He thinks ND will win 24-9. All I can say is at least he's a consistent hater. I personally think he took too many sacks back in the day, but I thought I throw this out there.

What a silly guy! I love when Joel Klatt is wrong about things.
He hates us, but it doesn't mean he's wrong.

I'm not generally a fan of Klatt. But he was on The Ticket this week and was actually complementary of the Ags. Said he likes what Elko is doing and loves Colin Klein as an OC - thinks we're going to have a solid D, but the changes (new staff, new offensive system) will be too much to overcome in week one against and established ND team.
Said that if this game were played in week 3 as opposed to week 1, it would likely be a close game. Thinks the O will eventually take off, but it's going to take some time to gel.

Unless the o-line has vastly improved, I don't see us putting up tons of points on the #10 team. I do think our defense can dominate though so I'm expecting a low scoring game, but hoping we can thoroughly whoop their ass
We have a lot of questions on the offensive side of the ball and ND has one of the best defenses in the country.

I see the logic, but damn that would be a depressing way to start the year. A loss in a shootout would be way preferable to 4 hours of us scuffling around and only managing some field goals.

Not expecting a barn burner, but if we only score 9 points, that will be pretty concerning.
I actually think he has the score right, but the sides wrong.
I don't see their o-line being able to contain our pass rush, and if Colin Klein has only improved our offensive production by 15 to 20% we should be able to move the ball well.
The big question mark for me is our secondary's ability to limit the big plays on the off chance that their QB gets any time in the pocket.
Call me a homer, but this is my objective opinion.

What has Klatt said/done to A&M that makes you say that? He does Big 10/Pac 12 games, so we hardly come up
I would not be surprised with any outcome, just because of the uncertainty inherent in building a new program of coaches and schemes etc, but I think we win convincingly mainly because i believe the ceiling for our defense is "best defense in the entire country"
So if thats true we're gonna score a lot more than 9 on that basis alone. Offense doesnt do it all by itself in a bubble, other phases have an impact on the score too

He does weekly spots on Dallas radio and even he jokes about how much he likes to troll/piss off A&M fans. He doesn't rarely talk about A&M.

Any score could be right, but that doesn't mean it's reasonable. A&M hasn't been held under 10 points since 2019 @ LSU. They haven't been held under 10 points at home since Sherman was the head coach. Could he be right? Sure, but this is a pretty out there prediction.LJF78 said:

Heck, if Jimbo's craptastic offense was not ever held that low at home. It's not happening Saturday. Thus, also a craptastic prediction.
if we can't score 18 points then we got problems, let alone 9.
I feel like Jimbo could've at least put up a couple of TDs against ND at home. I feel like it's a 20-17 or 23-20 kinda game.
That young Oline will not only have to deal with the elite defensive line, the 12th man at night should really be in their heads all game long.
whereas i do not think we'll blow anyone's door off this weekend ... Weigman has generally gotten us on the board. his lowest game was 10 points vs. Auburn in 2022.
i have a hard time believing we will score 9. if he had said 13 or 14 i'd probably be fine with his take.

notre dame has tons of questions on offense and is facing one of the best defenses in the country at home.
Louisville had the 44th ranked offense last year and scored 33, Clemson had the 52nd ranked offense last year and scored 31, Ohio State had the 45th ranked offense and scored 17...they played one team with an offense that was ranked below 44th and that was rival USC. I heard the segment as well, I thought it was a valid assessment, and although they're two totally different teams, it reminds me of the '12 season when we opened with Florida and lost in a close game. We should have opened with LaTech, but because of weather that game was postponed, so the season started with a real test rather than a warm up. Obviously a different situation, but a fair point with new coaching staffs for each game.
I used to get riled up about Klatt talking about A&M and the shots he took, but over the years, he's been proven right more than he's been proven wrong, and he seems to take aim more at the administration than the fan base, he's actually praised the fan base quite a bit, even though he does think a bunch of our traditions are weird, and if we're being honest here, they are. I'm now more of the mind set that at least we know we will get some kind of coverage, good, bad or indifferent, in the Ticket College Football segment each week, rather than say, Tech or some other big 12 school. I think its better to be talked about than ignored.
