Go get Riley so that we can do half of what Tcu has done with half of the resources.

They've done well for themselves, given their resources. A&M and tu have underperformed. I felt bad for them getting screwed out of the Big 12 because of tu and Ann Richards.

I'm slightly jealous of their success, but in context, it's really nothing to be jealous of. High ranking, etc means nothing if you aren't winning conferences or NC. They're playing in a weakened Big 12 where Baylor has finally won some conference Champs after we left.
Because I'm Batman!

Which has been the better team in these 22 odd years?
Is this a trick question?

TCU has 12 10-win seasons since 2000, went undefeated and won the Rose Bowl in 2010, has been ranked in the top 25 to end the year 11 times, has finished in the top 10 6 times since 2008 and finished #2 in the country in 2010 and #3 in the country in 2014.

Also their best QB of the past 20 years worked his ass off to have a really solid NFL career while our best QB of the last 20 years partied his ass off and lost every chance he had to play in the NFL.

We WISH we were TCU

We are 1-0 vs TCU since 2000. We also haven't lost to them since 1973 I believe. 28 straight wins.

Actually, A&M beat TCU in 1973 behind freshman QB David Walker. The last time TCU beat the Aggies was in 1972. Harry Truman and Lyndon Johnson were both still alive then.

How long did it take Gary Patterson to take the program to the top? How did it take Franchione before him? How long did it take Sonny Dykes to make it to the CFP? How many years will it take us to build or rebuild? Lol Early 90s when at TAMU the general thought was TCU is almost a guaranteed win. Then when they did the Big 12 they didn't want TCU and the others from the SWC because they were so weak. My have things changed.

Our school anchored a fantastic business transformation for the SEC and benefited with more fan donations in addition. Kyle is successfully powering funding that matches the value even adjusted for inflation of the new ESPN deal and not including a valuation of the new CFP format. ESPN has too much revenue originating from bowls for them to disappear, too, so some of that revenue can be additive.

I think where we are in the SEC pilgrimage is we recognize how important coaching is to all of the intercollegiate sports especially for recruiting but also development. We don't need coaches that get us. We need coaches that get players and help them win. Our administration and TMF need to quit hiding behind failed decision making and figure it out.

For Sharp time is running out. He can cement his legacy as chancellor if he can complete the transition to national stage for A&M in across the board academics and athletics. We need to riff off of Al Davis's Raiders and become the team everyone loves to hate.

Deer Corn just posted the only stat that really matters. Although I wouldn't trade 2012 or 2020 for any of TCUs high school football schedule success stories. We may not have the SEC or National titles yet, but we play big boy football and wins are hard earned.
You wouldn't trade the 2020 season for TCU's season this year? That is crazy. Their season this year is better than our 2012, but at least I can see an argument for that season.

True, by measuring a program by it's financial success, we are still towards the top. That is the most important thing for the bean counters/ admin.

That also makes the point that we are severely underachieving on the field.

Now TCU is in a place we have thought we would be competing for since we joined the SEC. A spot we've been dreaming of since how long???

Being in the playoffs, is a big measure of a successful program, one we haven't achieved and TCU now has.

wat?

IDK how TCU happened...
someone smart tell me how TCU accomplish this in year one of the new coaching regime.

Making the playoff sure makes Gary Patterson look silly.
I thought their star RB profiteered to old miss
They certainly stock less star talent than A&M and texas...

And yet here they are...

Significant credit goes to their admin...who got rid of Patterson and made tough decisions

unlike our spineless admin and politician wearing a cloak of chancellorship...useless like snot-filled tissue paper

we should be jealous and direct our wrath on them

Nattys since 2000:

TCU: 0
A&M: 0

Who cares?
Texas A&M has never been a National Championship caliber football program so this is a bad comparison.

Conference Titles Since 1995
Texas A&M: 1
1998

TCU: 7
1999
2000
2002
2005
2009
2010
2014

TCU has just as many BIGXII football titles as Texas A&M.
The Southwest Conference Titles that RC Slocum accomplished in the 90's are no different from the WAC or Mountain West Titles that TCU has.

A&M has got to get over the first place hump to ever be taken seriously as a football program. Someone under 30 years old has never seen the Aggies be great at football or basketball.

TCU won its last national championship in 1938.
A&M won its last national championship in 1939.

It's TCU in the top 3 of most popular teams in their own city? Most years the answer is no. What they have done is maximize their potential whereas we have not. But 50% of 100 is still better than 100% of 25. Everyone loves a Cinderella, but A&M has won more games that mattered than TCU has played in during this time.
