a 3 loss sec team isn't making the playoffs
I didn't ignore anything. If an undefeated conference champion can be left out of a four-team playoff, then a multi-loss non-champion can be left out of a 12-team playoff. The Marksman said:1. Last year was a 4 team playoff, not a 12 team playoff. You know that just as well as I do, but choose to ignore it.RARay said:Last year they left out the undefeated ACC champion. The Marksman said:
People who think the SEC runner-up is going to be left out of the playoffs are just crybaby conspiracy theorists who think everything is rigged
2. Since when were the SEC and ACC comparable football leagues?
3. Don't forget the Jordan Travis injury. It wasn't fair to FSU that the injury made a difference, but that was a unique circumstance.

If there is a tie (and there very likely will be), there are more than two teams at the top. All the tiebreaker does is determines who plays in the CCG. It doesn't separate #2 from #3 in anybody's who matters' mind, especially the committee.
Or the SEC would use CFP ranking as the tiebreaker. Which nobody wants.

Won't happen. They will have no good wins. If anything it would be Bama or Ole Miss getting in over us.

If A&M and Texas both go 10-2, we beat them and go to the SEC title game, it would set a horrible precedent to leave A&M out due to a title game loss and put in the 10-2 Texas team who lost to A&M and missed out on the title game.
You are then punishing teams for making it to the conference championship game.
That being said I certainly could see the committee screwing A&M like that and putting Texas in.
If it did happen, would it be infuriating? Yes. Would I take as a consolation beating Texas in their first year in the conference to go to the SEC Championship game and keep them out? Also Yes.

It will happen… as Texas born & raised for 60 years, and a Fightin' Texas Aggie for the last 15 years and a Razorback fan before that… it's the way of the world for the elite privileged Longhorns.
No way the committee is leaving out a 2-loss tu. No way. They're married to the thought of having those clowns in. I'm debating whether even a third loss knocks them out.Gyles Marrett said:

Does the fact that sip has zero top 25 wins, got trounced at home by the only team they've played with a pulse and yet still sit at #2 in the rankings not register with you at ALL? They got run straight up to #1 twice already without playing anyone of consequence
Deny it all you want. But the pollsters and especially ESiPN practically piss themselves at the mere mention of tu. Geargia has two top 10 road losses and a convincing road win over sip and are on the bubble of being out of the playoff conversation altogether.

Yeah, they're definitely out there searching for excuses.Quote:
They'll look for any excuse to get tu in, and damn near any excuse to keep A&M out.
Ah yes, the old "woe is me, the world is against A&M, it's all one big conspiracy" poster. Insufferable and not remotely logical.TyperWoods said:

I thought Alabama would reach the SEC Championship Game by simply winning out, but there is a wild scenario in which LSU can still each the SEC Championship Game. If every SEC favorite wins their remaining conference games over the next 3 weeks and Arkansas beats Missouri in Columbia, 9-3 (6-2 SEC) LSU would play the winner of the Texas vs Texas A&M game in the SEC Championship Game.NyAggie said:Phone bill said:

I think Bama is getting in regardless unless they lose a regular season game, which I don't see happening
One miss is currently in as of today and will probably creep up a couple of spots and be safely in as well
That leaves the Georgia/tenessee winner and the A&M/tu winner
If Georgia beats Tennessee and we win out then Tennessee is r Texas will both be likely sitting right behind us with 10-2 records and we'll be playing bama
If we lose close to Bama it's up to the committee to keep us in or put Tennessee or Texas in
If we are still behind both Tennessee and Texas going into the ccg then we're out with a loss
If Tennessee beats Georgia then Georgia is out
And Tennessee is likely safely in even with a ccg loss because tgst would only be their 2nd loss
If we lost to Tennessee, you'd have Bama and Tennessee and ole miss likely in the field with us and tu for the last spot
We should go but I don't trust any committees

If its us, then yes. If its TEX, the answer is a resounding NO.
Well, to be fair Texas would only be a 1 loss team and then a 2 loss team after the title game
If either Texas or Tennessee get here with 1 loss and lose, they will stay in
If we get there with 2 losses. I think we'd be out if we lost

Got it
3 losses (all to ranked teams) won't help us because we aren't tu/bama/georgia. Choking against ND and not game tackling against SC is going to kill us unless we win out.bulverdeaggie93 said:
