Like others have said, if you are in a densely populated area, an HD Antenna can give a surprisingly good signal. I've used one in southern FL for several years and can pick up any of the major broadcast networks (and then some). Range of these antenna is only about 50 miles (I think), so if you are in a more rural area they won't work for you. I can only get 5 channels out on the north fork of Long Island (two are spanish, two are shopping, and one is that all-western network).

I stopped watching tv years ago and it was the best decision I ever made. I love college football, so I spend my Sundays reading about games and watch some highlights on ESPN.
I stopped doing drugs years ago, I just snort a little coke on sunday

I'm in a similar boat.

Long boring story, but I have been in an AirBNB since Dec 31 of 2023.

The place here isn't much on bells and whistles. It has 2 tvs in the 2 bedrooms, but no cable service, only apps.

I will be here at least until November 30, 2024.

I listened to most Aggie baseball and basketball on the radio while here. I could find about 15% of the games on some free internet stream to watch, otherwise, I was teleported back to 1986 and getting it all on radio play by play. The ghost of Dave South (still living) comforted me through those audio-only "He is a touchdown!/homerun!/slam dunk!" moments during my time here.

But I can't miss Aggie football. I appreciate the responses, because I am an old and need to find a way to see all the games. And I'm not reeeeeal tech savvy, but I can muddle through.

Looks like I'll be signing up for some app I've never heard of before this thread, just to support my Fightin Texas Aggies.

Thank yall for the recommendations.

*hat tip*

If you have internet at your house, you can get a firestick from Amazon for $20-30, then sign up for one of the streaming services and you will have more tv than you will know what to do with.

I cut the cord years ago. I've had YouTube TV for approx. 7 years now.
Honest (possibly dumb) question: Can someone explain to me why Youtube TV is considered to be a different product from cable and satellite? I understand that it is delivered differently (there is literally no coaxial cable, so yes, you've "cut the cord"), but it seems to me you are getting the same product as cable/satellite - a group of TV channels bundled together that you pay a middle man to provide for one price. The channel lineup might be slightly different, but that's true for cable and satellite. So why is YouTube TV considered "cutting the cord" in the sense that it is different from cable?

The difference is it is an "over the top" of your internet service and requires only a smart tv or settop box rather than a satellite dish or cable modem. There still is an entry into the residence usually and equipment on premises.

For example: I have Spectrim Internet AND TV but zero cable boxes. All distribution in my house is via internet to Spectrum apps (which are nothing short of awful and, by the way, DVR is more…)

I do that because their bundle today is still ok superior for me to YTTV's price wise. YTTV does not offer regional sports networks in tier while Spectrum does. So I then buy it from Bally/Diamond/Sinclair for about $25 per month more. Fubo will add it in-tier for a slightly cheaper add on price but still more than Spectrum.

I will switch when Bally loses Mavs and Rangers. They already lost Stars…

In my opinion you would be correct. The original term "cutting the cord" was (mostly a virtue signal for some people) but was people moving away from traditional high cost cable and satellite type providers and switch to You Tube, Hulu, etc. for basically a cheaper on demand service that depending on the tier you pay for may still have ads. Not the You Tube TV and Hulu+ Live that there is today. When YT and Hulu added the TV/Live items it is basically the same as paying them like a cable provider likely yes at a cheaper cost (for now) than what the traditional items cost but you are basically watching the channel bundle and programming those channels schedule.

Of the providers including YTTV, Sling, Hulu+Live Sports, do any have an issue with multiple profiles?

Will my kid on one side of the state be able to login and use my service fine?

I believe YTTV allows the sharing of the service if they are in Google Family. I'm just wondering about the others.

In my opinion, the best value streaming service for sports is definitely "BCE Premium TV".

We haven't had issues with Hulu+Live using multiple profiles.

You could always go old school and listen to Dave and Dave he got a touchdown. Oh wait second thought maybe not. Radio did have it element of surprises however. Lol
