor at 6-4 and Tech at 6-4 are the only two teams they've beaten with a winning record.

Wish the Kansas line was higher, but the above is why it's only Colorado by 2.5

Except against a team with any semblance of a pass rush like a middle of the road Big 10 team. Then he sucks ass.

You can go back to last year. Once he got in his conference schedule, it was straight downhill. And that was against the Pac 12. He's completely reliant on two factors..

1. Terrible defenses that his bad OL can stack up with
2. Generational WR talent who might be the best of all time.

Either one of those stops working, Sanders is a piss poor QB.
