I don't feel strongly about Stoops one way or another, but if Bjork actually let himself be bullied out of the hire by the donors, then he's not the guy for the job.

Nope. If he is in fact staying it's because of the backlash.
This means that 1. Our leadership thinks stoops was our best option. This is already terrifying. Also, 2. We just got turned down but the head coach of freaking Kentucky.
No matter what, this is a disaster
Go look where Bear Bryant came from to come here.
All good points. Which makes me wonderJJxvi said:
We offered Stoops the job, the rumors started at UK, not here, and expanded intil their media confirmed it was happening and then people connected here (not message board posters) like Passwaters, Liucci, and even a a major media member like Zwerneman reported their sources (which would be A&M sources) told them that it was happening.
What happened after that is Mark Stoops backing out. Mark Stoops is trying to get out of Kentucky because his career is stagnating there. Im sure he believes its not him, but "if I just had more resources!" that his career would start heading back to the top. However, last night it became clear (not necessarily here but in the major cfb media seeing what was happening and posting on X) that he would be on the hot seat day one and receive a frosty reception when he got here. He found out that if he actually accepted he was moving closer to being out of a job, not closer to resurrecting his career. So he backs out and then tweets to the UK fanbase to try and repair the situation there and say how happy he is there.
I think its pretty clear that our leadership is very very far out of touch with the fans. They had no idea this would be the reaction to Stoops and yet almost anybody thats an A&M fan could have predicted it. Almost no other candidate talked about would have garnered such a response, even negatively viewed ones like Traylor.
People complain when he leaks stuff early then complain when he waits until it's about to be announced and they say, "he doesn't know anything he just parrots what they want him to say". What a bunch of teenage girls.20ag07 said:Lo dafuq is wrong with you? This entire website exists on messages that haven't been made by "A&M senior leadership".Quote:
In any case Billy who is assumed to love Aggie Football should never have published that message, true or false until official releases made by the Texas A&M senior leadership
Bet you didn't have a problem when he first leaked the Jimbo firing ahead of "official messages".
This ain't a press release aggregator.
(Also, Looch was playing catch up last night).

Its not even the similarity of the results, its the pricetag you pay for it. Stoops is not only mediocre results but hes super high profile and well paid. We would have been paying Jimbo money again for at least 7 years for what amounts to a poor mans Jimbo.
Ok Underdog!!! Here to save the day. You guys are laughably sad, but at least I get to laugh at you.BrayK15 said:
Billy saw Ross about to make a horrible decision and allowed us to intervene by leaking it. No hoodwinking

As far as I can tell no one in the athletic department confirmed an offer to Stoops. I'm sure he was one of the 8 interviewed. Kentucky started this rumor and Billy bit big time.
Stoops was never the guy. Don't believe a word until the AD announces it.
Do you really think they are leaking it to a fan website owner first?

And you know this how? Let me guess, you and the AD are in the church choir together?

This is why we never offered
Average coach
High price tag
But you keep on throwing out speculation.

coaches and their agents have never been known to "leak" false information if it's to their advantage. no one would game the system.Double Diamond said:
Yeah leaked from Kentucky as Stoops had told Kentucky he was leaving.

You are just wrong. But keep pushing your fantasy story. I'd add some coeds with boobs to your time line to spice it up though.
