First 2 were awful today.
Arkansas came away with a 24-14 road win at Auburn. Their defense has clamped down. Arkansas allowed 431 total yards (285 passing and 146 rushing), but they held Auburn to 14 points because they forced 5 turnovers.

Missouri escaped with a 30-27 2-OT home win over Vanderbilt.

I would like double digit wins over both Arkansas and Missouri, but I won't be surprised if both games end up being close. Hopefully, we hang on for a win over Bowling Green and win our next two SEC games against Arkansas and Missouri to improve to 5-1 (3-0 SEC) before our first bye week.


Did you watch the Arkansas game?

Both teams went to their 2nd string QBs because both offenses were terrible. I watched for like 5 minutes and saw 3 picks.

Noah was wide open for 60 yard TD pass across the middle in 2nd quarter and Reed couldn't even come close to hitting him. Klein concepts work, but talent level no where near what's required to execute.

its not that its the concepts we run don't lend themselves to run open down field... we run down field concepts to open up underneath concepts... its a funky way of doing things.
none of them are fast enough to get behidn the defense though, or if they are we have yet to see it
ya no, they are running clear out routes not climb routes, or beater routes, or post, post-corner routes,... its very obvious they aren't the targets in some of these schemes... which is its own issue that even I can see that.

Good gracious. It's Year 1 with a completely new staff teaching completely new schemes and terminology to a fairly young team. C'mon.
I don't understand why the expectation is that a perennially 8-4 team cans their coach and then somehow kills it in the portal, recruiting, retaining players, and then immediately exceeding where we were at under the previous regime.

Obviously, I'd like to be crushing BGSU right now, but it is ridiculous that people are acting as if things are the same when Elko's tenure is so young and we are using a backup QB.
