Ticket Pull

Seeing a lot of reports on social media that ticket pull was a nightmare.

Even saw one report that someone bought a lot of guest passes and is reselling them for a ton of money.

Current students who may be on here:

1. From what I remember, it is used to be required that you had to have a student pass for every 1 guest pass, is that no longer the case?

2. I think ticket pull should absolutely remain in person, but maybe start having ticket office get people more organized? They can't stay there overnight but it sounds like it was really bad this time.

3. There's a lot of reports of people charging the front of the line (by someone literally yelling "charge") when students were taking shifts going to the memorial for bonfire at 2AM. If that's true, frankly their passes should be revoked, but didn't know if anyone can confirm that happened.

Just curious is anyone went to ticket pull this morning and can confirm if it was as bad as I've seen out there.

Biggest thing to me is we need to allow as many students as we can into the student section, what is reported today seems to throw that in jeopardy.

Need to merely video record the lines and give the recording to Outdoors…

My wife said there were no guest passes for tu. I don't know for sure, but LSU game was a nightmare because of guest passes. My son said during the LSU game, the row behind him was squeezing 10 people in 5 spots etc. and they were bumping into him all night.

I will happily accept 10 Aggies in 5 spots

As a current student, ticket pull should absolutely NOT remain in person. I'm a third generation Aggie and I bleed maroon, but there are just too many students now to make an in person ticket pull feasible. There were numerous people carted off in stretchers, hundreds of people taking advantage of the system and getting physically violent, and even people desecrating Rev's grave. This is unacceptable and it's in a system that is designed to fail. Authorities weren't doing anything and clearly the university doesn't really care as long as they get money. I have yet to talk to a fellow student who genuinely believes that the current system is efficient and "fun." This is my last ticket pull and I got out there at 6 am on Sunday (which was technically the earliest time we could be there despite the hundreds of tents already set up during the NMSU game), haven't slept in 30 hours and I have the worst seats that I've had all year. It's bad bull if we are incentivizing students to leave the game early just to get the "exciting" game's tickets. As Aggies, we should be supporting the team no matter who we're playing. Sorry for the long rant, but I think a current student's perspective on this is important.

I'd note if guest pulls push out football pass holders that's a betrayal. But if they merely shift fish towards the outskirts but give them seats as contracted then that better than my freshman game against Texas…had to buy a scalper ticket to go.

How about an "appointment" time? Would reduce camping out but would also act as crowd control. So students can reserve ticket window times and only up to a certain number can reserve in a window. Only Seniors can reserve on day 1 but they can pull up to 5 student passes or something like that.

Take it online just like class registration. This looks embarrassing to me but I also enjoy the hazing of new army bc they are *******.

They should do it online based on classification and use a points system for pull times. The only issue that I see if how do you pull for a group without having to have everyone in your group's sports pass ID number?
KCup17

You'd have to have the student ID number for all individuals in your group if you wanted to do it online.

And that's different than having their sports pass for ticket pull, how?

It looks to be a cluster **** of epic proportions.

i think any aggie, current or former selling their tickets to a sip, should have their privilege's revoked, We don't need more obnoxious cry-sippies in the stands.

This was an issue in 2013 bama vs A&M. 11 years later there's no solution?

What if they're selling to Aggie former students? I doubt many Longhorns want to sit in the student section.

Lol why would they care. They're taking any chance they can to get a ticket to this game because its a chance to see them a) beat their rival for the first time in over a decade and b) cement their place as the #1 team in SEC in year 1.

If the situation was reversed, would you want to sit in the student section in Austin?

That is so disappointing that in-person pull is such a cluster now. 2007 I camped 2 weeks for tickets. Roll call for the lists every 6-12 hrs. There were list guards. It was well run even if we blew the electrical fuses every night, suffered thru downpours. It was great!

I hope students aren't selling to sips. Any former student (myself included ) would love to relive being in the student section yelling their asses off... Not some sips.

I'm hearing it was a frat that had people cut lines to buy the 400 guest tickets with stacks of 9 or 10 each. Saw a bit of it but didn't realize it was a frat or which one.

Hope people find out which frat it was. Also, guest tickets were sold until 2:34 PM today.

Lucky!!! That's awesome!!!

My cousin (student) was looking on behalf of her brother and myself for extra sports passes but sadly for me (great for her friends) all of her contacts are going. I remember more people were home for the holidays when I was a student but it's good to see the passion in the current students. I'll have to look for other ways oh well

Sorry bud, we did already disusse this and reasonable people WERE told that it is critical to have these because they are "an experience" and "fun" and are an important way allow people who distinguish themselves by being try hards possibly get better seats. I doubt any were actually students though...

I couldn't stay home for this.

Surely they arent selling guest passes for this particular game? We're talking about converting a sports pass of students who won't be going into guest tickets right?

So it was a flo that purchased 400 guest tickets to start the morning. And a frat that blasted music at 2AM and yelled "charge" and rushed to start the line. But yea a flo and a frat purchased several hundred guest tickets each.
