If he ends up being held out due to injury, that is what? The fourth year in a row we have lost QB1 due to injury before starting SEC play? At this point, let's just start up a conspiracy competition on this site to see who can come up with something so ridiculous that not even Message Board Geniuses will repost it.

MARCEL REED TIME

You are gonna so REGRET it if we see Reed over Weigman.
I've seen Weigman beat one non FCS team in 3 years and in that one game he had 12 completions… it's time to move on! Just because Aggie media proclaims Weigman as some star, he hasn't done anything whatsoever as a college qb! Watch how the players respond to Reed, night and day! Just how they balled out more for Henderson, Weigman isn't a leader, not even a captain! NIL leaders and donors aren't gonna run this team any longer watch how the team reacts with Reed, trust me

Please shut up you don't know ball

I have more faith now in Reed & Henderson running the show! Reed did well last week and maybe that is why he went into the game at the end of the second quarter, because CW was hurt again. Reed & Henderson need to be getting more reps at practice, since it does not look like CW will make it through the season without some kind of ailment. Implement your game plan with these guys and go with it!

A lot of highly qualified coaches on TexAgs these days.

Go back and watch the Notre Dame game. Confidence wasn't the issue. A few bad throws and some instances of not being on the same page (receiver breaks in vs out, etc.).

Not sure what yall were watching vs McNeese but Reed definitely isn't ready. He short hopped three easy throws and his biggest production was one read then tuck and run. If Weigman doesn't play I hope Reed kills it. Based on last Saturday, there might be a lot of upset people
This shouldn't even be a discussion. Weigman looked like himself against McNeese and hopefully ND will prove to be the anomaly with which it appears

I agree. It amazes me the stuff people come up with. My point is people calling for Reed because he looked great etc, were watching a completely different game. Weigman, as are the other two QBs, is still getting settled in a new offense. This week I expect him to be better then last week and to continue to progress through the year. Hope he is good to go tomorrow.

No thanks, not watching that lack of confidence game by our QB again. FYI he had happy feet. Which is a QB without confidence. Take it up with Jackie if you cannot see it. He easily saw it. And I think he knows a thing or two.

Reed did not look any better than Connor. I don't want Connor but since the staff has put Reed at 2 instead of Henderson, then well I'm just disappointed so let's stay with Connor. Reed is not ready yet

Reed did well, he by no means came close to better than CW....Not sure what game you were watching. Conner didn't leave the game injured. I believe he completed every pass on his final drive and led the team to TD's on every possession he was in. How Reeds performance somehow makes anyone think Reed should replace CW is mind numbingly dumb.

I never thought I would be nostalgic for Mond.

Aside from JFF, the only QB I'm nostalgic for is Reggie McNeal
His deep throws on the out and up routes against OU were magical...

Everytime I watch the highlights, I still get scared deep insight that the ref is going to call the TD to Bethel Johnson a drop because of how fast he throws the ball down after the catch. Maybe after 30 years I can stop worrying, but not after 20.

My BAS tells me that if Conner is actually hurt and Reed has to start, then by the end of the game Reed will be hurt and we will be on QB3 again at A&M again. Hoping I'm wrong.

my friend in the Strength and Conditioning department mentioned that another player dropped a 25 lb weight and it rolled into Connor's ankle. Swelled up pretty good but he was still able to do his squat workout yesterday.

Connor should be good to go tomorrow

FWIW - Moffit was pissed bc he always preaches no dropping weights for this exact reason. He ended up making the other guy do Romanian deadlifts until his a** was quivering LOL

The biggest reason I don't think Reed is that much of a step down is that Weigman played like somebody who was trying to put together a stat line to impress the masses (which I guess it did). Reed looked like somebody trying to run the plays that were called.

What I mean by that is, while he obviously needs reps and needs to not throw low and short, he was throwing routes on time and in the offense. Weigman wasn't for a big chunk of the game. Reed was looking to run the play as called. Weigman was holding the ball and then scrambling vs an overmatched FCS opponent.

Ultimately, the way Reed approached the game will benefit his growth more than the way Weigman approached it will benefit his.

It's the same reason that I kind of expect more of what we saw against ND when Weigman plays an athletic defense.

I hope he comes in and dominates. If he does, I'll be the first to admit that I was wrong.

But since we're all just sitting here trying to predict the future, based on the past, those are my thoughts as to why I didn't find his outing last week nearly as impressive as some seem to have found it.

I just didn't see anything that looked like his play against Ole Miss or LSU in 22, or even Miami last year.

I saw some nice, crisp short throws. I saw some underthrown long balls. A good TD pass to Noah. And I saw a lot of things that only work against terrible defenses, which is great if you're just playing to beat that team...but we should never enter a game vs McNeese state simply looking to get a W. It should be a week to improve.

This thread proves what many say over and over. Texags posters have no idea what they are talking about.

I don't know what you guys have been watching in games but Conner proved this past week vs McNeese why he is QB1. If Reed started against ND we lose 23-0. Conner running the offense scored touchdowns on 5 straight drives against McNeese.

What the hell game were some of you watching that wants to see more of Marcel Reed. If Conner is hurt that's one thing but suggesting that Reed is better based on what you've seen year to date is asinine.

Its the same old, same old. QB2 is always the answer and is always the savior on Texags.

Good grief some of you are blind as well as ignorant.

I don't want to see Reed, I want to see Henderson. What makes you want Connor over Henderson. Before you answer go look at their stats against power 5 competition

I will be interested if the announcers are aware of what "injury" was after the cat is out of bag on who the starter is.

Too easy:

Find the person employed in the program who's been here the longest. That person is probably being paid to provide weed, booze, and partners to our athletes, signals to our opponents, and tips to law enforcement. It's probably a trusted trainer or custodian who remembers RC and has never forgiven us for running him off. Look for the one driving a Cybertruck this year after getting a new Tesla two years ago and a BMW two years before that.

Anyone expecting VY, crab legs, or Cam showing up tomorrow is going to be disappointed

I would think possibly that Elko wants Florida to have to plan against two different QBs.

Some injuries are kinda nagging and it's unclear how bad. CW didn't look bad against MS. Perhaps he reinsured it?

I'd still think he should have rested while giving MR most of the reps and some to Henderson. Then CW would possibly healthy against Fla.

I'm really starting not to care.

No doubt this stuff is hard on the fan base. Very Sabanesque

I don't think it's that simple. He was way more mobile than Weigman. Maybe that unlocks something with our offense. Maybe not, who knows?

Reed is going to play, and he's going to turn the ball over. The key is doing things to overcome that, like making Lagway or Mertz do the same. No one knows what the hell is going to happen in this game. Buckle up

It's a lingering issue from the ND game and during the qb sneak supposedly. How are we here now, no clue. But it's a short term thing. Chapell is out for a longer term.
