We already had our 5-7 year and 7/8 win year, next year is 10-2 or better.

5-7 would be pretty tough to stomach.

Sounds like 10-2 would be the floor as most are concerned…..SEC schedule 10-2 should get you into the play-off…..so we realistically expect play-off team year 1?

C'mon man...I hate the sips like Palestinians hate the Jews... but tu beat Bama at Bama this year...

they did and deserve credit for winning at bama. that said if they played today i think the outcome would be different. bama and especially milroe are light years better than they were 10 weeks ago. not to say texas hasn't improved either but bama is significantly better than they were early in the year.

Sure looked good against the power house 2023 Auburn team.

my god

tell me you nothing about football without telling me you no nothing about football. golly gee a rivalry game was close. that never happens. i gues georgia sucks cause georgia tech played them within 8?

Tell me you have massive SEC bias without telling me you have massive SEC bias. We may not like it, but Texas beat Alabama in Alabama by double digits and ended the game running out the clock with the ball after a 7 minute drive at Alabama's 30 yard line. It was a very solid win. Alabama has looked better since then, but there is no reason to have confidence they would beat Texas if they played today (though I admit, you said "think" versus many others who act like Alabama would give them a beat down).

Yes, the Auburn game was a rivalry game. However, if Alabama is really that good and past all of their problems, they would NOT require a miracle against Auburn. Auburn absolutely sucks. They are trash. They have ZERO business competing with Alabama.

At this point, cheer for Florida State. Otherwise, there is at least a small chance of a rematch and we might not like how that turns out.

We would have won at Bama if we played them first game of the season.

All the 10 and 11 win predictions amaze me. Still have OL issues, new coordinators, new position coaches, a head coach who has only coached 25 games as such, and still in the SEC West. Tall order seems to me.

Call me when Sark goes 11-1 in the SEC. He won't. He did catch bama when they were vulnerable and beat em, but year 4 is going to look very different for Sark.

You guys sat this all the time despite your best ever team (2012) where you were the best team in the country was 100% Big 12. Also your first year in the SEC.
Not scared.
And there's always one ******* sip who thump their online chest on Aggie Football Forum... why do you even exist..
How so? Just stating facts. Your best SEC team was your all Big 12 roster and staff. Missouri immediately competed for SEC titles.

I feel greatly responsible for getting Jimbo fired. My spam posts of "If Jimbo loses to tu in Kyle 2024, then the check will write itself" did things.

I don't think we can survive a 5-7 season two of the past three years. NIL money is available to top recruits from many schools. The wins are going to matter for recruiting. If we continue to fail on the field it will be a downward spiral to a annual 6-6 football.

Just looking at the schedule, it's not as hard as previous years

Likely to win:
Mcneese
Bowling Green
New mexico
Arkansas
Auburn
Miss st
South Carolina

Tougher games but I like our odds:

Notre dame
Mizzou
Fla

We'd probably be dogs:
Lsu
Texas

The key is who we get back and who the coaches are. We have the talent.

And lsu and texas lose a lot of production but will still be very good.

But, that's 7 should wins. It's not hard to see us winning 2 or 3 of the other 5.

8-4 should be worst case scenario next season but 11-1 isn't that far fetched either.

No reason to think we couldn't do better than 8 wins next season depending on who sticks around

never get an easier schedule. Better win next year. No reason not to go 9-3.

Correction- We are no longer in the SEC West. We are in the SEC now. We don't play Bama or Ole Miss next year. Our 4 best opponents are all home games ND,LSU, Mizzu and tu.

Our road games are at Florida, SC, auburn and Miss state.

We should have 2 really good QBs, 3 RBs and several WRs and TEs returning along with an improving defense. We didn't lose at home this year and should be able to win on the road against 4 much lesser teams than Bama, Ole Miss, LSU and Miami this year. All of those games were winnable.

So 9-3 or 10-2 is a solid first season and up from there. Tu plays Mich, ou, Georgia and us next year and I don't expect they will be having much fun.

Elko is inheriting a much better roster than Sarkisian did at tu .9
I am expecting no worse than 9-3 in first year .

How long do you want to ignore this user?
If Mike Elko can keep most of the roster intact and be aggressive in the portal, the floor should be 9-3, which would require winning at least one road game. Our toughest games against Notre Dame, Texas, LSU, and Missouri are at home, and all 4 road games at Auburn, Florida, Mississippi State, and South Carolina are winnable.

I would have agreed with this statement before last week's game against Auburn. Bama looked worse than they have all year and were extremely fortunate to come out of that game with a win.

With this roster and a couple transfers there is no reason to think we shouldn't go 10-2 next year with out Bama and Georgia on the schedule.

This. 7 wins is more likely than 9 in 2024. We may have paper talent but we're still talking about 18-22 year old kids and a new HC and staff. It's gonna take time.

unless we have mas, mas transfers, or an extra ordinary number of injuries, 5 - 7 in the first year should get the entire coaching staff fired

How often have we had Georgia on our schedule? I agree the schedule is easier, but we ALWAYS predict these great seasons and they almost never work out. We have one 10 win or greater season since 1998.

As annoying as the sips are, they put a lot in to that program. But, I agree there is no reason we don't win 9 games minimum next season.

So what. What's happened in the past is no prediction of what will happen in the future. 10-2 isn't some great season next year. It's more like a 9-3 or ever 8-4 (2019) in prior years. It means we likely lost 2 of the 4 big games and beat everyone else that we should be better than. LSU, Texas, Missouri, Nd. 2/4 and beat everyone else. Good season but probably not great and might not even make play off with 10-2. No ole miss next year either. It's a way more manageable schedule than any year we've had in the sec so far.

If we haven't won a NATTY by year 3, it's time to get a new coach. Wash, rinse, repeat..... for another 84 years of mediocrity.

The ONLY valid ANNUAL goal for ALL Aggie Sports is a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

One of the big highlights of getting Elko is that he is supposed to be able to retain a large portion of our talent. Another highlight is his ability to quickly turn a program around. As long as the o-line issues can be addressed, either by coaching up or getting better talent from the portal (something he also did effectively at Duke), then, given next year's schedule, I don't think 9 wins is pie in the sky talk at all. I also don't think he wants to settle for just 8 wins. He was told this "is not an 8 - 4 job" and I believe he will proceed accordingly.

Did you watch the Bama/Auburn game? Bama should be 10-2 with a bad loss to Auburn but Lady Luck and poor decisions by Auburn defensively said otherwise.
