I think his age will knock him out as contender. He'll be 65+ when Saban retires

I don't think sanders goes anywhere until his son is done. He has already transferred once, so he has to sit our a year- and that ain't happening. So cu gets to keep prime for two years at least.

We're paying a guy $10MM who talks into his headset a lot. I guess he must be a really good coach. He also never won anything without having Winston and Dalvin Cook.

You mean he won with good players? When did this start happening?

The word around the program is that it will be Lane Kiffin. They are close.

Kirby is a former UGA player and alum, no way he leaves UGA for Bama.

By the same logic, Dabo would be the first call. If Dabo is not interested (he has said he is not multiple times) then it is open season.

Bama is not immune to bad hires, they made several prior to Saban....

Maybe can follow Saban's coaching rehab center and re-hire Mike price (without the university credit card)

Bama will money whip Kirby Smart. If he won't budge then I d guess Dabo is next up unless Clemson falls back to reality by the time Satan is done.

Neither of those guys are going to Bama. They've both won multiple championships at the schools they're at. Why go to Bama and follow Saban? No up and coming coach worth his salt is going to want to follow Saban.

I think Bama, at least if they're smart, is working on a transition plan for after Saban. Something like a 2 year "bridge" coach. I can't come up with a name off the top of my head, but it would be a guy who's been successful but is near the end of his career himself. He's willing, for the money, to come in and make whatever changes are necessary and take the heat, absorb a couple of 8 or 9 win seasons at Bama, and then either find or groom a successor.

Actually, I think it is far more likely a guy like Sark takes over at Bama than either Kirby or Dabo, especially if t.u. can keep winning 8 or 9 games a year. If they can't, then forget it, but I'd be thinking more along those lines.

I really don't think in today's day and age it is every coach's dream to coach at Bama. When you can win the title almost anywhere, why put up with the headaches Bama causes, especially following a guy like Saban. Everyone who interviews for that job will get dozens of calls from friends and mentors saying, "DO NOT take it."

I'm not an expert but I think if the coach leaves players can transfer without penalty. But I doubt he leaves this year.

They're ranked now for the first time in ages.

Now they shouldn't really be IMHO but he has taken a 1-11 team and put them 3-0.

He does have Trent Hunter who was the #1 recruit and his playing both sides of the ball.

So there's a few things. I'm not a fan of his but he' has certainly already made progress for Colorado

This week and next week to USC but that doesn't mean he isn't a good coach. If he stays at Colorado with people like Nick Williams and Tim Brewster recruiting he's going to destroy the portal in the off season. I can't see him at Alabama but I do think he's done a great job flipping a horrible roster in one year to at least below average which is an improvement.
No one can deny that. The question is can he do it several years in a row. It'll be fun to watch if he can.

Jackson State was 21-40 the 6 years before he got there. He went 27-6 and won 2 conference titles. Colorado was 1-11 last year with an O/U of 3.5 wins. So far they're 3-0. That seems like pretty good coaching to me if the mission is to win games.

Fisher is an unorganized mess. As a coach, Prime has not beaten anyone, ever.
I don't doubt his coaching abilities. However, what he has done is more about his ability to bring in talent. In the case of Colorado, he flipped the roster, that is not Xs and Os. That is just being shameless in basically kicking 3/4 of the roster out of Boulder.

Most impressively, he has complete buy in from his new roster and appears to be an excellent motivator.

Same at Jackson State, but there his roster was far better than any team he played.

Tomorrow will do better in telling us more about his x and o abilities.

What would Deon's record be as a Buff with his son at QB. Kid is a baller.

Well Jimbo has brought in plenty of talent in 6 years but still can't win so Prime has to be considered a better option at this point.

I believe the agents... such as Jimmy Sexton... will have a lot to do with the process and the results. A few coaches at other schools will get nice salary bumps merely because a Sexton puts their names out there in a coaching search. It's become an art form.

Whoever replaces saban will be fired within three years. Following him will be an impossible task. It's the second coach after him I'd be concerned about.

Dang, playing SOMEBODY! Oops, Prime has no answers. The enlightenment is a huge fail. Now can we quit following the nations sports press narrative and move on from Colorado and their "Gods gift to college football" coach Prime?
