Watching games without a TV service

I cut the cord years ago. I've had YouTube TV for approx. 7 years now. I'm at the point where the amount of time I spent actually watching TV just doesn't really even justify that cost and looking to cancel it.
Really I've just kept my service for sports. Is there any reliable way to watch A&M football games online without spending more than $10 or so a month?
I know that there are usually pirated streams on YouTube but they also get shut down mid game at times.
I was of the belief that ESPN+ only allowed you to watch games if you had a TV provider but then back during Omaha I learned that's not necessarily the case (still unsure on the specifics).

Anybody got any viable alternatives? Obviously the "Get to Kyle Field" posts are inevitable but that's just not realistic for me more than once or twice a season.

TIA.

If you haven't signed up for Hulu Live or Fubo then you can usually get up to a month of free service depending on what marketing they are running at the time. I usually just sign up for Hulu Live for several months and cancel after the season ends. Most SEC games are not on Espn+ unfortunately.

No real option for anything on espn. For the over the air CBS ABC games you can use something like an Amazon recast.

TLDR, there's no real viable alternatives.

Personally, I usually just get YouTube TV for football season and cancel it during the rest of the year. Sling actually has different package tiers so you can select sports-specific options and save some money, but every time I've tried Sling I've hated their app.

If the new Venu app releases, that might be a viable alternative if you're only looking for sports, but that's still $45 a month.

One final tip that may actually be useful, you can buy an antenna for around $20 and watch a few channels for free that way: ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, etc. It's not a good solution for football season since you lack ESPN/SECN and others, but in the off-season where you're not watching sports it gives you some of the major content. I've been taking advantage of it to watch some of the Olympics when I'm not subscribed to any live TV service.

Amazon. FireStick - $45
Pay a guy to program FS to be able to download apps.
Download ExtremeLive TV app
Activate the app for $10/mo
Enjoy live tv, the viewing quality is subject to your WiFi speed/capacity.

Somebody is always free streaming.

I watched the college world series this way.

Afterwards the video was this:

So…what makes $10 the right price?

It was an arbitrary number to give you an idea of where this lies on my priority list.

I think you should admit that you can't find ESPN service for that price and buy an antenna for the over the air broadcasts then.since you think this is such a low priority that you're virtue signaling about it here. This is a fan board not an apathy board…

For $10 a month, I'll post semi-accurate quarterly score updates for you on the game thread.

I have not subscribed to cable service since February 2017. If Texas A&M games are on ABC, CBS, or Fox, I can watch them on my TV. Otherwise, I would stream a Texas A&M game on YouTube or this streaming site: MethStreams - Welcome to CrackStreams v2.0 for free. I have used that site to watch NFL, NBA, and MLB games that are not on network TV. If I cannot access a CFP or NY6 Bowl on YouTube, I just subscribe to sling orange for month.

Don't be cheap and just pay for it if watching the games is so important to you. Don't know why so many people think they should all be free or have no issue stealing the content.
greg.w.h
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Aggies recommending stealing is a denial of our Code of Honor. The media revenue is key to the success of the school's athletic programs and calling yourselves Aggies or fans and doing that is fairly much a complete lie.

I recognize some are balancing budgets. and feel under pressure, but if you are going to prioritize it downwards in your budget look for "free" options that are more ethical like going to friends' houses or commercial sports viewing venues like sports restaurants/bars.

Not judging. Just exhorting.

Anything out there for less than ten bucks a month? I'm on a very fixed income.

networks, streaming services, etc are all figuring out what people are doing and making it harder and harder to save money. especially when it comes to NFL and CFB which are cash cows.
the best and easiest way is to do what others have said...subscribe to a good service such as youtube TV for the season then cancel.
I'm also a fan of the bigger events like NCAA final four tourney and the Masters (plus other golf majors). So what I'll do for those is sign up for something that has a promo period or is really cheap (i.e. sling) that still covers them. For the golf US Open it was on peacock so streamed that for like $10 for the month and cancelled.

No, unless you find pirated streams, but those are unreliable and often poor quality. The absolute cheapest legit way to get all of the football games is going to be the new Venu app for $42.99 per month. Other than that, the cheapest is probably Sling with the sports add on for like $50 a month. There is no streaming service with the ESPN/Fox channels for anywhere close to $10 per month

I was going to say try on Hulu (via a Firestick) where Hulu offers an ESPN package but apparently it's ESPN+.

As for ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX games, you literally get those channels for free with any cheap antenna.

Radio is less than $10 a month and they give score updates often.

Unless you have a house with tech shield...then your cell signal and over the air TV are non-existent

Same with a bunch of other sites that show every college and NFL game.

I stopped watching tv years ago and it was the best decision I ever made. I love college football, so I spend my Sundays reading about games and watch some highlights on ESPN.

I spend a lot of time reading and being outdoors.

I would like the option to pay for only what I want to watch. You get a boatload of garbage I don't care about for $72 and then to get what I really want it's another $12. I'd happily meet in the middle and pay $30 to just watch what I want.

Last year I did the Sling Football Season Pass and pre-paid for 4 months of Sling Orange + Sports Extra. I think it's roughly $160-$170 for 4 months and I was able to watch pretty much any SEC football I wanted. After the season I cancel my subscription.

Getting ready to do the 4 months again later this month.

Not trying to be mean but if you are not willing to spend a little bit of money for four months to watch Aggie football I don't know what to tell you.

This! For the total cost of one lower level ticket between the thirties to an average game. I don't think the OP likes football that much.

I'm in a similar boat.

Long boring story, but I have been in an AirBNB since Dec 31 of 2023.

The place here isn't much on bells and whistles. It has 2 tvs in the 2 bedrooms, but no cable service, only apps.

I will be here at least until November 30, 2024.

I listened to most Aggie baseball and basketball on the radio while here. I could find about 15% of the games on some free internet stream to watch, otherwise, I was teleported back to 1986 and getting it all on radio play by play. The ghost of Dave South (still living) comforted me through those audio-only "He is a touchdown!/homerun!/slam dunk!" moments during my time here.

But I can't miss Aggie football. I appreciate the responses, because I am an old and need to find a way to see all the games. And I'm not reeeeeal tech savvy, but I can muddle through.

Looks like I'll be signing up for some app I've never heard of before this thread, just to support my Fightin Texas Aggies.

Thank yall for the recommendations.

*hat tip*

The first 3 games, Notre Dame, McNeese, Florida. McNeese is the only one you can't get with a $20 digital antenna. The rest of the season, check out all of the free trial promos, sign up/cancel as necessary. I've watched the last 3 seasons for (almost) free this way.
