Final run-down for the week:
No. 9 Ole Miss lost to UGA 52-17.
No. 10 Penn St. lost to Michigan. They have lost to the two good teams they've faced this season.
No. 11 Louisville needed a 17-point fourth quarter to knock off 2-8 UVA.
No. 13 Tennessee lost to Mizzou by 29.
No. 15 Oklahoma St. lost to 5-5 UCF by 42.
No. 16 Kansas suffered their third loss of the season against 5-5 Texas Tech.
No. 18 Utah sustained their third loss of the season.
No. 21 Arizona needed a ten-point third quarter to come back and beat 4-6 Colorado.
No. 23 Tulane beat 3-7 Tulsa by two points.
No. 24 UNC needed double overtime to beat 6-4 Duke.

These teams are in CFP ahead of Ags with less resources, facilities, recruiting, cheaper coach..

Why are we so mediocre…!!! JIMBO…. But why does every coach we hire always have us stuck in mediocrity.. what is the the issue. Seriously..!

We would beat all of those teams except ole Miss obviously. And they all play in weaker conferences.
I believe that Mizzou is also in the SEC.

Iowa may be debatable. I know that when Hayden Fry was there, he was always able to get the things he needed like facilities & raises for assistants. So they must have some significant level of financial resources.

UNC was able to land Mack Brown. And they've obviously had the historic resources necessary to be a blue blood in basketball.

It's a crap shoot. I'm convinced there is no formula for hiring coaches.

Here in Austin, Charlie Strong and Tom Herman were up and comers. Before them, Muschamp was named heir apparent, then there was talk of Harsin taking over. Sark was neither an up and comer nor an established winner and had some baggage. He's looking pretty good so far.

Bama was Saban's fifth HC job, after 30yrs in coaching. Prior to Saban, Bama's last NC was 1992, with 1 conference championship in 1999.

Matt Rhule got a Jimbo-esque contract (8yr, $74M) from Nebraska when his greatest accomplishment has been 1 AAC championship. The ultimate "up and comer" may be Joe Brady. Landed an NFL OC gig on 1yr as a "passing game coordinator" for Joe Burrow at LSU. Got some mention for an NFL HC a year after that. Then he got fired and is now an NFL QB coach to 6yr starter and 2x Pro Bowler, who made the play-offs in 4 of those years. Who's teaching who?
As you may have figured out by the name, I'm a fan They Who Are Not to Be Named. That said, I don't have a problem with A&M. BlowU, The Farging Irish, and the Pigs are a different matter.

The SEC West and SEC East are not the same. Missouri has lost to the two ranked SEC teams they've played and their lone ranked win is over Kansas St. who likely will not be ranked at the end of the season.

Ah, I thought Tennesse fell out of the polls after that. They will next week after UGA thumps them.
