Hope we have clawback provisions in his NIL deal.

Who is "we"? TAMU doesn't have any say in any NIL deal.

You had to expect to lose a few big names. That said, I'd rather give Elko the opportunity to right the ship.
Some of you crying about losing these players will send us to the bottom of the SEC West… lmao
Where do you think we've been???? Jimbo took a loaded roster and underachieved/ sucked. A turnip could have coached that roster to 5-7, 7-5! I always thought Jimbo might be able to out- recruit his lack of coaching skills- wrong.
Give Elko a chance to make moves. The status quo was not good and had to change.

This is what happens when you have bad administration that makes bad decisions on coaches. Quit blaming Jimbo. He didn't higher himself. Also with some of this stuff coming out about Thursdays and him not checking in on HCs who the is doing the vetting of the program.

Also waiting to see who Elko is going to bring in. Brian Kelly brought Jayden Daniels and others his first year. Did we higher the right guy? I think we did but for the impatient there are definitely questions.

It's a little odd that this news broke yesterday and nothing from Nolen himself. I would think either way he would have posted something on twitter unless he's waiting for his agent to put together a post which if that's the case why would you talk to On3?

Nolen is a competitor and you could tell he was unhappy with losing. I wouldn't doubt if he goes to some place like Georgia or Bama that has a chance to win right now. Rarely does a new coach come in and is a national championship contender in year one

He's listed on 247 as having entered yesterday. I'd imagine they don't list them on there unless it's official.

Good, maybe we'll get to see GBD finally.

Seems he was one of the ones Jimbo had a hard on for, for whatever stupid reason.

Dude looks like 5th year NFL player and kicked ass the few plays he was allowed in the game this year.

It's hard for me to understand leaving when a coaching upgrade is coming. Like...the dude who yall were playing for was getting outcoached. You don't want to experience playing for a coach who can have us better than 8-4?
Nolen just lost his position coach.
So you admit Nolan doesn't care about winning, ...only the leadership of one position coach on the team?

These kids these days have misguided priorities. and you can't say it's NIL...we have that in the bag.

Walter cared about winning, from appearances, more than anyone else on the team. Dude was crying after almost every game clearly playing his heart out and even played in the next game after getting carted off the field at Neyland.

If he enters, does that means he can't "transfer" to us?

I'd double his nil.

Bama has two sophomores starting at DT right now and two sophomores on the bench behind them and a true freshman.

If he thinks he can just pick bama and go start there, he's a dummy.

College football has changed forever. No more commitment or loyalty. Players can leave anytime they want. I'm afraid it will run a lot of fans off. Everyone playing for the name on his back, not the front.
I'm already damn near at that point. I'm trying not to be. But everything I loved about college sports and despised about professional leagues is either dying quickly or already gone.

When you bring too much money into anything, and it gets to the point of greed, it ruins everything.

I was against NIL and paying student athletes when this was an issue a few years ago. Many here argued that players should be able to make money off themselves. I said yes, but not in school. They are getting a free education anyway. But NCAA and others got greedy and killed the sport.

The first call Spencer needs to make when he gets here is to Nolen and any other DL thinking about the portal. Bring the bags of money and meet any other bid.

Wish him well, but we are 12-12 over the last two years. A change is needed from top to bottom.
Uh, Nolen was not one of the reasons we were 12-12. If anything, the defensive front has been our strongest group the past two years.

If these players are that soft, they are gonna leave because we are going a different direction with coaching staff, let them leave. Most of then only care about money anyways anymore.

The Nolen family is meeting with Elko today. It's still possible he stays.

It is noteworthy that Chris McClellan from Florida is in the portal. Logic suggests he might follow Spencer here.

This is completely out of control. College football is going to have to institute a salary cap like the NFL did to reign in this bull***** It's quickly becoming a no holds barred form of free agency. This won't be good for the long term health of the game.

What is good for the health of the game is more money. Michigan vs Alabama might cause short term crying, but in the end we get two blue bloods playing in the Rose Bowl.

Hell even if Nolen is in the portal then it doesn't mean 100% that he's leaving.

I'll be upset if the deal is signed and he's gone, in a similar fashion to Mark Stoops. Fortunately, BMAs, regents, Aggies, texags revolted and that didn't happen so there's always a chance.

Brian Kelley went to SEC Championship year one. I would argue the Aggie roster is better than LSU when Kelley took over in 22

People acting like players were loyal in the past is laughable. They weren't allowed to leave.
They took the biggest bag in the beginning the had to stay.

Players have always been paid. Some of you obviously weren't around when it was illegal but selectively enforced. Whenever the Ags got really good (Jackie & RC), we ended up on probation, but somehow tu, Bama & other blue bloods always avoided it.

NIL has now made paying players legal and we have the ability with the biggest, richest, hungriest fan base to pay more than anyone. And yet some of you want to give up that advantage in the name of fairness & equity. Boggles my mind.

Let the bidding start! Until the athletes have to start paying back, portions of NIL and school expenses this will continue to happen at the slightest amount of adversity.
