For those who have season tickets or ticket plans, what section are you and how much is the price per seat per game?

On the ticket forum, some of these prices are insane. Selling tu tickets for 2-3 grand per ticket. I get that it's a big game and rivalry returning after 13 years. But I could never do that to someone especially a fellow Aggie. If I paid 250 bucks for a ticket, I'm not selling it for 10x the cost I paid. It's a real shame.

You might be able to create generational wealth off that game on Thanksgiving

In all honesty, I probably would. Why be the "good guy" when thousands of other people aren't. Unless you're absolutely loaded... like the Walton's-loaded. Or if I knew a person and how much that game would mean to them. First game ever etc

Maybe

If people are willing to pay it, is it ripping them off? No one is making them buy it.

I say this also as someone that most likely isn't going to the game due to cost.

Just wondering. Is it also greed and ripping off a fellow Ag when someone pays well below face value for a ticket?

We've had season tickets since 2005 and I've taken a beating when selling tickets for games we couldn't go to.

A few points. Everyone had the opportunity to buy season tickets and do the same. You also have to remember that the season tickets also require a donation that is not tax deductible, in some cases it's substantial. Why is it wrong to sell something at the market price even if it's crazy high? I just sold a home for 40% more then I paid for it 4 years ago, guess that makes me an ass.

Ok, let's say you had tickets to the game... How much would it take for someone to get those tickets from you? $250? I'm going to guess it would take a lot more than that.

The gripe ought to be about Ags selling to sips. The market determines what the tickets are worth. And actually it is often less than face value.

An Ag friend offered about $1,500 each for two on the 50 (east side) for the 2013 Ala game. I absolutely took the money. I wasn't pushing at all and he offered.

There's more to the price of tickets than what's at face value. You have to pay just to be able to buy those tickets so there's that to consider.

Sorry commie, I'm not giving you my spare ticket for face value.

The market sets the re-sale value.

If people weren't paying that much for the tickets, you would see a decrease in the asking price.

If you think it is bad now, wait until you see what happens to prices if both Texas A&M and tu keep winning for a few more weeks.

that whole supply and demand thing. If there's someone willing to pay it, how am I ripping them off?

Just because someone is an Ag, doesn't mean they are a good person. there are plenty of Ags are a-holes. No guarantee I'm selling to someone who isn't a jackass, just because they are an Aggie.

that said, i'm not selling tickets this year.

You might sell it to someone that would turn around and re-sell for a profit at market value.

This is a simple economics laboratory for Supply and Demand.

If both teams keep winning, then expect the price to continue to climb.

But what if both/either teams lose or (even worse) a blue norther is forecast to roll in on the afternoon of November 30 (this happens, you know). Then, then prices will plummet.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Bless the hearts of those Ags who are willing to sacrifice their tickets to fulfill the desires of those willing to pay thousands to watch the 'sips get their asses kicked.

Look, these seatholders commit to paying thousands of dollars to watch the Ags- before they know what the team will look like. while 90% of Ags watch for free each week.

You really have a problem with some of them deciding to recoup some of their investment by providing a luxury item to some with disposable income???

your case would be different if they were selling medical supplies, or food or water for sustenance.

But they're not. This is a luxury item. This is like someone selling their heirloom when gold goes up 10x.

If you think a price is a rip-off, then you won't pay it. So you aren't getting ripped off.

If you want to pay less than someone thinks a ticket is worth, then they think YOUR offer is a rip-off. So they won't sell it to you, and they won't get ripped off, either.

These are just potential VOLUNTARY transactions.

Does your handle indicate you're an Aggie grad, class of '12? If so, I would have thought you'd have learned more about life by now.

If you want to pay face value call up the 12th man and get your checkbook ready. I'd sell for as much profit as humanly possible. I ain't no charity.

The only thing that rubs me wrong here is when people signup and secure more season tickets than they plan on using, so they can scalp the extra and pay for their tickets.

This removes the ability for other interested Ags to get in on some and build points. Now those resell tickets go to one off visiting fans or Ags that want to come to more games but can only afford a few games since they have to buy everything for 3X+ costs second hand.

I bought tickets so that I can attend the games and have that shared experience with my family. That's the value I'm getting out of these and the deal I sign when I buy the tickets. If I have to sell some at a loss, or give them away for games I cant make, I factor that into the cost of the tickets. I'm not looking to make money on other Ags because I was fortunate enough to stand in line before them.

Sell them for as much as you can. The only way I'm going to complain is if you sell them to a sip.

TMF underprices and leaves a gap.between primary pricing and secondary market. They go that to maximize benefit to fans and use priority points to select those lost committed to the school. But unless you dropped your season tickets you really don't have an interest in the secondary market pricing. So this is a scold post trying to control behavior of others.

I think the question without the judgement is fine. An innocent question on why and listening to responses would be great. But that isn't your intent. Stop trying to control others. Feel free to tell the TMF your concern so they can decide what to texpect about it, though…

As a season ticket holder I think it is my right to list them for what I want. You should remember a few things:

1) How many horrible matchups have I bought tickets for? Lots, I guarantee it.

2) I have to front money every year for those all of the tickets. The fan buying them for one game isn't doing that.

3) The person may have a certain price that they are willing to not go to the game for. If someone pays $3000 a piece, great!, if not, great as well!

I really like when Aggies make tickets available at a discount on here. In fact, if my brother didn't take them all the time I would probably give away quite a few games each year as well. That being said, no one is obligated to do that

Justification based on bad behavior by others. I guess your answer to my mom's question of whether or not I'd jump off a cliff because everyone else does it, would be a YES ! Of course I did notice your caveat of "maybe"..... feeling a little guilty ?

The ONLY valid ANNUAL goal for ALL Aggie Sports is a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!
